Draft Log #3: During v. 2.0

[Nor is Kain holding back, spending much of his time airborne and focusing on the Third Party targeting them from above. He's also eager to yet again try out bands with Rydia when they get a good chance for it...]

[Rydia hasn't forgotten their Bands. When an opportunity opens up, she waits until Kain jumps, timing it so that he'll be able to take advantage of her thunder magic upon descending.]

[As he soars down, Kain ensures that his descent is timed just so... aaaand then he stabs forth, combining his attack with that bolt of crackling electricity. Take THAT, Third Party.]

[Rydia grins...then staggers back from a blow delivered by one coming in from her blind spot. She moves in time to dodge another attack, this time directly a blast from her Ice Rod at point-blank range.]

[Kain gasps and then leaps to jab the one offending Third Party fighter directly in the face. That's what one gets when they hit Rydia! He stays on ground for a moment stabbing at the enemy, to help reduce the odds of her getting hit again.]

[Between the ice blast and Kain's attack, the soldier is soon felled. Rydia doesn't relax, though; she quickly glances around, using Osmose to steal magic from nearby, already occupied soldiers.]

[Kain gets what she's doing and so focuses his next attack- a rough blast of wind- upon a few other nearby targets. Let her replenish her magic before he goes after those sources.]

[Rydia uses Osmos a couple more times before that gets the soldiers' attention, and they charge toward the summoner.]

Jump!

[Once Kain is in the air, she'll cast Quake, causing the ground to split and tremble beneath her targets.]

[Kain listens to her and does as she says, as always trusting in what Rydia tells him to do. So he misses the quaking of the ground, watching soldiers toppling over as he soars back downward.]

[Rydia trusts Kain to get any remaining from her attack, as she risks a quick glance around to be sure they aren't in danger of further ambushes. So far, so good. Now she can heal them both, not having had the opportunity to cast Cure in a bit.]

[And indeed, Kain finishes them off, the few stragglers that he'd seen moving, while above. Once he yanks his lance free from the last one, he goes closer to Rydia, to make it easier for the magic to reach him.]

[She's grateful for that, since her familiarity with this kind of magic is still rusty. Upon looking him over, she nods.]
