...Carrot. I think. Hopefully not corn.

[Because if it's corn, somebody really messed up somewhere.]

I dunno. Never been there, either.

[Ginia takes a tentative bite of the mysterious orange cube.]

/...Carrot.

Seems like there's a lot to explore here. Forest, mountains, beach, lake, has it all./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
It does. Not sure if it's natural though, or if the Malnosso are trying to make it comfortable for everyone best they can.
shadedsunlight: (What are we waiting for?)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
/If they wanted to make things comfortable, they could not kidnap us for experiments or haul us off to fight their war./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Think they're just trying some sort of psychology on us, really. Keep people happy, they're more likely to cooperate, even if you're the person who put them in a bad spot. Most folks just like to be comfortable. Give them that, and they'll forgive a whole host of things.
shadedsunlight: (You tried to reach deep)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
/Gilded cage is still a cage./

[Though even with those words, Ginia knows she's falling into the trap; it's not so much what the Malnosso have given her, but rather what she can get here from everyone else.]

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Won't argue with that.

Definitely makes it easier to like though, especially when you have no control of if, or when, you'd be able to leave.
shadedsunlight: (Should I just get along with myself)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
/How long have you been here?/

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
It'll be a full two years come January.
shadedsunlight: (You know I knew we were in trouble)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
/A long time here. Miss home?/

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[A hesitation before he answers.]

There's some people I'm worried about. Some things that aren't finished.

[There's not much to miss, really; he's never still long enough to lay down roots.]
shadedsunlight: (They talked of the stars and of rivers)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
/Always is. May you be able to check up on them and finish your business one day./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll happen, if stories from other folks who made it back home for a while are accurate.

As long as they're telling the truth about being put right back where you were before you got pulled here is true, at any rate.

[And that brings up so many questions, now, about his own situation. He came here infected, and wasn't anymore. If he went back at the exact same time he came in, regardless of how long he was here...would he still be infected?

Derek shoves that thought aside; now is not the time.]

How about you? Got people and places you're looking forward to seeing again?
shadedsunlight: (There's one thing I have to say)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
/Certainly be the most logical solution, even if it brings up problems of its own. Seems like such a shame to forget everything you learn here./

[Ginia mulls over his question as she nibbles on the bread roll. Hmm, needs some butter.]

/I have business to take care of. People to see./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder how much we really forget, though. People say they dream about Luceti when they go home, they just can't place what the dreams are about.

[The whole meal is lacking something. But then, it;s meant to keep them fed, not give them a gourmet treat.]

Think a lot of folks do. Got a place you like to go there?
shadedsunlight: (We hope everything works out)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
/That's interesting, I hadn't hear of that. It's logical enough. How can you remove months or years of experience from the body and mind?/

[Place to go... anywhere where there's either a good job or where no one can find her.]

/Somewhere nice. Peaceful. Though if we're talking about dream vacation spots...wouldn't mind traveling around Europe. Hit the major places and the hidden ones./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't know. What really makes me wonder is how you get dumped right back into the same body you had when you first got here. It's...like they take your soul in dump it in a boy here, or something. Only way I can figure that could work, if nothing at all changes back home, including you, while you're here.

...'course, you'd have to believe in a soul to believe in that as a possibility.

...I'd like to go back to Cali for a while. Surf and be a beach bum. Then I'd probably head for the mountains.
shadedsunlight: (The weather today is slightly sarcastic)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
/...While an interesting topic, this is a heavy conversation to have over a bad bowl of soup.

California. The lights, beaches, and beach babes. Not a bad place to hang around. Never did learn how to surf though. Mountains are nice./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I was born in Malibu. Kinda required to know how.

[He jests, mostly. As for the whole heavy thing, that's just...him picking at ideas.]

Ideal would be mountains at the edge of an ocean. Landslides could be a problem, though.
shadedsunlight: (That woman she's got eyes that shine)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-03 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
/That explains it. East coast here. Davenport.

You'd have to be careful of those. Still, the hiking and camping would be worth it./

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Nothing like getting high up and seeing nothing but ocean in front of you and sky above.
shadedsunlight: (Whatever makes you happy)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2011-09-04 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
/There's a lot to be said about open space and freedom./

Yeah, there is. Gotta appreciate it when you've got it.
