Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY
Rating: Worksafe, I reckon!
It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

The look like they'd be fun to go swimming in! Fishing too--are there a lot of different kinds in those lakes? Fish.

I think so! I've seen a lot when I go swimming - but I don't really fish much. [Thanks, Hisoka.]

I've been fishing a lot lately; my friends and I were travelling on a boat before I came here, and that is the easiest way to get food.

[quick smile.] I'm Yugo. What's your name?

Fresh fish is pretty good. [He will definitely concede that.] I'm Link. Are you a new feather?

I've only been here for a few days...so yes?

Oh - right! [Definitely a new feather.] I've been here for a while. It's really nice, once you get used to it!

It looks like a really nice place, even if the weather will take a little time. [As would a few other details...his life back in his home is a strangely complicated one for a boy so young.]

Uh huh - well, winter's over halfway over. It'll be warm again soon!

[He's looking forward to flowers and birds rather a lot.]

It will, won't it?

Want to go fishing then?

Go fishing? [He hesitates briefly, then shrugs non-committally.] Maybe you can fish and I'll swim. We can get fresh fish at the store, anyway.

This is true. [He's still getting used to the idea of a market where you can get baked goods and meat under the same roof. A couple of nice people were letting him stay by the lake anyway; there'd be plenty of chances to go fishing.

Not so with swimming, at least for a while. May as well take advantage of it. He hadn't had much chance to go swimming recently anyway.

He smiles.]

Since we're here...Wanna play?

[That gets a grin.] Sure! What do you want to do?

[See that smile? He's a good kid, but he can play rough too.]

Wanna race?

A swimming race? [Link eyes the pool - he's got pretty good at swimming, thanks to the Water Temple.] Or a different kind?

A swimming race of course! [They were in a pool, in the middle of winter. When would be the next better chance?]

Oh - okay! [Link grins as he moves to the very end of the pool.] How about to the end and back?

[Yugo joins Link, and braces himself against the wall when he gets there.]

Yeah, that sounds good. [Grin.]

Right! When I say 'go', okay? [Bracing for action!]

Ready when you are.

Okay! Three... two... one... GO! [And he's off, slicing through the water like Morpha itself was after him.]

[Yugo gives chase, quite well. Though a small kid, he's surprisingly strong. He peels through the water with the ease of a fish, using only his arms and legs. Portals would be cheating--his opponent wasn't his brother, who was a by far trickier opponent.]

[Link starts out strong, but while he's competent in the water, he's certainly not... fish-like.]

[By the time they reach the first end and turn around, Link might be starting to lag just a little.]

[Yugo's lagging too, though. It's not often that he does swim, and he has to work hard to keep up with Link's height and longer limbs.

He's enjoying himself, though--that's what counts.]

[The second lap is a bit slower than the first - Link is very good at rapidly escaping nasty aquatic monsters, but not so good at sustaining it. Whoops. Still, the end is in sight!]

[Yugo is fast--just not fast enough to keep up with a more experienced swimmer. He tries, he tries hard...but ultimately doesn't reach the wall first.]
