[Link nods slowly, fidgeting a little.] I hope he'll be okay...

[He's silent for a moment, head on Tsuzuki's shoulder, before he murmurs half to himself,] I hate having to kill.

Sheik's a good fighter. I saw him take down several people easily.

[Tsuzuki tenses with sympathy, his wings drooping. He's had to kill an enemy already. It happened so quickly that he couldn't simply injure them, and it's the worst feeling in the world. He holds Link to keep him from falling as he nods off.] Me too.

[Link nods slowly, still unable to actually sleep despite his body's need for it. He has to trust that Sheik will be able to keep himself safe - he had said he hated being coddled, hadn't he? But he was still worried...]

It's not fair. I never wanted to fight in their dumb war. I only fight to keep everyone safe.

I know. You're just doing it because you have no choice.

[Speaking of no choice, Tsuzuki can't help but feel he's trapped in the same way. He takes a shaky breath, trying his very best not to show that he's unhappy with being drafted. Hisoka shouldn't be at the front line, where all those emotions are running wild. None of them should have broken up from the group.]

If we die here, what do you think will happen?

We still come back. [He gazes out thoughtfully - how many people will die before they're sent home?] Vivi's mother died during one of the drafts, and she came back. [Of course, then she was sent home... so not so good.]

But... I don't know what happens if they manage to capture us.

I'm sorry she had to go through that. Did it take long before she did?

[Torture's what Tsuzuki's mind helpfully adds when Link talks about being captured. Worst of all, he can't really blame people for torturing him if he's killed one of theirs first. He'd be horrified if they tried to hurt Link, though.]

If they catch us, I'll make sure you get out.
