...I know what I mean but I can't get the words right.

[And that's just part of the whole problem isn't it?]

This situation has nothing to do with your village, or being a ninja. No one would even know enough to hold you to those standards here.

[corrinesbell]

Oh. Oh, no, that's not...I wasn't thinking about that stuff. I just meant...that I said I was gonna do something, and now I probably can't go through with it. Even if it isn't my fault I got hurt...I still feel like I'm gonna be letting people down.

[She does better at learning not to carry around all the guilt of the past when her brain is scrambled.]

And even if you stood there and told me I wasn't letting anybody down...part of me would still feel like I was. You know what that's like, right?

[wise_maiden]

... yes, you're right. I suppose I don't really have the right to tell you not to feel something I'd experience myself.

[She shakes her head a little.] Drink up your tea.

[corrinesbell]

[Her eyes try to narrow but that hurts her head.]

You didn't sneak something in it, right? [She didn't taste anything weird, but that meant nothing. ...And she is sort of joking. She trusts Raine to tell her before she drugs her.]

[wise_maiden]

No, it's normal. I told you, you need to eat first before I give you anything. [She'll sip at her own cup.]

[corrinesbell]

[...Point taken. She's had about half the sandwich, and to pick up the tea again and drink it now does feel good.

Plus, mouthfuls of tea keep her from asking (and potentially screwing up) the question about whether Raine had found the promised doctor.]

[wise_maiden]

[She nods encouragingly as Sheena continues to eat. The doctor she found will likely be by shortly, but there are a few injured people in the area. It gives her friend enough time to work on her meal, anyway. She slowly starts on her own soup.]

[corrinesbell]

[Saying so would feel awkward, but Sheena's glad Raine's eating with her instead of just watching it happen. The observation would make her jumpy.

She gets a little dizzy again when she picks up the bowl of soup. Rather than try to keep going and spill it, though, she puts it back down to wait.]

[wise_maiden]

[She hadn't eaten all that much in the past few days, so it's something of a reminder to herself to be able to take the time to do so. Especially with someone who'd probably call her out if she weren't doing it.

That last hesitation is noticed, though.] How are you feeling?

[corrinesbell]

[Just this once, Sheena probably wouldn't call her out.]

The room's moving. Not spinning but not...holding still.

[wise_maiden]

Do you want to take a break and lay down?

[corrinesbell]

[Part of her knows that if she lays down in this bed she's probably not technically going to be allowed to leave it, maybe even until the draft is over.

Too many things she's said herself crowd that thought out, though. Maybe that's the best thing she can do. So she does, with a slow nod and without meeting Raine's eyes]

[wise_maiden]

A doctor should be by soon. You don't have to push yourself, you know.

[corrinesbell]

When you say that...what am I doing that makes you say it?

[She's serious. Raine tells her that a lot and usually Sheena knows exactly what not to do, then. But not this time. As far as she can tell she's been pretty compliant.]

You don't...have to stay, if you don't wanna.

[wise_maiden]

I just mean in general. You usually end up trying to.

[And she's not answering that last part. She just goes back to her own soup.]

[corrinesbell]

[Well. That answers that. Sheena almost laughs as her eyes start to close. Much more tired than even she realized, is this ninja. She'll try to stay with it, though. No point in falling asleep just to get woken up again in a few minutes]
