[Alright. Time for some prescribed bluntness - idiotic-Fishman-go-lay-down-and-rest-because-I-just-had-to-preform-surgery-on-you-from-being-punched-through-the-chest-by-a-fist-of-burning-MAGMA type bluntness.]

Okay. Let's start at infection. The protective layers of your skin there are gone, leaving an environment rich for microbiological growth. And given what happened, your immune system is compromised... meaning you can get sick more easily.

Scratching at those can grind in bacteria, dirt... whatever's underneath your fingernails. Which, depending on what kind of bug takes hold, means fun with pus, inflammation, blood borne fever... rotting gangrenous flesh. Which means more drugs, more hospital time, scarring... possible removal of dead flesh if it gets worse. [Death.] Want me to go on?



That's a good thing that you feel nothing but the itch. It means the drugs they have you on are doing their job.

......Oh. Erm. Makes sense, I suppose.

[And THAT gets him to stop the itching.]

[Jack has had his suspicions about the capabilities of the so-called Straw Hat pirates in the past, Law; especially after Luffy interrupted his marauding spree with Blackbeard. He's GLAD no one is dead. Norrington would likely blame him for it, in the end.

That is an irrational concern, but that makes it no less of a real one to the pirate.]

[And so you extended your suspicions onto him. Lovely.

She's not his Nami. She's not nakama. ... she's a rival pirate. And that is complex.

... and yes, he did check in on her. Briefly.

[Jack's own voice was hoarse and quiet in response.]

[His head bows.] I've given her medication. That and rest, if she takes it, will eventually take care of the physical ills.

But what truly ails her... that's going to take time to heal. Time, care, [His eyes lift to fix on Jack's.] and friends.

[And possibly rum, Jack thinks privately. And if she'd like, both rum and himself. A nod.]

Of course. Friends, eh? And before we know it, she'll be right as rain once more.

....Never quite understood that expression, but that's neither here nor there.

[You're safer with just the rum, mate. B| Think of the Sanji, man. Think!]

... or hopefully near enough. [Head tilt] Want that glass of water over there?

Erm......if you'd be so kind.

[Ugh. Jack does not want Law's help with the water, but on the other hand? He can't remember when he's ever been this thirsty.]

Aa... alright. Here. [He trusts that you can take care of the actual drinking part by yourself. That glass is picked up and pressed into your hands.]

[After all, fingers full of something else are fingers not available for scratching at burns.]

[True facts! Gratefully, yet also grudgingly, Sparrow accepts the water and drinks it down slowly. The parched feeling disappears well before he sets the glass down on the corner of his bed.]

Right. Obliged, Law.

[Tipping his hat in response.] No problem. [He takes a swig of his own flask, rocking back on his heels thoughtfully.]

Anything you need or should I scoot and leave you to your peace?

[Being cared for by this strange pirate was not something Jack wanted.]

I've got McCoy, mate, and Mia. Raine. You'd best go off and...Norrington needs as many men as he can get in the fight.

[This isn't care. He's not inclined to do any serious tending to one of Blackbeard's nakama.

Aa. Rest well then, Captain. Good night.

[And with a last tip of his hat, Law ghosts out, silent as a specter, and barely disturbing the air with his passage.
