Time is something I've got plenty of. [But how long he has it for, no one knows. He gets up and walks over to the docks where his skiff is and unties it.]

Hop on, I'll get it started up.

[Right-o. Jixsan immediately complies, stationing himself in a corner while he waits for Ace to get started]

[And now that Ace has everything properly set up, he turns to Jixsan.]

I'd be pretty disappointed if you didn't.

[Ha. "Disappointed". Whatever, the sentiment is close enough]

[He smirks, and let's his flames burst out and sending the skiff propelling across the water.

Uh. Better hold onto the mast, Jixsan.]

[concasse]

[Oh, he sat his ass down, already knowing what to expect. It's the second or third time that Ace has taken him on one of these joy rides, from his perspective.

And he never gets tired of it. The placid, relatively unemotional expression from before relaxes into an easy grin, the farther they travel away from shore.

Because it doesn't matter so much, if he can't feel anything. Jixsan still feels alive when he's out here]

[He'll just let himself go crazy, sailing at a fast pace and doing sharp turns just because he can. This is what he loves. Even just this little extra bit of freedom helps him unwind and just let go of everything.

It's not long before the shore is slightly blurred, and Ace slows down for them to just look at it for a bit.]

... heh. I remember when I could just keep going... and the shore would just become a little line on the ocean.

[concasse]

Back on your world, you mean? [he doesn't turn when Ace speaks, but his voice is attentive nonetheless.]

Mhm. Felt a lot freer then. [Nothing like this damn barrier trapping him in.]

[concasse]

I think we all did. [His gaze flicks up towards the sky]

This prison isn't small, but nothing compared to some of the worlds I've seen.

[hiken_ace]

You've seen multiple worlds? [His interested is now piqued.]

That's right. One of the perks of being what I am.

Mm, can't say I have. What exactly are they?

From where I come from? [He taps the right side of his chest, where the heart should reside] More than possible.

... so you literally don't have a heart...

That's right. Not the best existence to have.

That's right. [Even if he has no heart, can't truly feel emotions... well.

He feels the sea breeze right now, doesn't he? His lungs are full of salty air. The sun is angled high above them, making his skin warm to the touch. And he has his friends, even if some of them don't remember.

Jixsan smiles a real smile for perhaps the first time since the experiment started]

I don't care anymore that I shouldn't have been born. Mistake or not, I'm here. [He makes himself comfortable on the wooden floor]

[Mistake or not, I'm here. That makes Ace pause for a while. After a few minutes, he smiles to himself.]

If I had a drink, I'd drink to that.

[The visible eye slits open in restrained amusement]

I could always get us a quick bottle if you want. A few drinks on the sea.

Oh, now I haven't had that in forever. Sounds great. [Sanji, he will be forever grateful.]
