I took a hit yesterday - ripped my suit - and... I guess I ran out of magic getting myself back to the ship without exploding or something. Whatever happens to you in space without a suit. I passed out, and I haven't been able to cast a spell since.

[His hands twist together again, wincing.]

I tried to heal you, but I couldn't... I couldn't do anything. Sorry.

Don't sweat it. Seriously. I heal pretty fast on my own, just...guess this was a pretty significant beating. [ she tries to smile; she thinks better of it. ]

But I am sorry to hear about your mojo running low. You? You should rest. [ what a laughable suggestion from a broken slayer. ]

It's okay. It's... kind of eye-opening, actually. I've never run out of magic before. [He smiles weakly, glancing down at his hands.] I slept half the day already, though. I think I just need to wait it out.

Did any of the Shifters trouble you? [ she has an amazing talent for sounding concerned for someone else's wellbeing while basically being pulverized herself. ]

I think that's what got me. Honestly, I don't really remember- I kind of blacked out for a while.

[He's noticing this shift in topic, though, so he'll try to turn the tables.]

...If it's because you beat him, I think you'd be pretty justified. [He glances around, noting all the wounded in the infirmary, as well as the battle still raging distantly outside.] Just look at all that's happened...

[He. Should probably say something supportive and profound to that. Because it's not like he didn't know that she was willing to kill already.
