Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

[Oh sup, is that another fan on shore? He's going to assume she just thinks he's awesome, so more showing off is in order. So he's going to teleport to the top of a wave and ride it out. On his hands.]

[WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT? Thoroughly intrigued now by this impressive display. She's seen people who can teleport before, but they don't normally decide to ride waves, let alone do it on their hands.

Oh. And they're not normally blue. This is also important.

Still watching, still very interested. But not in a 'wow that's so amazing' sort of way, but a more of a 'this guy clearly isn't human and must be watched' sort of way. Yup.]

[bamfing]

[That's because when it comes to close range teleportation, nobody tops Nightcrawler in awesome. He'll carry on like this for another ten minutes or so before teleporting back to shore. He plants his board into the sand and then sits in its shadow on the sand. He can't be seen now from her point of view, though. But he knows she was watching. He's waiting to see if she'll come over.]

[And she will, in time. She takes a minute to consider walking over, before deciding it would be best not to miss out on the chance to meet someone who isn't human.

Slowly going to peer around that surf board...]

He'd teleported from it long before she walked over. So he'll be standing behind her, casually eating a hamburger, when she does speak up.]

My my, is that true~? It certainly looked as though it required a lot of skill to be able to be as mobile as that.

Such modesty. It truly was quite the impressive display~ [Tittering to herself quietly, she'll just look him up and down.] I have never seen anything quite like you before. What exactly are you?

[There goes his grin.] I'm human, just... a mutant. That's all. [Whatever else she thought he was? Well, he isn't.]

[Human?! But he's... And... Oh, she's slightly perplexed by this. Selective hearing is go.] A mutant? I have never heard of such beings before. I certainly hope they are all as equally impressive as you are however. [Oh, and she notices that lost grin.] Dear me, did I perhaps hit a sour spot, I wonder~

[Treating his sore spot so lightly doesn't earn many favors either. But he's being polite anyway.]

We're all different. Most mutants look human, though. I'm different than most of them.

I suppose in a sense you are much like a youkai then~ Appearing human, though possessing special abilities beneath your appearance. [Not going to mention anything more about appearances now as she's realised, yes, it's indeed a sore spot. What are social skills Yuuka. Time to change topic.]

What exactly is this? [Indicating towards the surf board.] My world never had contraptions which let you ride the water past normal wooden boats.

[You know, youkai is a vaguely familiar term. He had a talk with Patchouli about demons once, but he didn't remember most of that conversation, just that it made him uncomfortable. The change of subject is a welcome one.]

That? It's a surf board. It's not exactly something you'd want to cross the ocean with, but you can totally catch some killer waves, yeah?

['Killer waves'? ...She's fairly certain that isn't meant in the context that came to her mind. Literal waves that kill people.] I'm not quite sure I follow. I understand from what you say it isn't an ample form of transportation for crossing large bodies of water but... [...'Killer waves'?]

[Try it herself? Like he was before, zipping about all over the place on the water?] I hardly think I would be able to do such thing. Furthermore, I don't believe I am wearing the correct attire to partake in such an affair. [Plaid skirt and jacket, white shirt and yellow ascot. Total beach wear right there.]

Well, maybe not like I was doing it... [Let's face it, Kurt is kind of the benchmark of cool around here. No need to deny it.]

But you're probably right about the clothes. Aren't you going to swim?

[There's no denying it, that was pretty darn cool-- But still.] Even so, I wouldn't have a clue where to start~ [...Very unsure about this surfing thing. She wonders if it's even that fun.]

If I cannot ride on a 'surf board' like this, I hardly believe it's possible for me to swim.

And where in the world would I be able to find a new outfit now, hm? [Really with this much protesting, it's more like she's trying to get out of trying something new rather than giving legitimate reasons for not going surfing/swimming.]

Ahh, you must be new, yeah? The clothing store has everything, you just have to look. [Too bad her protests aren't working.]

But the clothing store is back in the village. [Which is such a long way away.] And besides, I have no idea what sort of clothing would be adequate in this situation~ [If he couldn't teleport like an awesome blue thing, she would have walked off long ago. Accept her protests already!]

I can take passengers when I teleport, you know.

[He's not going to force her into it, though. But he sort of enjoys this sort of thing.]

Ah, well you should have mentioned that sooner rather than neglecting such a detail.

[She wants to keep subtly protesting, but it dawns on her that if humans can do it, albeit blue fuzzy ones, surely she can too. Plus getting in the water would serve to cool her down, it being hot and all. But still, pretty unsure over here.]

On a scale of one to ten, one being a complete waste of time and ten being a worthwhile and fun pursuit, where exactly would you rate this surf board? [What is surfing.]
