Player Event - Chaos Plot
Who: Helios and pretty much everyone who replied to this post
What: The demon god Apep which affixed itself to Helios’ soul has awoken.
When: August 6th-9th
Where: Starting around house 44 then mainly around town and the woods
Summary: Basically Helios gets possessed and causes all sorts of chaos and destruction that the evil god, Apep, is known for causing!
Rating: R for lots of violence
[ It’s strange how the twist of events of a simple evening walk could change much of everything. In an instant, that was Luceti’s way of things, changing things in an instant. And Helios never even saw it coming. There were still parts of that night and parts of his soul that he never truly understood. But there were always ways of finding out. They say hands on experience is one of the best ways of learning. And this is a lesson he and several others won't soon forget. ]
((ooc; Okay plot is a go! If anyone doesn’t have an out for their character to be saved please PM me or contact me on plurk at pathogenic~ Otherwise have fun!))

August 7th After Lupin's SOS.
[It'd started as a fairly ordinary day for Saori. She'd woken up, spent a little bit of time practicing her music and swordplay, but the entire time she'd been doing so she'd felt off. Her shamisen didn't sing like it was meant to, and her blade was distracted. Things were afoot. Foul, dark things and her weapon wanted nothing to do with the dummy before her, its desire firmly set on setting the evil to rest. A foul fog had rolled over the edges of the village, and the Daughter of Wind and Rain had pushed it back, keeping it away from her home.
But the source? She had no idea.
That is, until a desperate sounding transmission came over her journal. Lupin, calling for aid. She heard Adele's voice in the background, sounding equally desperate. Strapping her blade to her waist the goddess tore out of the house, her wooden shoes crunching on the dirt path as she ran. She had to get there. And she had to get there fast.
Only, as she neared House 46, a strange scarlet-haired man covered in tattoos appeared to block her path, his body positively radiating corruption. She didn't immediately register him as a threat, his own presence fairly muted compared to the enemy she felt in the distance. And this wasn't where her friends were. He was just some obstacle tossed in her path, meant to delay her.]
Remove yourself from my path, I'm in a hurry. I've no wish to harm you, but I will remove you by force if necessary.
Afterwards
[Having dealt with Isaac, Saori charged onwards, her face grim and her eyes dark. He'd been a good warm-up but the true enemy lay ahead. The feed hadn't stopped, there were still sounds of gunshots, screams, and a laughing madman. And then it cut out, an unsettling silence overtaking her as she neared her destination.
Much to her dismay House 46 had a shattered window, a gaping hole in the roof, and several bits of furniture laying around the yard, along with more of that damned fog. Anger welled up in the goddess, thunder rumbling in the distance as a lightning bolt ripped through the sky. Rain began to fall, heavy and fast, while she moved towards the damaged structure.
The sensation of evil was palpable, and it was concentrated on the back of the house, near the rear exit. Wooden sandals splashed through thick muck as Saori ran to intercept. Rounding a corner, she was confronted by a sight that made her blood run cold. Helios stood in the exit, a massive snake comprised of dark energy coiled around his body. In the spiritual world his aura was a tangle of chaos, pain, and torment. This man was tainted by some evil force, and a familiar one at that. The snake conjured memories of sand, death, and pyramids under a bleeding sky. Tesshin would have known who he was, but Saori had not studied the foreign pantheons as he had.
It mattered not. He was the enemy, and he'd hurt her friend. With a rasp as quiet as a wasp walking up a pane of glass the kami drew her sword and stepped into the view. Her spiritual anima flared, lightning crackled in the distance and the fog all but vanished. Pointing Cloudshifter at Apep, she spoke, her voice like whispering thunder.]
Creature of Darkness, I will allow your transgression to continue no farther. Face me, and embrace your end.
Speak of the devil and he doth appear. (warning for a disturbing image?)
Let us not get ahead of ourselves.
[She was brave, he would grant; a brave fool soon to be sacrificed in the name of the darkness. And what a wondrous thing it would be when it would reign over the ruins of Luceti. Watching still, long and unblinking, his smile fades at the edges.]
…I cannot let you pass. [There is, perhaps, the slightest hint of ruefulness in these words, but it is
as empty as his soul!hollow and mocking.]Oh you devil you!
You cannot stop me, Mortal. I will offer you one last chance to stand down or incur my divine wroth.
[Boldly she steps forward. If he wanted a weak sacrifice, he'd find himself hopelessly disappointed]
/wave of hand
Bravo. [Tapping his fingers against his palm in gentle applause.] A pretty show.
[An arm back to his side, the other reaching for his trident at his back, giving it a twirl. He trails his hand admiringly, thoughtfully, across the haft, looking up at the blades as if gauging how much pain the they were capable of inflicting. After so many years, so many raids and confrontations the likes of coliseum entertainment, he couldn’t imagine a time when the spear hadn’t felt like an extension of his own body.]
My apologies; you will not be the very first divine being who does not think fondly of me.
[Behind this mirthless smile, and hundreds like them, is an anger that’s had years to fester, reaching deep to his bones. Like a parasite, it clings and it thrives, eating away at him, at his better self, with a hunger that never dies. It’s an ugly thing that has torn apart a bond and strained another. And sometimes, it was also all he’s had, giving him the strength to live and purpose when he’d had nothing left.
In a different time and in a different place, perhaps he could have lived happily with Julia, with Hector - - but the time for longing dreams was long past. Nothing could change. It didn’t matter, anyway; nothing mattered. He’d return home to die when the Malnosso grew tired of him and all would be forgotten. And then the mouth of Hell would gape open beneath him and take him in.
Isaac blinks as if emerging from a daze, his gaze focusing sharply on Saori once more, fierceness returning. Apep’s influence has only gained strength, razing his mind bare of every thought but of her destruction and his master’s appeasement.]
psshawww
And he was wielding a weapon made of metal.]
If you insist upon this course, then you will pay the price for defiance! You are nothing more than glass, waiting to be smashed!
Inazuma.
[As she calmly speaks the command, thunder rumbles above. From the heavens, a bolt of lightning explodes downward, a jagged talon of electricity tearing straight for the lightning rod the interloper was twirling about. Evasion would be nearly impossible, the energy drawn unerringly to the trident. If he were to drop it, however...
Without waiting, Saori herself leaps at Isaac, moving with the lightning bolt, her anima flaring brightly in the darkened sky. A burst of wind propels her forward, one leg lashing out as she reached him. The supernatural martial arts of the Kami were a sight to behold, the ball of her foot leading with a powerful electrical discharge concentrated on that point. Should it connect, Isaac would go flying like a leaf caught in a gale.
Ordinarily she would have taken it easy on a mortal, let his transgression pass, but Isaac was trying to stop her from rescuing her new friends. For the first time in many years, her hackles were truly up, the sounds of fury and spiritual energy rushing through her body leaving her nearly deaf as it pounded in her ears.
As she pivots and brings her leg back, her clothing shifts dramatically, the soft robes transforming into a hard carapace of Lamellar armor, adapted to cover her wings in a magical shell should Isaac get any ideas about going for her Luceti-born weakness.]
Persist in your folly, and you will find out what it means to cross a god of storms.

When he hears the ominous bone-snap of thunder directly overhead, he tenses a split-second before his eyes lock on hers and he sprints forward to meet her half-way, seeing her body was poised to deliver a powerful kick. And then he springs, teeth-gritted, and throws the weight of his lunge into a thrust as if in one, last desperate bid of a survival from a man with nothing to lose. He can’t let go – not now. But would he be fast enough?]
Rasetz!
[If he’s to be struck by her or the bolt - or both - he could not let her emerge unscathed from this, at the very least, no matter what condition he was left in. Lord Apep would never suffer total failure; it was his hunger for approval as much as his dread of punishments unimaginable that would drive Isaac when his body would verge on buckling.]

And then the lightning struck. Electricity coursed down the metal trident, several thousand amps of natural lightning pouring into Isaac's body. It wasn't a poor mage's lightning spell, it was the force of the natural elements themselves rushing to aid their mistress.
Saori's anima flared as she reached the end of the halt, gracefully flipping over Isaac's head, one foot lashing out as she passed, striking at the base of his skull. As she landed her clothing shifted to its armored form and, she whispered once more.]
Inazuma

His mind freezes over, a blinding whiteness fills his vision - and for a split second that seems to last an hour, his synapses fire wildly and there is a pain far beyond that inflicted by the electrical attacks of a mage-type devil. Uncontrollable spasms attack his muscles, his jaw fiercely locking shut in reflex - until her kick breaks the hold, throwing him off his feet. He hits the ground full force and rolls, coming to stop some distance away.
Rasetz has phased into existence with a flash of light, five hitodama orbiting its form – and promptly shifts into the defensive as it senses its master’s situation, generating a magic circle to encompass them both.]

[Rasetz appearance was intriguing, yes. A mortal who could call spirits? Boring. This little creature, though. With its sword shining so bright, half-moon kabuto, and its hitodama glowing in the light of her anima it reminded her of a time long past. When mankind still feared Takeshima, and hungry ghosts prowled the landscape. She'd fought and put to rest many just like it, and despite enjoying the modern age she couldn't help but respect the devil. With a silent nod she afforded Rasetz a warrior's greeting, a bow.
And then her second bolt of lightning lanced from the sky, bid to strike Isaac, though the Devil's shield shifted it off course enough to narrowly miss the Forgemaster, a smouldering gash appearing on the ground beside him. Curious, but not unexpected. This man had power, and luck. Not everything could go her way.
But she couldn't afford the time. Anima flaring, Saori directed some of its power into her hands, the left surrounded by a glowing arc of electricity and in the right a whirlwind took shape in her palm.]
This is your final warning. Leave me be.

Its master stirs, defiantly pushing himself up off the ground with shuddering arms – and he needs a moment to breathe and blink away the bright spots of light blotting his vision and muster the strength to stagger to his feet. It’s a slow process. His head’s reeling and feels disproportionately heavy to the rest of him, and his body feels distinctly wrong in the tingling aftershock; it’s as if it were broken apart and then poorly reassembled, nothing fitting quite properly and his wiring crossed.
But he makes it, standing before his enemy within that glowing circle. And what begins as a wheezy giggle rattling his shoulders crescendos into a wild laugh as he raises his head with a manic gleam in his eyes.]

Lightning sparked from her fingertips, shrieking across the stormy sky, and ripping through the shield, dampened but not shut out. The electricity was aimed for Rasetz, spiraling down his sword, and then arcing through his body. The kabuto's ornamentation turned a brilliant shade of blue for a moment, the air buzzing as it arced from the Devil towards the madman.
From the goddess's other hand, a blast of wind erupted, aimed squarely at Isaac. The hoary magic was mixed with chilled water and pellets of hail, a condensed summer storm for the scarlet haired madman.]
warning for violent imagery
A tendril of electricity suddenly jumps from its helm, arcing toward the Chauve Souris. But now by sheer luck of timing, it’s out of the Forgemaster’s hands and on the ground, waiting to be claimed. Every tendon and muscle and bone aches, but he holds steadfast to his goal even as she catches him with a powerful gust of wind and pelts him with hail, a frustrating annoyance. He ducks his head, teeth set. Under normal circumstances, he would had already abandoned this fight knowing himself to be outclassed… but here and now, death is more favourable to deserting.
Lips moving soundlessly, he mutely commands Rasetz to attack. And every one of its five accompanying souls is propelled forward, moving fluidly through the air as as they hone in on their target.
Shielding his eyes with one arm, Isaac reaches for the trident with the other, gloved fingers closing around it.]
Do you truly believe a creature the likes of you will stand a chance against my lord?
[He roars, his voice rising above the howling wind. Whether or not Rasetz's attack has had any success, he presses on:] Foolish wench! You deserve a death fitting of your arrogance… and rest assured, that he shall grant you. He will break you, first. Wrenching every tooth from your skull, one by one, and thrusting glowing irons into your eye sockets. [He smiles wickedly, mirthlessly.] Then he shall tear out your tongue and throw it to the dogs, filling every bleeding, rotting hole in your face with writhing grave-worms. But he will spare you your ears, so that you may hear yourself and know what you have become.
[A chuckle.]
This, my dear girl, is only the beginning. You will beg for an agony as simple as that -- [Words reminiscent of something Hector had said, once.] –- long before he has finished with you.
Love dat violence!
The final missile Saori plucks out of the air, containing it in a bubble of wind, looking at it like one would a bug in a jar. When Isaac speaks up, she tightens her fist and crushes the magic outright. His arrogance and madness were astounding. She wiped away the blood on her cheekbone, her wound already beginning to knit. Whatever this lord of his was, she cared not. He was doing something to harm her new friends, and this madman was an obstruction.]
Then you can go back to your master like a mewling baby fox, and explain to him that the Daughter of Wind and Rain is coming for him. No thing, mortal or immortal, has ever bested me. I know not what you think I am, and I tire of your japes. You had your warning.
[And then she brings her hands together, forming a nexus of swirling wind, lightning, rain and hail. The air thrums with energy, Saori raising the nexus high into the air, a deathly silence growing over the area as she channels her magic, steadily growing bigger and bigger. And then she releases it. A shockwave of air, followed by a wave of electricity, and then a chilling burst of hail. She was done holding back, this was aimed to remove him from the playing field for now, and get him to just shut up.
Her voice was commanding and stern, there was no smile there. Only certainty.]
Now, BEGONE!
warning for a bit of language. I guess?
Oh Isaac, you know just how to treat a lady.
August 7th After Lupin's SOS.
DEM EYEZ BRO
Oh, I don't want you to lie down, creature. But I will taste victory. You have made a grave error in coming here, Skinrider.
[Her anima flares behind her, a crackling barrier of lightning taking shape around her, several bolts of pure silver electricity arcing out to strike at his shadowy form, divine wrath conjured to wound him on a spiritual level]
Kneel in judgement, or fall by my blade, creature.
Someone needs Clear Eyes :C
You know not the powers you deal with! A goddess you may be but I shall tear you asunder for such insolence! [ And with a crack the ground beneath Saori opens up and makes to drag her into its gaping maw. ] It is you who will fall!
*Ben Stein Voice* Clear Eyes, Clears Redness Right Up.
Skinrider, more powerful creatures than you have fallen at my hand. A mere demon like you is nothing more than petals in the wind before me.
[She doesn't know what he is, and in her mind it doesn't matter. Something is riding inside Helios's mind, and it must be stopped.]
Now with 100% more holy for all your demon needs Dx
She thought him a demon? A laugh erupts from his throat as the darkness and night give aid to his recovery. It only takes a few moments and the scored flesh is perfectly healed as if nothing were done to it at all. ] You are quite formidable. A much better suited adversary than those pathetic mortals inside. [ He jerks his head towards the house with a fiendish grin. ]
Let us continue our battle! [ And just like that the being in front of Saori dissipates being only a simple construct of illusion. And from the air Apep comes down on her a black flaming sword in hand as he arcs his blade down towards her shoulder. ]
Ruh-Roh Rhraggy. looks srs.
Reflexively, Cloudshifter moves to parry almost of its own accord, Saori's arm muscle flexing taut as she does blocks. Dark fire meets Holy lightning, sparks flying as the blades collide, cascading around them like fireworks. The force of the blow sends them lower to the ground, Apep's weight pressing down on the lithe Asian goddess.]
Battle? Tch, a weak foreign godling like you is hardly my equal.
[She spins away on a streamer of wind, flipping the flat of her blade up and over, sending Apep's cursed weapon wide, exposing his chest. Then she struck back, her gently curved weapon flashing upward like a falcon diving for a serpent...and suddenly, she's behind him.
A second strike descends, her face grim as Cloudshifter slashes through the air, aimed for his left arm. The engravings on the weapon flare with her anima, lightning pouring forth in a tightly controlled strike]
Name yourself, godling. I'll want to know what name to add to my book of fallen foes!
damn straight!
I am Apep god of chaos and destruction! You will not defeat me so easily! [ A thick black mass strikes for Saori the pain and electrical attack leaving his left arm paralyzed for a few more moments. ]
SHIT JUST GOT REAL
The force of Apep's fury slams fully into the goddesses hastily erected shield, propelling her backwards and sending her crashing into the ground. In her mind she knows that if she hadn't had her anima up it would have been incredibly painful. As it stood it still hurt, dark smoke rising from her armor, a reminder that she was, in fact, not nearly as strong in Luceti as she was at home.]
Apep? I've never heard of you. Amatsu Mikaboshi would probably dislike you attempting to usurp his title as well.
[A jab, to enrage him further. But she notices something. His left arm isn't moving. And then it occurs to her that he always favored his right arm anyway. That...couldn't be a coincidence. So, in retaliation for his attack, Saori gestures to the sky, calling on her divine power instead of just her anima]
Inazuma!
[With a tremendous clap of thunder, a singularly massive bolt of lightning tears through the sky, aimed directly at Apep's left side...]
SO DID!
[ But he notes her change in stance and then the lightning strikes down. But, no, Apep as battle worn as he is will not be harmed twice in the same night. Goddess or no goddess. He jumps backwards as the lightning hits the ground where he once stood. His facial features twist into a snarl and his red eyes flash with anger. He'll spout a curse in Egyptian and out of the darkness will spawn dozens of inhuman snake-like creatures. Their movements fast and jittery as they make way towards Saori. Apep cannot win this fight and it enrages him that he cannot. Evenly matched as they were she had no weakness to speak of and his has been exposed.
He'll live to see another fight with this one because he will not die today. The snakes will make a good distraction as he makes his escape back into the woods. ]
Snakes. Why is it always snakes?!
The air comes alive with electricity as the Kami's eyes snap open, a pulsating wave of blue-white elf-lightning rippling out from her anima. In a chorus of shrieks, the shadowspawn are obliterated, turned to ash by the divine spell. Apep, however, had escaped. She could feel him retreating, his darkness leaving an oily stain upon the air. Amatsu Mikaboshi wasn't even this bad. At least he had honor.
The wind howls all around, and Saori lives her eyes to the sky for a moment, her face a mask of rage. Her voice rose in an audible shriek, and she was certain that her foe would hear her.]
I am coming for you! There is nowhere you can run, and nowhere you can hide. So long as the wind blows, I will hunt you down like an animal. Do you hear me?!
[And then she turns, sheathing Cloudshifter and entering the ruined house.]
Hello? Does...anyone need assistance?
Tired of these motherloving snakes on this motherloving game.
Were she centered. Stable. She could help with his shoulder- it's not wright, it's twisted and wrong but she can't keep her hands still. Can't even breathe. Can barely focus on what is actually happening.
The thunder and fighting and crackle of lightening cause her to flinch. She's managed to calm her breathing by the time it's over, at least.]
...Saori?
Officially the first day of the I Hate Cobra fanclub.
Del-chan? Are you alright?!
[As she spots the victims, Saori darts over, kneeling down to be on eye level. One impossibly strong hand reaches out and grips Adele by the chin, her eyes staring right into the blonde's. No taint. He hadn't done that yet. Releasing her, the storm goddess's gaze softens.]
Good.
Cobras are awful. Also Warning for violent imagery.
Not as bad as Asps...
Still annoying t-t
So cut off their heads with shovels...?
STOP! Shovel time?
Doo doo doo doot!
Can't touch dis
