Luceti Town Meeting Cycle Year 5

Who: Everyone!
What: Town meeting
When: February 6th at 6 PM
Where: The school cafeteria
Summary: The village gets together for a town meeting. Let there be ideas, plans, and future festivities.
Rating:
With the help of some friends and friends of friends, the school cafeteria has been transformed into a meeting space. Rows of chairs and a few benches fill the space, providing adequate seating for whoever wishes to come to the meeting.

Along the back are some tables set with cookies, pastries, and tea, juice, and coffee for people to munch and sip on, before, during, and after the meeting

By the entrance is another table. On it sits a locked box with a slit on top, small sheets of blank paper, and a few pencils and pens. This is the message box, for anyone who wishes to express an idea or thought in an anonymous manner. The box will later be opened and all the messages inside will be read out loud by Ginia.

At the front sits a platform - one of the ones built for A Midsummer Night's Dream - with a table and chair resting on top. It's where Ginia will sit during the meeting, the extra height for the purpose of being able to see anyone who may be seated in the back row.

[His grin is returned by a small one of her own.]

Not at all. We're still setting out chairs, I think we will have to resort to setting up benches in the back, however.

"Oh, good, good. Oh, er, how are you?"

[He begins moving over to the chairs as he speaks.]

[fleurdesel]

[Adele continues as she had been, lining up the chairs and pulling more from the stacks.]

Better. I am...accepting things and letting them go, as I should. It has not been easy, but it is for the better, yes?

"I'm glad to hear it. Offer to talk still stands, of course, if you ever need it."

[He carries a chair under each arm and sets them in position. Unfold. Unfold. Plunk. Plunk.]

"I've also been putting some thought into that problem you'd requested my assistance with."

[fleurdesel]

I think after I work through some of the older aches on my own I will take you up on that Ben. [Another half smile as she moves over two chairs, lining them up with the rest. No, this was not her being overly precise. It just looked neater. Now, though, her voice is a little softer, wary. Not of Obi-Wan and his intentions, just the concept of dealing with this fear.]

...You have?

"Oh, yes. Well, my Sensitivity has been returning again, lately, and that does open up a lot of options."

[fleurdesel]

...you have not been drinking more carbonated beverages, have you? Or running around and overshooting your jumps? [Still smiling, but her brow's quirked slightly. She had no doubt he would avoid soda for the rest of his stay here, and as he wasn't injured there was no need for concern. This was teasing, friendly teasing. And it felt nice that hse had a friend to tease.]

"Oh, my, no. I'd be far too terrified of your response."

[He flashes the grin again]

"No, I merely believed that it would be more useful in helping you maintain a calm, meditative state."

[The ability to sense when she was becoming too nervous or agitated and had to stop wouldn't be awful either.]

I should put this on my business card. Adele LeBlanc - Feared by Jedi Masters. [She ducks her head to laugh and rests her hands on the chair in front of her, grinning widely over at him once she's finished. The fact that she'll have no need of a business card should she leave Luceti no longer causes her much sadness or fear. This, she has accepted. It took a few nights, but it no longer bothers her as much as it once did. Even with Giles missing, the young girl leaving, she is content for the moment.]

You would be able to sense if I was distressed, yes? That is how your Force works. A kind of universal empathy in addition to the other abilities it gives you.

"One of many advantages, yes. Certainly an advantage when dealing with a delicate issue such as this."

I can see how it would be useful. I am glad that it's returned to you, and not only because it would be helpful. It must be distracting at the very least to be without something you've been connected to for most, if not all, of your adult life.

[averybadfeeling]

"It has been somewhat stressful. I now feel confident enough to offer my services in defense of the village as a combatant or scout, though."

[fleurdesel]

You will be cautious though, yes? I do not wish to see you in the professional sense more than I truly need to Ben. [Though in a casual sense, she wouldn't mind running into him more often. Still. She attempts a stern look, and fails, smiling instead.]

And that is not an invitation for you to hide any illness or injury you may obtain while scouting.

[averybadfeeling]

"I wouldn't dream of it, Doctor."

[fleurdesel]

Good. I have enough of that to deal with in the house between Ginia and Helios.

[averybadfeeling]

"Don't worry. I have no desire to become wounded or killed doing anything foolish."

[Of course, it wasn't foolish if it was necessary for whatever reason, but perhaps he wouldn't mention that bit.]

[fleurdesel]

[She's onto you Obi-Wan, and it gives her pause. She sighs and turns to face him.] I cannot ask you to avoid injury when you are doing something that isn't foolish, can I Ben? Just...try to be careful.

[averybadfeeling]

"I'm always careful. Before I came here, careful was my specialty."

[No, really, he'll have to tell her about the philosophy of Soresu some time.]

Then there is nothing for me to be worried about. [She chuckles and goes back to straightening the chairs.] Not that it will make me worry any less, but. [SHe shrugs.]

[averybadfeeling]

"You needn't worry about me. If anything should happen to me, for whatever reason, one must accept it and move on, yes?"

[fleurdesel]

At this point all I can promise is that I will try, Ben. And yes, I know there is no 'try', but I would rather not make a liar out of myself by saying I can, and will, when I am not certain.

[averybadfeeling]

"I'm actually a bit less staunch on that point than Yoda was, under most circumstances."

[fleurdesel]

Then should anything happen to you, I promise to try to accept it and move on. I do not know if I will manage but...I can say I won't [She waves a hand in the vague direction of the doors and snow] Do anything foolish. Indulge in any negative emotions.

[averybadfeeling]

"I'm glad to hear that."

[A grin.]

"Besides, from what I understand, if one dies here they simply come back with some sort of penalty. Missing a limb, or blind, or without some vital memory. Something of that nature. I assure you, I could adjust to something like that easily enough."

[fleurdesel]

Because now death is cheap and still not at all traumatic for anyone involved? [She offers him something of an arch look, not irritated at him, but rather at the circumstances.] And calling blindness or a missing limb a 'penalty' as though this were some kind of game-

[Adele cuts herself off, takes a deep breath and releases it. Nothing to be done. She cannot change this. Accept. She manages after awhile.] I would rather not see anyone struck blind, but it is better than remaining dead.
