Luceti Town Meeting Cycle Year 5

Who: Everyone!
What: Town meeting
When: February 6th at 6 PM
Where: The school cafeteria
Summary: The village gets together for a town meeting. Let there be ideas, plans, and future festivities.
Rating:
With the help of some friends and friends of friends, the school cafeteria has been transformed into a meeting space. Rows of chairs and a few benches fill the space, providing adequate seating for whoever wishes to come to the meeting.

Along the back are some tables set with cookies, pastries, and tea, juice, and coffee for people to munch and sip on, before, during, and after the meeting

By the entrance is another table. On it sits a locked box with a slit on top, small sheets of blank paper, and a few pencils and pens. This is the message box, for anyone who wishes to express an idea or thought in an anonymous manner. The box will later be opened and all the messages inside will be read out loud by Ginia.

At the front sits a platform - one of the ones built for A Midsummer Night's Dream - with a table and chair resting on top. It's where Ginia will sit during the meeting, the extra height for the purpose of being able to see anyone who may be seated in the back row.

That's just gonna make me stick out even more ... [A complaint, but almost entirely to himself, as he follows that with--] But it's an idea, I guess. Especially if this whole thing ends up running a little long.

[He doesn't mind standing, but if this thing goes on for hours ... well, even he has his limits.]

[Freyjadour knew the drill when it came to meetings, at least, and unlike most his age he seems fairly comfortable taking a seat near the back of the room that is filled with adults. The only difference would be his appearance- his clothes are more formal, less that a teenager would wear and more that of an adult.

He wanted to hear about ideas people had for the coming year, especially when it came to safety in the village.]

Obi-Wan? [She really shouldn't be surprised that he's shown up early to assist, but it's still pleasant to see him here.]

[The grin hits as soon as he sees her.]

"Ah, Adele. I trust I'm not too late to help set up?"

[His grin is returned by a small one of her own.]

Not at all. We're still setting out chairs, I think we will have to resort to setting up benches in the back, however.

"Oh, good, good. Oh, er, how are you?"

[He begins moving over to the chairs as he speaks.]

[Adele continues as she had been, lining up the chairs and pulling more from the stacks.]

Better. I am...accepting things and letting them go, as I should. It has not been easy, but it is for the better, yes?

Re: THE MESSAGE BOX

[While Yuri did go on about Brave Vesperia the last time he said anything over the journal network, he was extremely short about the whole thing, due to ... situations. So, when he notices the message box there, he decides to write out something quickly and drop it in there, rather than go up and belt out some kind of ad for the guild. He's not shy, per se, but ... well, he'd just rather not go up to speak if he doesn't have to.

The following is written on a piece of paper--]

Our group is highly varied in skill and very flexible, so if it isn't shady or impossible, we'll get things done for you. "I'm glad to hear it. Offer to talk still stands, of course, if you ever need it."

[He carries a chair under each arm and sets them in position. Unfold. Unfold. Plunk. Plunk.]

"I've also been putting some thought into that problem you'd requested my assistance with."

Don't do anything that'll freak everyone out. We've got a lot of seriously on-edge people around here, I'm noticing.

I think after I work through some of the older aches on my own I will take you up on that Ben. [Another half smile as she moves over two chairs, lining them up with the rest. No, this was not her being overly precise. It just looked neater. Now, though, her voice is a little softer, wary. Not of Obi-Wan and his intentions, just the concept of dealing with this fear.]

"Red Saber"; mostly just listening in while trying to get a feel for the sorts of things Luceti concerns itself with the most. She may or may not make a suggestion, but it's likely she won't due to her being on a massive slowatus.

"Oh, yes. Well, my Sensitivity has been returning again, lately, and that does open up a lot of options."

...you have not been drinking more carbonated beverages, have you? Or running around and overshooting your jumps? [Still smiling, but her brow's quirked slightly. She had no doubt he would avoid soda for the rest of his stay here, and as he wasn't injured there was no need for concern. This was teasing, friendly teasing. And it felt nice that hse had a friend to tease.]

"Oh, my, no. I'd be far too terrified of your response."

[He flashes the grin again]

"No, I merely believed that it would be more useful in helping you maintain a calm, meditative state."

[The ability to sense when she was becoming too nervous or agitated and had to stop wouldn't be awful either.]

I should put this on my business card. Adele LeBlanc - Feared by Jedi Masters. [She ducks her head to laugh and rests her hands on the chair in front of her, grinning widely over at him once she's finished. The fact that she'll have no need of a business card should she leave Luceti no longer causes her much sadness or fear. This, she has accepted. It took a few nights, but it no longer bothers her as much as it once did. Even with Giles missing, the young girl leaving, she is content for the moment.]

You would be able to sense if I was distressed, yes? That is how your Force works. A kind of universal empathy in addition to the other abilities it gives you.

That sounds like it'd be a fun event for everyone and a good way to learn about other worlds. It's an excellent idea.

It would certainly be useful, though unless everyone has a cellphone, there's still a good portion relying on word-of-mouth. Fine if there's enough time to plan, but not during an emergency.

However, props to the person who figured it out. This could definitely be something.
