What:A long overdue dinner and a gathering of friends, new and old.
When: Early evening, Wednesday, September 14th
Where: CH 7, kitchen/dining area of floor 4 and maybe 5
Summary: A month ago, Ginia promised Giles, Frederic, and Helios dinner. Now that they're all finally back, and with new friends joining them, it's time to eat!
Rating: PG, PG-13ish if people want to get cuddly.

As discussed, no posting order due to all the people involved. First thread is cooking and set-up, second is for the actual dinner. If you want to do a specific thread (like Helios blowing something up), put any pertinant info in the subject. Timeline is roughly chronological, thread jump at will, and have fun! Prose or action tags are good.

...And let's not set CH7 on fire.

Frederic was making the pierogi for the dinner along with some mushroom salad and brought some peach mazurka for dessert. It felt great cooking all of this food from home and sharing it with people he cared for, especially Poland.

As he waits for the food to cook though, he looks around at the others to see how they're doing. He's a bit worried about Poland because of how shy he is around others, but he'll help him have a good time too.

Frederic wasn't the only one keeping an eye on Poland. Their first meeting hadn't exactly been ideal or even pleasant, a fact which was not lost on Frederic's housemate.

On the pretext of bringing over some extra mushrooms that hadn't fit into the stew, Giles takes a stand next to Frederic.

"How is everything?"

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Frederic turns to look at Giles, still remembering the last time they had spoken before allowing him to be apart of the play. He was still a bit sour about it, but he tried to let it go.

"Everything's fine, though I could ask you the same."

Giles, mostly for necessity's sake, had shoved most of that night into the far recesses of his memory, there hopefully to stay unless triggered by an experiment or angry housemate.

"Bit of a dash back here from the store, but overall things seem to be going quite well."

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Frederic sighs then looks at Giles with a slightly annoyed expression upon his face, since he needs to bring it up.

"I'm still not pleased with how you behaved that night, I hope you realize that."

Giles looks...rather aghast, at this.

"And you think I am?"

He almost hadn't been able to get out of bed the next day with the weight of his ridiculous and, above all, humiliating behavior hanging over his head.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Frederic shook his head, yet the expression he shows is still serious.

"I didn't say that, Giles. I'm simply telling you how I felt."

He then turned away to take out some tea cups and make tea.

"...I understand.

And I am sorry, and I'm...hoping to have the chance to explain things to Poland, at, at least."

Giles frowned sadly as Frederic turned away, but made no move to stop him. If he was still angry? Well, he had that right.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll explain things to him for you, I'm sure he's as bitter with you as I am." Frederic accidentally knocks one of the cups on the floor and it causes all of the tea in it to spill. "Oh, now I need to find something to clean this up."

Giles inhales sharply at his words, frozen in the act of kneeling down with some paper towels to help. He feels bile rise in his throat, and did his best to bite it back.

"...yes. Well. The next time you seem in a halfway decent mood, I'll just...take it as read that I've done something wrong, shall I?

...do you have any idea how, how selfish you sound? You had a week to mention to me that you were still upset. That he was still upset."

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well do pardon me for being busy with my play and trying to have a life with Feliks. Though if I may make a point? You seem to be good at not telling everything you do after weeks to me, yet me not saying anything for a week upsets you. You are truly something else, Giles."

Frederic leans down to clean up his mess and sets the tea cup down, the expression shown on his face is cold with some harshness in it.

"...you're sorry I came back."

It's a stupid, selfish, and above all childish thing to say. But Frederic's tone and his words reach right into Giles' mind and flip all of the switches that the Malnosso flipped, switches that have only just been unflipped. The belief behind those words is, at least, sincere.

And so Giles does the one thing he feels capable of doing there and then.

He beats a hasty retreat out of the kitchen.

And while Giles does that Helios had gone back to their kitchen to pick up the gogosi for dessert. He only manages to not run into Giles by sheer luck and thankfully all the doughnuts were sparred. Helios, pressed up against the wall, notes the other's distress. Something happened in those few minutes he was gone. Something very worrisome.

"Giles? Where are you going?" His question is sincere and his concern evident. Because really he does look upset and this was...this was supposed to be a nice happy dinner between the six of them.

"S-Sorry." Giles' voice is probably a very good indication that he's upset. He quickly whirls around even as he stumbles from the shock of nearly running into Helios.

...the look on his face might be an even better indicator that he's upset. Desperately trying to hide it, yes. But upset.

"S-Seems I, um, m-made a mess of things." He laughs bitterly, bringing a hand to his mouth to quiet the sound. "Again. Y-You, you shouldn't have invited me. This, this always happens." He quickly turns away, taking off his glasses to clean them and just overall ensuring that he has no chance of seeing the look on Helios' face.

"...s-sorry. Left, um, left Frederic in there to mop things up. S-Sure he can handle it."

"Why...Giles what happened?" Helios will put that try down a hand going to the other man's shoulder. He looks concerned. His eyes dart back to the kitchen a few feet down and then right back to Giles.

"You didn't make a mess of things..." Why would he say that? Unless him and Frederic...

"What did he say to you?" He knows that has to be it. But why now? Why was this happening on the one day they were supposed to be happy? Wasn't there enough grief most of the time.

Giles immediately takes a step back, out of range of Helios' hand. He takes off his glasses to clean them in shaking fingers.

"N-Nothing...nothing much, n-nothing he...d-didn't have a right to say." Giles takes a deep, shuddering breath, trying to steady himself against the horrors that had just been proven a little too fresh. "God, I'm...s-such an idiot...s-sorry..."

Helios looks hurt at that response and he immediately shies away. He flinches in tandem with Giles moving away.

"Stop. Please don't say that Giles. You're not...you're not an idiot." His expression has the thought 'why are thinking this' on his face right now.

"Y-Yes, actually, I th-think I am. It's just...god, I thought it would s-sound worse to, to actually explain, n-now that I'm back in my right mind, and..."

Right. Babbling. Unhelpful and only upsetting him further. Giles takes a few seconds to try and settle himself down.

"...w-when I came back. I, um, I think...that's w-what this is about."

"You weren't...you weren't in your right state of mind." That sounds worse than he meant it too.

"It was a mistake. You didn't even think we remembered you. Why should you have explained a-anything to anyone in that state?" He's sure if he was in the same position he would have do the same, would have tried to run. Helios sighs looking at Giles with worry, concern, it's all there right on his features.

"What you were going through..." it's not to say some explanation wouldn't have helped at the time. But everyone knew he had be taken. Everyone knew it was due to the Malnosso so...why.

Frederic watches Giles leave and says nothing, after all he said what he wanted to say and goes back to making tea. Once he's finished the tea, he'll sit and sit down without speaking a word even though he does see Helios has returned.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Frederic sees Ginia's words and sighs, he decides to speak after going into silence for those brief few minutes. "Giles and I fought."

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Frederic sips his tea then looks at Ginia's words again, afterward promptly replying. "I told him I didn't appreciate his behavior the other night and how he treated Feliks or myself. We were only trying to help him and he had the nerve to be that way."
