Them coming means they have to get past me. [ she affords one quick, ascertaining glance back at raine. after what happened with winry in the last draft, she isn't certain that she wants the healer to see her true capabilities. she wants to maintain some of that gentle, happy facade for a little longer...even though things haven't been gently or happy for a while.

she spins the scythe -- falls into a low stance. the first opponent approaches. ]

He cries out at first, but his voice cracks and it becomes little more than a silent, breathy scream. The injury to his wing has left him rather unable to move without causing more pain, so at least Asch won't have to deal with him struggling at all against the pain.]

At first, the sheer amount of them on the pirate's body had nearly frightened her. It was nothing like what she was used to.
