What: Silver issued a battle challenge to Gold, who accepted.

Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

[He'd come along because Soren had wanted to see his hatcher in battle, and was definitely cheering for the obnoxious idiot. Chien didn't mind watching though, since it gave him a few ideas on how to train his flying fellow.

[Chien notices he doesn't, but decides just to shake his head.]

He's not mine, I'm just babysitting him until the girl that owned him comes back.

I wouldn't let any animal stay alone if they were young like this. That's all.

[Besides, Soren's become rather attached to him since he doesn't really keep track of his Naughty nature and all.]

Be that as it may, I hear they attach to certain people quickly.

[Glancing at Soren, yup. The bird just staaares right on back, then goes back to watching.]

I hope he doesn't get attached to me. Dumb bird.

[Said falsely casual, as he watches the match too.]

Personally, I don't care. So considering that little guy there your companion is nothing to get so fussy over. That it matters at all is between the two of you, isn't it?

... If he decides to stay, I don't mind. But it's not like I'm his trainer or anything like that. [Soren doesn't really care for this convo, sorry. Tugging at Chien's hair cause you should be watching so you can train him!! Which just get him a swat in return, of course, but Chien'll pay attention to the battle too.]

[Sometime during the battle Shiemi's skarmory gets a little less focused. The small skarmory (about three feet tall) calls out to Soren, trying to get its attention.

Meanwhile Skarmy's trainer, Shiemi, is still paying attention to the battle.]

[Chien doesn't pay any attention to the bird either - he's focused on the battle and he knows there are probably others with Pokémon here watching the fight.

So Soren calls back out to the other and flies right on over. How're you doing buddy.]

[The only other recently hatched Pokémon that Skarmy has encounter has been Pichu. Skamry tilts her head to the side, studying Soren. Because of Gold's naughty nature that imprinted on her...

She's trying decide if she wants to battle this other bird or not.]

[Soren shares both those, and he's sizing her up right back. Size difference or not, he's pretty sure he can take this bird down.

Wanna go? Right here, right now, aerial battle.]

[Oh. Skarmy can do that. No problem. She's been training. Everyday. In fact the skarmory uses taunt. COME AT ME, BRO.

-Shiemi knows that sound. She turns to her Pokémon.]

Sk-Skarmy, what are you doing?

[While Soren hasn't been training all that much - Chien's fault, not his - he's good to go and will strike right at the other with a quick attack.

-- which catches Chien's attention, because that bird is gooone.]

Where're you going?!

[Skarmy takes that attack to the face like a boss, because skarmories are physical walls. Sure she was injured, but now that she didn't have to block she retaliates with swift.]

[dogboy]

[This is why Pokémon battles were in large areas, huh? They seem destructive. Especially with that swift. Only which Soren's barely dodging, because being that close to the enemy and trying to escape is pretty damn hard for an ill-trained bird. So he's got hit, yeah, but in response he'll growl at the other. Lower dat attack with his fearsome trill.

... How do birds growl, anyway.]

[Despite the attack being lowered, Skarmy swoops in to use peck. It may not be the most effective since they're both flying types, but it will still do damage because she's more experienced than Soren.]

[Definitely more experienced, and Mister Big-Shot thinks he can take it no problem and

he ends up in Shiemi's lap due to his foolishness. Hello pretty lady, mind helping a bird out? Battles don't matter now, 'cause you already won his heart ♥]

[Skarmy flies back and lands on the back of Shiemi's chair. She's about to attack again when Shiemi calls her off. The bird sort of pouts and glares down at Soren.

Speaking of, Shiemi picks him up and pets him a little.] I'm sorry she's so rough. Are you all right?

[Soren winks at Skarmy, hahaha loser. He'll give you hell once he's all nice and evolved whenever.

Trilling his thanks to Shiemi too, he's fine. Look he'll even hop around and prove it-- oh no ow okay Skarmory pecks are kind of damaging wow. Okay. No. He'll just sit here and look handsome until Chien starts over with a little yell.] Stupid bird, you can't just fly off like that! If he's bothering you, just flick his head and he'll go off.
