Greetings, your name is LUCETI MOD. It seems you've lost your memory. Here's some facts about yourself:

If it is anything like every other time unusual and unwarranted things happen, it should only last about a week. So far no one appears to be suffering memory loss due to medical reasons. [Wouldn't that be terrible.]

And, yes. There is something greater at work here.

This is a regular occurrence; not the memory loss but this sort of strangeness?

[She doesn't know if that makes this better or worse.

An organization known as the Malnosso, for starters. It is a story so complicated even those with their memories have trouble following. Things like this are regular; most of them are referred to as "experiments".

[Did she sign up for this? Was this a voluntary situation? That didn't sit right but it was a possibility, an odd one but still. An explanation.]

What is it they are trying to learn? I can't...how does this help them?

If it's an experiment there's a purpose behind them. Something they wish to test, a hypothesis to prove...isn't there?

[That was how it worked, right? Or didn't it. That was the first thing that came to mind, really.]

One would expect that. I'll be purple in the face before I learn what it is, though, I think. We are...their subjects, their soldiers, perhaps occasionally their co-conspirators. But not ever equals.

If we're test subjects to be experimented on we wouldn't be equals. That is...how the hierarchy works...I think. The separation between subject and scientist is present for a reason.

Yes. In this case things are more complicated, but also far more difficult to explain and, I think, not what you should focus on first.

We should find my husband first- though I do not know where to find him. If I'd woken in our home it would have been simpler.

[Mia makes a frustrated sound.] If I had thought before rushing out of the clinic, I would have been able to tell you why you were there. [It is, as has been more usual lately, herself she's frustrated with.] I'm sorry.

I...did check the chart at the foot of the bed. There wasn't anything written.

Wasn't there? That is strange. It was also the right thing to do. [Hearing Adele say she was doing her duty is comforting. Mia smiles.] Thank you though. The Welcome Center isn't too far away now, so we should be able to find the proper house soon enough.

It seemed wise. If there was anything vital in the IV I woke with it would be better to know before I removed it, yes? There would have been something written were that the case.

[That's just how these thing worked, or should work, really.]

Good. Having somewhere to go for certain will help my peace of mind a great deal.

[Adele would not be surprised at all at what people will just do in order to escape the clinic. It probably gives her headaches.]

And with any luck, he remembers you and can tell you something more about yourself.

[She sighs, shoulders sagging.]

Please, Miss Adele- [That feels strange; Mia would usually call her Doctor, at least. She doesn't know if she knows that about herself.] If I have learned anything from living here it is that there is always an end to the experiment. I know you'll be fine.

The time between now and then will be all the more frustrating for the lack of memory. Knowing that I ought to be accustomed to this and find myself failing to manage is more than a little mortifying.

I don't think you are failing to manage at all. Really. I would be a mess if I woke up with nothing, but many of my friends have just been...calm and logical. And so are you.

I assure you I am panicking on the inside. Horribly.

[And to an extent, she still was. Having somewhere to go and someone to help her made it less difficult, but that large empty space where everything she knew of her life was supposed to be left her quietly afraid.]

I certainly would not fault you if you panicked on the outside, too.

[She's spoken to about half a dozen "amnesiacs" by now and there has been a theme. A recurrence. Giving it words is her challenge now.

[She huffs a soft laugh.]

Now it's a bit easier to manage.

[Oh, good. It's in sight. She manages a faint smile and straightens out her shoulders.]

What I have noticed about you - all of you that I've met so far, without memories - is that you do still recognize and understand a lot of things. You just will not know why.

So I don't think all is lost.

That is something of a comfort. It might be why I knew how to get out of the clinic- the building is a little disorienting if you aren't in the right frame of mind.

[And how she knew the fountain was a fairly neutral area. And to not be weirded out by the wings.]

How to get out without getting caught, which is a feat almost no one ever manages. [Granted, there are usually more people around with some sense.] But yes, things like that are what I mean.
