No, people handed me things because I am a troll and this is the bridge I live under. You'd ask people to pay, too, if they had to stomp across your roof. It's exceptionally annoying.

And then there is an awkward silence.]

Well, I guess defeating you heroically and returning all the goods is out of the question.

[Not that Nami terribly minds being a prince. She takes a step back and brandishes her sword.]

Come on out and fight, troll!

[Giles nods approvingly, at this. Well done. Very knight-like. He brandishes his paper mache claws before making a pretty swift exit from under the bridge to the top.] Grr. Argh.

...I heard that as the BTVS ending credits zombie.

[And Nami follows him, grinning at those claws, before...making the realisation she's carrying a very real sword. Oh. Dear.]

Have at thee! [Those? Are some distinctly wild swings that are designed not to come within a foot of you, Giles. She'll just have to find a way to kill you without killing you.]

Well, I'm glad SOMEONE finally got the joke.

[He can tell, Nami. And his mind is already whirling in an attempt to figure out the very same thing.

Fortunately, he's had practice this week in being slain without actually being killed. Taking advantage of the distance, he performs a quick survey of their environment.

Then, with a growl, he leaps up onto the bridge railing, balancing precariously.]

[Oh, perfect! Ingenuity is a wonderful thing. Nami presses forward, aiming a thrust that falls short of your chest.]

[Giles still leans back to avoid the blow...

...loses his balance...

...pinwheels his arms wildly...

...and falls over the bridge and into the river below with an almighty slash and a defeated howl.]

Ahh..heh. Sorry about that. [Still, for now she feels more herself as well, so after a moment's thought--] My house is really close by if you wanted to dry off. I can probably find some spare clothes if you need them.
