Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

Uh...a previous life? What do you mean by that?

[Yeah, he sort of doesn't know a thing about reincarnation.]

Sometimes after someone dies, their spirit is reborn in a new person. [He shrugs.] It's what happens when you're the Avatar.

...Oh. [That's...odd. He's never heard of anything like that happening before.] So you're kind of like...immortal, then?

It's kinda complicated. My spirit will be around forever... but my reincarnation will be their own person too.

[Whoa. This is heavy duty.] Sooo...you must be pretty important, right? [Which would make Katara and Sokka important, too. WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL HIM.]

Oh, yeah, back home I'm important. I'm called the Avatar. I'm supposed to maintain balance over the world and everything. You don't have to treat me specially or anything.

[Maintain balance over the world? Sheesh.] Aaare you sure? That sounds like a pretty big deal.

It's a big duty, yeah, but I don't really like the attention. And it's something I don't think I would have done if I didn't have to. [And if he hadn't met Katara and Sokka.]

[Having to do something big you don't really want to? Yeah, Hiccup can identify with that.] Just one of those things you...sorta had to do, huh?

Yep! Just gotta do my Avatar thing. It's something you grow into.

Yeah...I hear you there. [Except he had to grow into being someone he wasn't supposed to be in the first place.]

Did you have some kind of experience like that?

You could say that. [He glances to Toothless.] I mean, I was the first viking to befriend a dragon. So there's that.

I don't know what a viking is, but that sounds like a really great feat! I know dragons back home were really hard to get close to.

That's what we thought, too. Actually...[He looks down.] We thought they were our enemies for a long time.

[He looks on thoughtfully. As thoughtfully as he can in this get-up.]

Were they bad, or misunderstood?

...Misunderstood. [Which reflects badly on the viking, but ah well. They had no excuse.] They'd come and raid our village, so we'd fight them. But we eventually discovered they were only doing it to serve an even bigger dragon who would have killed them otherwise.

I see. War does that. When someone evil has too much power, everyone under him is at risk. It's hard to tell who was right or wrong. It sounds like both sides were only doing what they could to protect themselves. And the big dragon sounds like the only one fully worthy of blame.

[He's not sure if he has the heart to recall the Fire Nation's killing of dragons.]

Yeah. I mean, my tribe is pretty warlike to begin with, but...everything's worked out for the better now. We're actually able to live in peace and harmony working with the dragons.

That's good. As long as people learn from their mistakes and work towards some kind of peace... then things aren't that bad.

Yeah. And we're definitely a lot better off than we were before, with the dragons on our side.

[Aang can't hold it in any longer.]

Can I ride one?!

[He blinks, and then--]

Yeah, sure. Katara wants to go to, sooo--we can all make a day of it, or something.

[Katara too? That makes it even more fun, even if it isn't the romantic trip it would have been under different circumstances.]
