I've noticed. In any case, the situation was caused by a shift; it's not so much memory loss, but from what I've seen, memory conflicts. It wouldn't be the first time we've experienced something along these lines.

Yeah, I know it's not the first time but I guess we're just hoping for a way to reverse it before they decide they want to reverse it. It's getting annoying trying to justify everything just because people can't remember.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to try and dig deeper into the matter. Mostly, trying to find a common ground between all of the inconsistencies. Taking differences in name, and background, and perceptions into account. No one here may really be right at all in what they remember, unless we do find someone who is unbiasedly unaffected. Although given how much perception is taken into account, they wouldn't know enough about everyone here to know for certain, anyway.

That's why Toxona and I are holding interviews with people later today to try and see if there is anyone left who's unbiasedly unaffected. From the sounds of it, there aren't many. Even everyone in my house can't remember the same things.

...are you unaffected?

I've run into my own sets of conflicts. Of course, I can't be certain if that's me, or them. Although, as I see it; most recollections seem to be shared by at least two people. There will be one person that can verify another's story. If more than two people can verify what they remember about a person, then you've likely stumbled upon the actual situation.

The trouble is getting people to accept that they may be the ones altered in the first place. That's why it's sometimes better to let it run its course, rather than forcing the situation on them.

[Yeah, okay. Roxas knows that Raine's right...but his drive to get to the bottom of things is a little higher than his want of letting things run its course.]

I don't think I've met more than two people that remember things. I guess it still just bothers me that this keeps happening to me. [This isn't the first time he's had all of his memories altered and given an alternate life.]

It can be frustrating. Ever since the earthquake a few years ago, it feels like our lives are being overwritten more often than not. Thankfully it's not as bad as last year -- we're at least aware that there is a problem.
perplexme: (wonder)

[personal profile] perplexme 2012-04-12 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
So if they can overwrite us, we should be able to overwrite back, don't you think? You've been here longer than me, Raine...how possible is that?
wise_maiden: (there is something curious about this)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2012-04-12 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
We don't have access to their technology, Roxas. They use machinery to generate the shifts that are set upon the village, and we don't have the insight to how it was created. We also have to keep in mind that inside the barrier, anything we'd try to do wouldn't be as effective.

However... do you remember the missions? One of the rewards is a bracelet that apparently can cancel any shifting effects placed on the user... for one use only. It might be something to look into, should anyone decide to obtain one.
perplexme: (uncertain)

[personal profile] perplexme 2012-04-13 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[He just looks increasingly frustrated as Raine reminds him about that tiny little detail. It still stinks. However...]

...really? How hard do you think it is to get one?
wise_maiden: (but we give up easily)

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2012-04-13 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd need to accumulate a certain amount of reward points for it. So I suppose it would depend entirely on what you're willing to do, should the opportunity arise.
perplexme: (I'll never understand)

[personal profile] perplexme 2012-04-14 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Anything at that point. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. ...you don't think that's stupid, do you?
wise_maiden: (thankful for small favors)

I think it says a lot for your determination.
perplexme: (determined)

It's all I've got left.
