After months of planning and roping in poor, innocent people to help out with some of the work it's finally done. An actual festival, all for the starfish.

The morning of the 14th mostly consists of people arriving, the stalls being brought in and decorations being put up. It's all about the preparation! Most of the decorating consists of banners and streamers you might find at a school festival, all hung around doors and windows and between the buildings in the plaza. And star shaped pieces of card being stuck up here and there in places too. If the decorations don't tell you what's going on then the banners saying 'STARFISH FESTIVAL' certainly will.

Come midday the festival is in full swing. There's plenty of food at many of the stalls (either prepared by Fuuko and the other girls or brought in by other villagers) ranging from cake, ice cream and different kinds of sweet things, to starfish tea, sandwiches, all sorts of festival fare. There are a few games set up too where it's possible to win starfish related prizes like pins, badges and even plush toys and some stalls are even giving out wind chimes. Finally there's also a little entertainment provided with music being played in the background throughout most of the festival. (You should totally go listen to Kotomi giving her very own violin recital.)

By night time when most of the food is gone there will be a fireworks display to bring an end to the festival. Hopefully the Starfish Festival would be a day to remember!

(You didn't need to receive an invite in order to come, that was just the girl's attempt at getting word of the festival out there. The festival is open to anyone and everyone to come along and have a good time.)

Oh, n-no, it wasn't that... We just waited a while since she wanted to have the festival during a time where it was warmer. [Fuuko didn't come during winter, but it was still a little too soon to start throwing festivals. And by the time she was here long enough... it was too cold!]

Seems like she picked a good time then, especially considering the summers here. I'm impressed. I didn't think she had it in her to plan so well.

Well, the festival is really important to her, after all. So she made sure to put a lot of thought and effort into it to make it as best as possible! And it paid off, since it all turned out wonderfully, I think.

I'm not so sure about wonderfully, but not horribly. I'll give her that. Think she'll do it again then?

Mm... Maybe! I haven't really asked her yet. If she does, I don't think it'll be for a while though... But we have talked about having a dango festival sometime! So I think that would be very similar to this.

...E-eh? [..Oh dear. Now she's slightly embarrassed.] Do you not think that's a good idea...?

Hm? No, it's not that...it's just...funny. That's all. [UGH FUCK WHY DO WE FEEL COMPELLED NOT TO HURT NAGISA'S FEELINGS.]

[Oh, Draco... Nagisa tilts her head, clearly confused.] O-oh, I see... How is it funny though?

Ironic in a sense. Never mind, forget about it.

[You're confusing her even more, Draco! But..] O-okay then, Draco..! But um.. Aside from that though... are you enjoying the starfish festival?

It's quaint, but better than anticipated. [So yeah, sort of.] I probably won't stay that long but enough to get a sense of just what it is she's done.

Mm, well as long as you at least stay for a bit to be able to see everything and try things out!

Well, where exactly do you recommend I start?

Well, there are these games where you have to squirt water at a target, and I think those are really fun!

[Like these. But with a starfish target, of course.]
