Luceti Town Meeting Cycle Year 5

Who: Everyone!
What: Town meeting
When: February 6th at 6 PM
Where: The school cafeteria
Summary: The village gets together for a town meeting. Let there be ideas, plans, and future festivities.
Rating:
With the help of some friends and friends of friends, the school cafeteria has been transformed into a meeting space. Rows of chairs and a few benches fill the space, providing adequate seating for whoever wishes to come to the meeting.

Along the back are some tables set with cookies, pastries, and tea, juice, and coffee for people to munch and sip on, before, during, and after the meeting

By the entrance is another table. On it sits a locked box with a slit on top, small sheets of blank paper, and a few pencils and pens. This is the message box, for anyone who wishes to express an idea or thought in an anonymous manner. The box will later be opened and all the messages inside will be read out loud by Ginia.

At the front sits a platform - one of the ones built for A Midsummer Night's Dream - with a table and chair resting on top. It's where Ginia will sit during the meeting, the extra height for the purpose of being able to see anyone who may be seated in the back row.

Well, if anyone ever thought you've been living around me too long, they've got proof of it now.

[Even if he's acting somewhat exasperated, she may be able to pick up on the fact that he's really fairly amused by what she's doing. ... Though he wasn't lying, he's really thinking she's probably been around him for far too long if she's doing things like this.]

If there's one thing I wouldn't recommend, it's standing in my shoes. That'll just make the front door fall over more often.

I'm not sure there's anything we can do to avoid that.

Using the window seems to be helping a little! ... But I'm pretty sure it loosens it's hinges anyway out of spite, whenever I pass by it.

[... It may be a little tough to tell whether he's being serious or kidding with that one. Possibly because he's both joking and being serious about that whole thing, himself.]

I'm pretty good at climbing into places through windows. I'll be fine.

What do you think of the meeting so far?

I think there are a few good ideas being thrown around, but I'm getting the feeling people are a little too wound up here. Either the drafts are getting to them, they're naturally like that, or I missed something ...

You mean the seriousness? I agree, but I also think being prepared isn't such a bad idea.

[trueknight]

Being prepared is just fine. Even if it ends up being unnecessary, it's better than getting blindsided by something. [shrug] I don't know. Maybe this place has gotten me too jaded to get worked up about a lot of what's being brought up here.

I suppose it feels like things always return to normal on their own. I'm not sure that's the best way to be thinking, though.

That's not what I meant. What I'm saying is, I don't feel the need to get as into the ideas being brought up as some others seem to be - especially since most of what they're going off of are "maybes" and "what ifs". I'd rather prepare for and run myself ragged over what's in front of me, or what I know could happen, not what might possibly happen.

You would say something like that... But I understand. It's good to be prepared, but not so wrapped up in it that we lose sight of what's in front of us right now.

Yeah, exactly. Not that I'm full of ideas for what we've got in front of us, either, but I'm really hoping this doesn't end up being all about preparations for what-if scenarios.

I'm sure we can come up with some practical ideas. Do you have anything, Yuri?

[trueknight]

Not right this minute, no. If I had some time to think about it, maybe I'd come up with a few things.
