[After so much time protecting the priceless cargo thingy, Kazooie has to wonder what it is too. Still, she's being a Duitful Hero and not questioning it - instead, right now she's acting like a living line of defense, working to gun down Third Party members with Fire Eggs (that still burn despite the dampness...) if they try to get too close.

She's still wearing her oversized shoes, so Mulder will definitely hear the ridiculously cheery tune in the vicinity around her - which also serves to draw Third Party attention to the little green dragon.

... This is something that belongs on the X-Files, right, Mulder?

[Mulder spots some more fighters a short distance off, but they're not yet close enough to be in range.]

What are you- whoa, not bad! [And despite everything he grins a little.] It could have its very own file. What is it?

[Kazooie doesn't even look that worse for wear (though she's certainly still hurting, from blows to her body and Filial wings, shocking red and yellow against her green scales) right now, and the grin she sends Mulder's way is an easy one.]

You mean my Turbo Trainers, my Fire Eggs or my Dragon Form?

[Honestly? She's starting to get to like bragging about these things. Even in the middle of a war.]

[Of course, Mulder isn't letting his guard down even as they're discussing this, and he catches a stray Third Party fighter coming their way. A couple of shots takes care of that problem. Whew. Close one.]

...All of the above?

They're part of the stuff that helps make me a great butt-kicking force for this battle!

[And then Kazooie looks surprised as Mulder downs the Third Party member with his gun rather easily.] Hey, you got good aim...

Thanks. It helps the aim even more when there's a ruthless enemy bearing down...

[He glances around, it's clear for now, but he doesn't doubt there'll be more incoming soon enough.]

Looks like we're both doing pretty good out here.

It's better than what you were doing back at the amusement park! [Though if he was shooting like that, chances are he'd have gotten them killed.]

No sweat! I thought this'd be tough. [She's clearly bragging; this hasn't exactly been a cakewalk.] I guess they don't realize how awesome I am!

[That and Eggs are a pretty surprising weapon.]

See! I told you that game was rigged!

[Though it's been a challenge out here for him, he'll easily enough admit.]

We can't get too overconfident, though...

That priceless cargo thingy must be really important if they're making us beat up so many bad guys to protect it. But that's usually how those kinda things are - I had to find Targitzan's priceless relic thingy to get a Jiggy once.

[Her tone goes conspiratorial.] For what it's worth, I thought it looked like junk.

It's frustrating, being kept in the dark, isn't it? But something that looks like junk might secretly have some other use for someone...

I wish the Malnosso-guys'd just tell us what the dumb things are for! But I'm a hero. My job isn't to question this stuff. [And without prodding she usually doesn't care!

Maybe being in Luceti will teach her to care a bit...]

So do I, but they're not exactly the sharing type. We'll just have to get those answers for ourselves.

[Which actually is better for Mulder than anyone might realize. He needs a mystery to unravel, a truth to chase. He thrives on it.]

...You're a hero?

Yep! I've been a hero for a couple of years back home! Banjo 'n' me, that is, though I can be a hero on my own too!

[Like she's doing right now! At least in her mind.]

Well, you might be given plenty of opportunities for that around here... What sort of heroic feats did you do back home?

[Since she seems to like talking about this kind of thing, it'll be an interesting way to learn more about her and where she's from.]

Oh, y'know, the usual. [She grins, listing them off in a way that's obviously meant to be showing off.] Rescuing Banjo's little sister from an evil witch was the real point of the first game! But we've done everything from cure sick dinosaurs to helping Captain Blubberguts win that waverider-thing he wanted...

[She has done some really unorthodox feats, though. Like pushing an ice cube to his death to cool down some water so that pigs could have a swimming pool that wasn't too hot or too cold.]

Well, that's... quite the impressive resume. [And this coming from someone who's seen some really crazy things.] So you really are used to fighting in some capacity? In some kind of gaming situation?

Yeah! I'm from a game - the main hero, really! [Since Banjo totally doesn't count.] But people don't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about - I dunno if they're just all really dumb or if it's those Malnosso-guys' fault, 'cause they don't know either.

Huh... a game. Considering that I've had people tell me I'm on a TV show in their world, that doesn't seem so far-fetched.

[It's one of many tings of intrigue about the whole place that Mulder has been eagerly trying to understand.]

I never saw you on TV before. [Kazooie shrugs.] But Banjo 'n' I don't watch much. Maybe it's on a different channel or something?

Eggy 'n' I talked about whether this was a sequel or not. He thinks it's a totally different game. [Or... well, that was what she got from him. Which is not exactly what he meant.] Which explains why I've never seen half these bozos.

A game with no way to win is a really lame game!

It could be. I'm taking a wild guess here, that my show is on the Sci-Fi channel late at night. [The game idea is an interesting one he hasn't yet considered though.] It wouldn't be much of a game, would it? But, hm, if this is a game that means we have to eventually have some kind of ultimate final boss battle and get our asses out of here.

[Unless it's a game where rocks fall and everyone dies, which... would be unfortunate.]
