Luceti Town Meeting Cycle Year 5

Who: Everyone!
What: Town meeting
When: February 6th at 6 PM
Where: The school cafeteria
Summary: The village gets together for a town meeting. Let there be ideas, plans, and future festivities.
Rating:
With the help of some friends and friends of friends, the school cafeteria has been transformed into a meeting space. Rows of chairs and a few benches fill the space, providing adequate seating for whoever wishes to come to the meeting.

Along the back are some tables set with cookies, pastries, and tea, juice, and coffee for people to munch and sip on, before, during, and after the meeting

By the entrance is another table. On it sits a locked box with a slit on top, small sheets of blank paper, and a few pencils and pens. This is the message box, for anyone who wishes to express an idea or thought in an anonymous manner. The box will later be opened and all the messages inside will be read out loud by Ginia.

At the front sits a platform - one of the ones built for A Midsummer Night's Dream - with a table and chair resting on top. It's where Ginia will sit during the meeting, the extra height for the purpose of being able to see anyone who may be seated in the back row.

PRE-MEETING SOCIALIZING

[Maybe you've been helping with set-up. Maybe you came by early so you could grab more cookies get a good seat. Or maybe you've wandered in accidentally and aren't sure what's going on. Either way, feel free to mingle and mix around here before the meeting begins.]

[Were it anyone else running the meeting, Adele wouldn't have helped with the set up, and certainly wouldn't have made her way to the front for a better view. But...it was Ginia. And while she still hasn't read that letter she's certain there's something to the effect of 'look after' or 'support' involving Ginia and Helios. So she's here, as she said she would be.]

[While Ginia definitely isn't racing around like a chicken with her head cut off, she's been walking around at a brisk pace. With Ami off on her mission, and Giles... well, gone, running everything has fallen onto her shoulders.

Catch her at any point, whether she's personally thanking the people that pitched in with setting up and/or catering, grabbing a cookie and some water for herself, or off in a quiet corner looking over her notes.]

[Vash shows up close to the starting time. He's more here to see how these things are going to be run and held. Ooh! Are those cookies he sees? He'll be near the snack area until the meeting starts.]

PRE-MEETING SOCIALIZING

[Ami's on the mission and he was going to be here anyway. Had to show up as a representative of the clinics. And given last night's post that he discovered too late to reply to? He wants to be here for everything else.

So here's one Law ghosting in the door silently.]

[ Helios is going to be helping out in anyway possible. With Giles gone it's obvious that Ginia needs all the support and help she'll need for this sort of thing. So Helios will do just that and he'll be walking around setting up things and making sure there's enough food and the like to last the entire meeting. ]

[Yeah, Sokka showed up for the free food. All this town meeting stuff? Not a big deal. But, you know, he'll be over here representing the interests of the weapon shop while pigging out on the tea and cookies.]

[Rydia arrives early, helping with refreshments as promised. That won't stop her from socializing, though, and she'll stop to chat with any familiar or friendly faces nearby. It's been a long time since the last meeting, so she's curious to see how it will turn out--and who will show.]

Kid is just here to listen. He arrives promptly and immediately finds a place to stand in the back. He's still not sure about this place, but showing up at this meeting is probably the best way to gain new information.

[When Yuri arrives, he doesn't exactly do anything special, or really take note of much of anything. He just finds a nice spot along the wall, leans against it, and ... waits. Exciting stuff.

He's not too interested in saying or doing much at this meeting if he can get away with it, but as Brave Vesperia's current leader, he felt that not showing up would be a pretty poor decision. Still, even if he's keeping to himself, he doesn't seem to be trying to make himself completely unapproachable, for anyone who may want to say something to him before things get started.]

[Albert arrives a few minutes early and sits towards the back of the room, pulling out a book to read while he waits for the meeting to begin. Once in awhile, he will jot down a note in a separate book -- the beginnings of a grocery list. Nothing special.]

[You know... she's actually a little nervous to be here. It's an age thing, to be honest - this event is hosted by Ginia (in her thirties), will be attended by a lot of her friends (similarly old), most likely Albert and Raine (later 20s, she assumes (wrongly)), probably Brace Vesperia's leader (mid 20s, she assumes (wrongly)), the heads of the med center (later 20s, she assumes (possibly wrongly)) and clinic (...actually who's even manning that these days? Huh), and other people of notice like maybe Buffy Summers (mid 20s) or those naval officer guys (mid 20s)

...And here she is. While she is 20 years old, she is only physically 17 due to being sent home, only 5'2, and generally a Japanese teenager who thus may or may not look even younger. Haruhi's making a concentrated effort to look older here. She's dressed formally (perhaps more than is necessary), has her hair all straightened up (it's down to a little below her shoulders now) and her hair-ribbons are replaced with something more like this.

So yeah, she'll be looking uncharacteristically nervous before the meeting starts, despite showing up early]

[Wow there are a lot more people here than she had thought there might be. Who would have that a town meeting would include a whole bunch of people huh? Shocking. Anyway, wearing her school uniform for this occasion (given it's one of the smartest looking outfits she has on hand right now) Fuuko takes a seat and looks at who else showed up.

Not being the leader of some sort of group or anything like that makes her feel as though she stands out a bit, which is a strange twist on things seeing as she's not used to standing out, but if anything it's just her mind over thinking things.

Feel free to catch Fuuko sitting on her own and repeating the lines of the presentation she wants to give or just waiting for things to start. Of course she's brought along a starfish carving for the meeting which she's holding tightly onto.]

[Zenigata wanders in, looking as hail and hearty as ever. The Yeti troubles are one, and his project for a shack is going well. The meeting drew his attention, since it was a project aimed at civic preparedness and safety, two things he valued highly.

However, he immediately makes for the food...]

[Freyjadour knew the drill when it came to meetings, at least, and unlike most his age he seems fairly comfortable taking a seat near the back of the room that is filled with adults. The only difference would be his appearance- his clothes are more formal, less that a teenager would wear and more that of an adult.

He wanted to hear about ideas people had for the coming year, especially when it came to safety in the village.]

[Grune ambles in a fair bit before the start of the meeting. With Ginia running things, it's a safe assumption that some of that free food is courtesy of her (and thanks to the ever-watchful eye of Fenimore, it'll actually be quite good). She's not exactly going to be much help with any of the serious issues being raised, but by golly she's going to make people feel welcome.

Say hi to her anywhere, but especially around the refreshments. She'd love the company!]

[One will find the Devil Forgemaster leaning back against the wall near the door with one leg bent and his arms folded across his chest with an air of cool indifference. Of course, he soon tires of idleness and pleasantly preoccupies himself with sharpening the edge of his dagger on a rough stone not much larger than a bar of soap, the edge still crusted with blood from when he had plunged it into Trevor Belmont.

A smile tugs at his lips.

Of course, his business is not to be of assistance to anyone; why would it be? Rather, he wishes to eavesdrop so that he may know of what these men and women are plotting and see how he might be able to use such information to his advantage. While he hadn't been met with hostility upon setting foot into the room, he is certain the dear people of Luceti will very soon reveal their 'true' colours. They were all the same, in the end.]

[Derek is doing his usual lurking thing; he'll add a comment here and there once things start up, but really? He mostly wants to observe.]

[Beast arrives relatively on-time, but not too early either. He at first wasn't going to come, but then decides that he should at least know if there's something important going on unbeknownst to him. He's mostly keeping out of sight, though, settling himself in the corner eventually to save space at the table. If anyone catches him, he'll be... standing there looking rather overwhelmed by all the people.]

[The bright red jacket is the only thing that gives Lupin away as he sidles into the meeting and hangs in the background, intent on sipping his coke and listening with open ears and an even more open mind. With recent events still weighing heavy on his thoughts, he figures that this is as good a time as any to gauge how the community-at-large feels about things.

He doesn't know what to expect; he doesn't even really care. Though he makes his thoughts about Luceti no secret to those who ask, he's aware that others don't necessarily feel the same way. He won't ask too many questions. But he will listen. Closely.]

[Natalia is here, having wanted to help in some way, either she's arranging chairs or she's simply watching with sharp, determined eyes. She's here to meet people who want to help--just as she wants to do.]

[Tear made it a high priority to attend this meeting ever since the announcement was made last week. Though she's worried about Luke, those who did not know her very well would only see a young woman determined to help in whatever way she can, paying rapt attention to each person attending.]

[As always, with something structured and solid like this, Robert wants to be a part of it. This is the closest, besides S.H.E.L.L., that anybody has ever gotten to some kind of organized scientific committee, and so he is trying his best to contribute.

Still, he's anxious dealing with the sheer number of people, and so he tends to the edges of the meeting even now, organizing things (repeatedly) to channel his nervousness elsewhere and fiddling with his lab coat's sleeves when he's not.
