... then you probably shouldn't be out here. [But a healing spell will be cast anyway, just because she knows that there are other wounds she's not mentioning, and exhaustion that could use a refresh.]

The medical center's not too far away. You can take something that will help you rest.

I didn't wanna be out here. [Maybe it really is a whine.]

Most of the time I can think through it and- [then the spell hits her; she closes her eyes and her shoulders slump forward. There shouldn't be anything wrong! It should be fine, she'd slept the night before and been healed already and it's not like she was all that hurt anyway, just a little waterlogged. Right?]

When did it start? [Not scolding, exactly, but if she's reacting like that, she needs to know what she can do about it. Not that she's surprised Sheena's not being forthcoming.]

[corrinesbell]

Yesterday after- a-after we landed.

[But she should be forthcoming, since she made up her mind to do so.]

I, uh...something happened. [a frown. How to convince Raine that she really and truly can't remember enough details to explain it?] There was...I fought up on the ship and then.

[She looks from side to side without meeting Raine's eyes. Like she's searching the corners of her vision for the next part.]

Then I was on the- no, then I was swimming.

[She frowns. Everything she's saying is completely broken up. Almost like she's trying to hide it instead of just getting to the point.]


... So you were in the water. That might be it, then.

[corrinesbell]

[She's not trying to hide it. The look Raine's giving her says what she thinks about Sheena's story. The ninja looks more and more desperate, though. Desperate and irritated]

I know how to swim Raine! [ouch. Bad idea, no more shouting.] But the first...the first thing I really remember is that Piers said he found me on the beach.

Even if you know how to swim, the water still can be dangerous. And if you don't remember, that means you must have blacked out for some reason while out there.

[corrinesbell]

[Blacked out? It was already dark, from the storm, wasn't it? And she hadn't been doing well anyway.

All at once she remembers going over the rail, and immediately decides that if Raine doesn't need to know that part, she won't share it. In her struggling memory it was her choice, not an accident and not some enemy attack driving her to it.

Then swimming, flashes of light that showed the right way to shore, and coming near to one of the docks-]

Anything could have happened, if you don't remember.

... in any case, I think you should see a doctor.

I was fine fighting earlier. It's just a stupid headache.

[Her expression doesn't match the words. Even though she sounds defiant, she looks worried. Unconvinced. There was a reason she wanted to tell Raine in the first place, or why bother?]

I sort of remember the...the wooden thing. Where the ship is.

And now you're dizzy, Sheena, and you're not looking much better, even after my magic. Something's still wrong.

[Right now she's doing every body language thing she can to make herself as small as possible. Raine's right, of course. There was never any real doubt of that anyway.

She's scared.]

I know.

[wise_maiden]

When you're able to walk, I'll help you over to the building.

[Sheena's not the only one who's worried, but Raine has to not show it, instead taking some of the ninja's other words into consideration.] The pier...? You could have bumped your head.

[corrinesbell]

I didn't ask...what was wrong with me. Piers said he healed me though. So I should be fine.

[wise_maiden]

If you're still suffering, you don't know that for certain.

[corrinesbell]

[a minute or two of quiet. If Raine's watching, she'll see the agreement on Sheena's face - the guilt on it, too - before it's spoken]

You're right. I know you're right and you've been right this whole time. ...I just want you to know I didn't- I-I didn't not tell anybody because I was trying to be tough or something.

[wise_maiden]

[There's quiet, before that sinks in.]

Then why didn't you?

Because.

[It hangs there for a while. This truth is harder to admit to than she likes. ...But after the talking to she gave Raine just two days ago, there are no other choices. There never were any other choices that were good.]

Because I'm worried. ...I thought it'd go away if I ignored it.

[wise_maiden]

When does anything ever really go away by ignoring it?

[It's not really an admonishing, since her voice is quiet, almost meandering, with a question not really meant to be answered; it's one of those things that Raine has to have knocked into her own head from time to time. Tried and true bad habits.]

... anyway, that's not what matters now. We'll just ask one of the doctors to check you out... it could be from having swallowed too much water.

[corrinesbell]

Never when you want it to.

[That suggestion is one she hadn't thought of. And she sits up a little, hopeful.]

Really? That's all it could be? [The hopeful is driving out some of the worry, at least.] Even though it's been a whole day?

[wise_maiden]

I was pretty sick after it happened to me, and it wasn't even all that much. The doctor will know for sure, though.

[corrinesbell]

...What if it's something else?

[wise_maiden]

Then we'll find out what it is and take care of it, just like anything else. It could be anything, but nothing that should be allowed to linger. ... You didn't try summoning or anything, did you?

[corrinesbell]

No way. I know better when I don't have enough energy. [Or she's not in enough danger.]

...Guess we might as well go over there then, huh?

[wise_maiden]

Yes.

[She'll offer her hand though, in case Sheena really does need help getting up.]
