When: April 25th-26th, though the earlier set-up days (22nd, 23rd, and keeping everything dry on the 24th) are also encouraged to help get a feel for it
Where: All around the town square

Note: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier. Work was probably started for it on the 22nd-23rd for labor purposes, sheltering things from the weather on the 24th, and the actual Fair is on the 25th-26th, so using any of those dates and figuring out where your characters are helping would be good. CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth.

I'll leave the descriptions up to you all as there probably isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about it. Think of it as something on a much smaller scale than the festival from a year ago, definitely, but how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. That said there are plenty of unique sights, so enjoy browsing! Thank you!

[Oh now, this definitely not a creature Toothless has encountered in Luceti yet. He's big--not quite at intimidating as Moro, but Toothless will be on guard anyway, eying Beast closely.]

Uhhhh. [Hiccup just. Blinks.] Can I...help you?

[Still looking at that dragon, making sure he doesn't move any time soon. He moves sideways to try and avoid him while he gradually makes his way over to the opposite end of the booth. Dragon... taking a brief glance at what's on the table... back to the dragon.

When he does finally speak, it's stiffly and less nervously as he usually speaks to unknown people, mostly so he doesn't look weak to the giant possibly-dangerous creature nearby.] You have dragons in your world?

[dragoneer]

[Toothless is going to keep an eye on you, bro. Beast isn't acting agressive towards his viking, but that doesn't mean he's going to let his guard down.]

Err, yeah, we do. A lot of them. I'm guessing...are they legends, where you're from?

[tailasoldastime]

[His eyes widen just a little at that statement, but he's keeping his guard up just like Toothless.] Y-yes... I guess so. I don't think th-they're... real. [That's a tentative answer; if Enchantresses exist, then for all he knows...]

[dragoneer]

That's how it is for most everyone. But where I'm from? They're part of everyday life.

[Though he's a little surprised to hear that they're just legends. Beast looks pretty legendary himself.] Um. I'm Hiccup, by the way. And that's Toothless. He's one of the dragons from my world.

[tailasoldastime]

["Everyday life"? Well that takes him aback. Alright, first his name.] I-I... I'm Beast...

[That dragon has a name, like he's this boy's pet... this is hard to get around.] How... h-how did you... how do you... how do you live w-with them? [Still looking at Toothless, not meaning to look accusatory but it may come off that way.]

[dragoneer]

[Beast, huh? Apt name.] Well--we didn't, for a long time. We sort of...fought with them. But we found a way to work together so there's enough food for all of us.

[tailasoldastime]

[They fought with giant winged dragons. This doesn't surprise him at all.] Wh-what way was that?

[dragoneer]

Well? We just share the work. We catch a lot more game and fish working together than we could separately, and we have more time to do other things. So it's good for both groups.

[tailasoldastime]

I... see. [Sharing, not a lesson new for him thanks to his servants. Now he's more closely examining the copper frames of the dragons... still keeping one eye on that real dragon nearby, but still fascinated by the framed ones.]

[dragoneer]

[Hiccup goes on.] Th-those are some of the dragons from my island. Well--representations of them, at least. Those are the most common species.

[tailasoldastime]

[He looks up with one eye.] S-species? [You mean they aren't all just "dragons"?]

[dragoneer]

[He nods.] Yeah. There are dozens of species of dragons on my island, but these four are the most common.

[tailasoldastime]

[Moving his face closer to the frames.] What's the... difference?

[dragoneer]

Well, they've all got pretty distinct abilities and strengths. For instance--the Gronckle? It's pretty slow and doesn't have great aim, but it's got the most powerful jaw strength of any dragon. And the Hideous Zippleback, here, has two heads. Twice the trouble.

[tailasoldastime]

Hmmm... [The sound he makes is like a growl, but it's more in concentration than anything else. With Hiccup's details, he better notices the differences between each frame and moves even closer to make sure he doesn't miss anything... so this must be the Gronckle, it looks like it has a bigger jaw... and this is obviously the Zippleback...

But he hasn't completely forgotten the real one standing nearby and eventually moves his full attention back to Toothless.] A-and that one? [Point.]

[dragoneer]

[Toothless looks slightly incensed at that point--he has a name!--but Hiccup ignores him.]

He's a Night Fury. The rarest dragon around. Before I met Toothless, no one had ever seen one, actually.

[tailasoldastime]

[He flinches ever so slightly at the dragon's reaction, instinctively returning to a more defensive stance.]

Then how did you see... meet it?

[dragoneer]

[...Hoo boy. This is where the story gets a little awkward.]

Iiiii sort of...shot him out of the sky.

[tailasoldastime]

[...] You... what?

[dragoneer]

Yeeeah. I know how it sounds, it's just--yeah. That's what we were supposed to do. So...I did.

[tailasoldastime]

["Supposed to do"... meaning... this was agreed on by others? Then... taking what Hiccup has already told him...]

They... helped you catch food by having you ... "shoot them out of the sky"? [Whatever that means?]

[dragoneer]

Oh--n-nooo, not like that. They used to steal our food, so we shot them out of the sky and...

[Pause.] Well--killed them.

[tailasoldastime]

[...] ... Oh.

[But then... he's looking at Toothless with a cocked eyebrow. Then back at Hiccup. These... these two are good with each other, though... right?]
