He often tries to get out of going. He was this way at home, as well...

At home? [He frowns further at that particular comment.]

[wise_maiden]

You know that I taught him in Iselia.

[chikaidestroyer]

Apparently not. [He sounds exasperated. Barely two hours awake and this experiment was already proving to be very encompassing.] You remember him as a student?

[wise_maiden]

That's right... he didn't go on the journey with us, so you wouldn't have known him from that.

[chikaidestroyer]

You ... would not have been able to teach him strategy, though. I recall him as a war strategist.

[wise_maiden]

... No. The war strategist is you. He started looking up to you, once he moved in with us.

[chikaidestroyer]

[Well, he supposes that makes more sense than a teenage boy being a war strategist. But he's still skeptical.]

I suppose we will have to see if anyone else shares these perceptions of ourselves.

[After beating the eggs in the bowl, he pours them in the second pan he had set up on the stove.]

If not for the fact that the conversation would likely end in a large headache, I would ask what you recall of drafts and missions.

[wise_maiden]

Hopefully we won't stumble into anything else more jarring.

[She sips at the coffee again.] It might be interesting to compare at another point, once we've figured out... and accepted... more about this situation. Right now it sounds like we mostly have personal details confused.

[chikaidestroyer]

Well, we have primarily been talking about personal details. If those are changed significantly, we will likely run into other issues trying to analyze the larger scope. [He didn't want to even breach questions such as who was in charge of other contingents if the boy he had thought was a war strategist was in fact just a lazy schoolboy.]

So for now... [He trails off, emphatically flipping the hashbrowns in the oil.]

[wise_maiden]

For now, there's breakfast. We'll be better able to analyze the scope of the issues once we've had fuller stomachs, and after the rest of the town starts speaking up.

Indeed.

[With that, he falls silent, concentrating instead on not burning the meal. He transfers the hash browns and eggs to plates, then pops some bread in the toaster before setting the ham in a pan to warm up.]

[Raine falls quiet as well, focusing on the rest of her coffee. It might be time for another cup. So many strange contradictions in such a short period of time.]

... Is there anything I can assist with? [Probably a useless question, as he's already done most of the work.]

[chikaidestroyer]

I'm almost done, but if you can add more bread to the toaster, that would be helpful.

[He shuts off the stove and moves the pans off the hot burners, moving the ham onto the plate with eggs. He then goes to get more plates and eating utensils.]

[wise_maiden]

Understood.

[She sets her cup down and heads over to the toaster. She retrieves the toast that's already popped out, while sticking in two more slices.]

[Albert says nothing further, simply collecting the plates and utensils and setting them on the counter.]
