[Rydia accepts the hug, but shakes her head.]

I'm not mixed up, Grune. I remember it all clearly. So does Link--just ask him!

[She will--but a little later. Right now, she doesn't want to upset Rydia.]

It's all right. Why don't we have some pie now?

[mistlegacy]

[It's not Grune's fault, of course. Rydia's already been worked up by having to explain obvious realities to people who should already know. But she smiles, not about to fight her appetite when that apple pie looks and smells so enticing.]

Alright. Let me get the knife, if you can snag a couple of plates? And what do you want to drink?

Do you have any tea made?

[Grune goes directly to where the plates are kept without asking and sets out a pair.]

There's some mint iced tea in the fridge, but if you want hot tea, I can put the kettle on.

[Returning to the pie, Rydia begins carving up the whole thing into equal slices. No letting the boys cheat and carve bigger ones.]

Oh, no, that sounds lovely.

[Again perfectly naturally, she opens the fridge and pulls out the pitcher. Now what does she need next...?]

[mistlegacy]

[It's a little surreal to see her so comfortable around the house, though Rydia's not complaining.]

...okay, there we go. The pie's all set!

And I can get the glasses. Please, have a seat.

[Comfortable though Grune may be, she's still a guest and Rydia doesn't want her doing all the work.]

All right. Thank you, Rydia!

[She immediately heads to her usual seat and sits down. Now whose chair might this be?]

[mistlegacy]

You're welcome.

[She snags a pair of tall glasses for them, then smiles as she she heads back to the table.]

That's where Kain usually sits. It gives him a good view of the outside, so he can look for Toothless.

[lostinmyway]

It is? [She looks down at where she's sitting, confused. Doesn't Kain usually sit over there?

Oh well. She doesn't want to take his place, and so she rises with the intent to change spots.]

[mistlegacy]

It's okay! I didn't mean that you should change spots. Kain's not here, anyway, right?

[At least, that's how she sees it. Before she sits down, Rydia serves a slice of pie for them both.]

This is wonderful, Grune. I wish I could manage it half as well, but pie isn't my forte.

[Grune settles back down. It's too bad Kain isn't here--but maybe she can see him a little later.

At Rydia's compliment, she smiles happily.]

Thank you! Maybe the next time you want to make a pie, we could bake it together.

I'd love that! Maybe Rosa would be interested, too.

[lostinmyway]

[At Rosa's name, she visibly perks up...more than she already is, somehow.]

Oh, that would be wonderful! I'd love to bake with both of you!

[mistlegacy]

[That brings out a quick smile.]

You two have had the chance to bond a little more, then?

[lostinmyway]

[That's a bit of a strange way to put it, and for a moment, Grune is thrown. But then her brain comes up with an explanation.]

Oh, yes. We're always getting closer every day!

[mistlegacy]

I'm glad; I've always wanted Rosa to get to know more people around here.

[Mmm, that pie. Rydia will definitely make a note to pester Grune about helping make another soonish.]

[lostinmyway]

[Okay, not even Grune's mind can reconcile that one.]

But I've known Rosa for a very long time.

[mistlegacy]

[What. Rydia clears her throat after swallowing that last bit, before she starts choking.]

...and how long is that?

[lostinmyway]

Why, since she was little, of course.

[Doesn't she know this already?]

[mistlegacy]

[And the rest of that pie is entirely ignored, for now.]

What?!?

...that's not possible. Not even remotely. We met you here, not in my world.

[lostinmyway]

[She shakes her head.]

No, that's not right. I met you in Kaipo with Cecil.

[It's something that's stayed quite solidly in her head. In addition to having met one of her dear friends, she won't ever forget being that worried about Rosa.]

I wish, but....

[Rydia rests her face in her hands, heaving a sigh.]

...it's the Malnosso again. It must be. They're behind this.

Behind what?

[She's so very confused right now.]

[mistlegacy]

Behind that missing day, why I remember Link being from Mist and you don't...and now this. None of it makes sense, but it wouldn't be the first time they've messed with memories.
