[Not a surprise - Hematite has been getting a lot of attention this week. This would strike Robert as really odd, if he hadn't already realized by this point that there's a Shift going on.

Still, he's awkwardly attached to the memories he has. He doesn't... know his supposed life...

So yes, he does recognize Mithos himself, but... he's going to work from the perspective of... being the Pokémon scientist, and not the "Terran" his journal says he is. Even if that's wrong.]

... Hematite is my Pokémon pet, yes... he is a Magnemite.

I am... simply a scientist. I study Pokémon closely, and at one point I was... doing research into Pokémon genetics...

I know Gold-san a little, and Silver-san...and I've met some of their Pokemon, of course. So you study Pokemon? That's amazing!

I certainly think so. They are... wonderful creatures, are they not? And such diversity. One could... spend years engrossed in their behaviour, and all the many myriad diversity of their types...

[Thoughtfully:] Though... animals here are interesting too.

[He remembers learning their names for the first time. So very strange... Some are just so similar to the names of Pokémon.]

Yeah... The Pokemon I've seen are all really interesting! We don't have animals like that in my world, so it's surprising to see the kinds of things they can do. [he laughs a bit]

The animals here are more like the ones I know from back home. ...Ah, except they can't talk back home.

... Truth be told, I... still find that unusual. Pokémon do not speak in the same way people do, either - they tend to repeat their own names.

... Mewtwo, and a few others, are capable of speaking, but they tend to be powerful Psychic-types if... they have the ability.

It is a little funny, how they only say their names. I wonder how well the different species understand each other...

I guess it takes a lot of brain power to be able to speak, right? [herpderp old-school Japan how am does psychology and cognition studies?]

... From what we know, Pokémon do not seem to have any particular difficulty with communication amongst each other, and the majority seem to be able to understand human language with no issue.

... I believe so, though... the specifics are not well-known, especially not with Pokémon. That is, of course, what our jobs are for. [And he smiles a little.]
