[Having lived with his suspicions about being affected by an experiment for a good part of a week, Albert has been trying to capture as much as he can of his life in writing. Real or not, he wanted the written history to comparison with his past and possible Shift-based memory alterations.

When the corrective Shift takes effect and he is left with a journal and memories that are fading far too quickly, he unconsciously touches where he had previously been wearing an Exsphere. A parasite... Really.

Even as those memories fade, other memories flow in to integrate with what he remembers. A day in a world that was not Luceti. A day exposed to sights and sounds that were not going to be shifted away at a moment's notice.

He spends the 9th near home, contemplating as he tends to his garden.

On the 10th, he heads to the bar and the shops to keep his mind distracted from lingering on distant, shifted memories. Maybe he'll even go to the battle dome to see if driving a simulator helps in any way.]

[Of everyone who could have stopped by to bother him, Yun probably didn't even make the list, yet here she is. She had knew just enough to leave the Silverberg brothers be during the past week. It would have been a chore to convince Caesar that he wasn't from another world and, well, she could assume Albert figured it out all on his own!

But she is going to take the time to check up on them, so here she is, standing a polite distance away and watching him work on his garden for a quiet minute or two. Of course, she chooses to speak up before he just notices her observing him, since it'd be a little weird if she didn't...]

Is everything back to normal here, too?

[As normal as normal could be here, anyway.]

[Albert pauses in his work at the question, glancing over his shoulder at the young girl. He remains expressionless for a moment, as if trying to figure out why exactly she was there, before he returns his attention to clearing out weeds under the azalea bush.]

Things are back to normal, yes. You were not affected this past week?

[There isn't exactly much else for her to do in the aftermath other than check on people and if Albert is normal again, then Caesar must be as well. She won't even have to look in on him, then.]

I wasn't, even though I did go to another world. That seemed a little strange with how many other people were affected from that...

[That's worth a longer pause. There were always people who would be affected differently by these experiments, but this was the first mentioned to him in person.]

Perhaps you were fortunate. Having additional memories combined with your own is rather disorienting.

[...He says to the seer.]

Perhaps.

[The irony of his statement isn't lost on her, but for the sake of not confusing him -- or worse, having to explain -- she won't laugh at it.]

But I think I'll always wonder what I would have been like if I had grown up in Japan, or who Rise may have become if she'd come from our world.

The possibilities are interesting, yes. They do keep one wondering long after the shift has ended.

[The trouble with having memories of the shift intact.]

Depending on one's preference, they may even start desiring one of those possibilities.

That's not surprising. There's plenty of people here who wouldn't mind a new start somewhere else, but that could get complicated...

[Worlds already have enough potential timelines without people deciding to drop out and leave gaping holes in those! Not that those would be any of her business, not unless it happened to her own world. But that was stable enough to handle one missing little spirit, wasn't it?

She falls silent a moment, idly considering asking if he's ever preferred one of those possibilities, but no. She won't. She's only a random child from the Grasslands to him, not someone to be asking such personal questions.]

Do you think we'll ever see something like that again? The world anchoring, I mean. That seemed too big to only mess around with once.

[He frowns at the question. While he would prefer not to go through such an experience again, this was unfortunately Luceti, and thus what one would hope was a fluke could happen again.]

The possibility is there, certainly; now that the information is out there, there may be attempts to recreate the original intent of the experiment. And with those attempts come the possibility of mistakes like this.

...One can only hope not to be here whenever those attempts are made.

[Unless one is unlucky enough to have nothing to go back to.]

Or perhaps one of them will get it right. Though, the mistakes do have an endless possibility when it involves so many different worlds.

That is likely the reason why there has been such little headway in terms of that research; with so many worlds represented, there are many possible errors that must be dealt with. [But why is he discussing this with such a young child? There was little point.]

[What a week. But now it was over, leaving her with a mild headache. Both her housemates thought they were from her world? Really? ... Although there was something hollow in the fact that it wasn't true. Such were experiments.

It's a good day for restful activity. While Albert works on the garden, she finds a non-muddy place to set up some painting supplies. They hadn't talked much during breakfast; things were still settling in then.]

... How are you feeling?

[He doesn't pause in his work. Doesn't answer right away. He just continues working.]

Fine. There were few lasting effects from last week.

For someone who's fine, that took a long time to answer.

Analyzing silence now? [He sets down his trowel to rake at some dead leaves under a bush with a gloved hand.]

We've had a lot of it already this morning.

[He sets the dead leaves aside.]

Then perhaps you should consider that it's you who has something to say, Raine. Silence, in this case, is mutual, after all.

Does it trouble you? We have had these reality shifts before ... though not as a side effect of another shift.

How so? [He glances over, though not for long.]

Well, you did just have first hand experience of my world. What did you think? [Particularly considering how unrealistic he often referred to the situation as.]

Was there anything in particular that stood out for you?

The ... spirits. Sheena's being a summoner has come up before, and I had heard of Volt, but the comparisons between the Summon Spirits and the Filial spirits are much more apparent now.
