Halloween is once again descending on Luceti! There's a maze and some mists and some ghoulish visitors and all kinds of pranks. Oh, and the parties. Don't forget the parties. Or the candy. Man, those kids on the draft don't know what they're missing.

As a reminder:
  • Starting on the 28th (yesterday) and going until the 31st, strange thngs are happening in Luceti. This is for those who have stayed behind from the draft OR for those who have been safely evacuated from the draft after their requisite quarantine time.
  • Get lost in the maze! Get rid of the spiders and rats and bats! Eat candy! Try on costumes! Do stuff unrelated to these weird happenings!
  • Be pranked! Do pranks of your own (if you wanna take advantage of the great scapeghosts)! Go to their harvest festival party!
  • Most of all? Have a spooktacularly fun time.

Well, next time I hope I'm more of a thrill.

[He seems to be actually looking forward to it. Strange man.]

Eh...but what fun is it for me if you enjoy my tricks? [Honestly, you're taking the words right out of her mouth with the strange talk, doctor. Perona's not sure just what to do about you. Though, after some close peering, Perona's eyes actually widen a little bit, just for a moment.]

Mm, it may be quite a task to scare you, doctor Law. But given that I owe you a favor, I may forgo my pranks. Just this time...maybe. [Not likely, but you never know.]
deathsdoctor: (Neutral | Don't like the sound of that)

The challenge in concocting them? That can be fun in itself.

[He puts down his open book on zombie plagues.] Oh. Well. [Disappointing, sort of. He does have essential work, but this has been a nice distraction so far.] That's very generous of you, Miss Perona.
hollower: (Heh. | Up to no good.)

[The disappointment in Law's tone is definitely picked up on and Perona can't help but snicker quietly under her breath. What a strange person...enjoying being pranked. Maybe it will be fun to mess with him - he won't get mad at her if she does, and even getting Law to just twitch from fright may be fun. A challenge indeed, and those usually are fun, oh yes.]

Don't thank me yet, I'm still considering it. This is a week of mischief and merry-making for the darker sort after all, horohoro! But what are you looking at there? [Nosy girl - Perona's already hovering (literally) over Law's shoulder to sneak a peek at the contents of his book.]

    Zombie plagues and rage viruses.

[There's a rather nasty one detailed on the page for her to see.]
    hollower: (DAMNIT ZORO)

[WELP. That's enough to get her attention right quick. The sparkle in her eyes is evident enough.]

Zombies?! Are you going to make some?! Can you really do that here? I thought Hogback-sama was the only one who could--[A pause, as realization strikes.] if you can do it, can I make a request?! One like my teddybear!
deathsdoctor: (Neutral | Yeah right man)

Uh, no. I can't raise the dead. Not wanting to either.

[So... why was a guy like Hogback working with Moria anyway? Law's heard of him. He was famous. If it was wealth or prestige, he already had that. The offer must have been tempting.]

I'm after the cure for a disease.
    hollower: (Transparent heart.)

    Oh. I see...

[Perona's shoulders sag, and the disappointment is all too visible on her face. There goes that possibility, then. Oh well, she really shouldn't be too shocked - it'd be a little too good to believe, possibly getting Bearsy back in one way or another. At least she does have her teddybear, so that should be enough...

Perona doesn't bother to listen to the rest of what Law says, and lifts her head absently to feign that she heard him.]

    Mmmm...

[This conversation is at a stall.]

[Not for long. Perona's too nosy to let silence fill a room for long. Though, when she does speak again, there's a bit of resentment in her voice. Not necessarily directed at Law, he's just the poor scapegoat who has to deal with her growing frustration.]

But why study a cure for something that doesn't exist here in Luceti? [Look, she was listening! But really, there are no zombies in Luceti that Perona knows of, unfortunately.] Last I saw, there are ghosts, not zombies.
deathsdoctor: (Neutral | Judgement by sword?)

It exists somewhere else on this world, where our people are currently fighting. It needs to be stopped before it comes to Luceti.
    hollower: (UNSURE)

There are zombies here? Really? [Don't sound so excited, Perona.] But I've never heard of a zombie virus before. Hogback-san and Moria-sama could just make them themselves.

[But a zombie virus kind of sounds gross. If it's a disease, then it can be transmitted, right? Perona's smart enough to make the connection right away.] ...How is the virus transmitted, and what becomes of the body? Does it begin to rot and decay like a true corpse?

[Because that doesn't sound very nice at all. Or cute. In fact, it sounds icky.]
deathsdoctor: (Neutral | That is unpleasant)

Blood and body fluids. If it gets in an open would or the infected person manages to bite another...

    [He trails off. Goners.]

For the first six hours after the infection has caused them to turn, the infected are adrenaline charged monsters. Far stronger than they are normally. Then the strain sets in and they deteriorate. Until the only thing keeping them alive is the virus... everything in them is ravaged beyond any sort of grace.
    hollower: (Huff!)

    [personal profile] hollower 2012-11-15 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Bite?! Eugh...that sounds disgusting! And as much as she likes zombies, her favorites were the cute animals ones. Like hell does she want to be around the dimmer, brainless, meat-sucking type that'd turn her into one. Perona cares too much for her life and her body for that.]

Th-That's...terrible. [And she means it. It's not the Zombies Hogback made. Those were just pieces of things and animals put together. Already dead things reanimated by another's shadow.] Have you made any progress with the cure, Law-san?
    deathsdoctor: (Neutral | I don't accept that)

    30th

    [personal profile] deathsdoctor 2012-11-16 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
... an actual cure, not yet. There have been strides made... there is a vaccine for the uninfected and a... proto-cure of sorts that allows the infected to at least keep their mind...

    [His lips suddenly twist, frustrated.]

    But no complete cure.
    hollower: (Hollow girl.)

[Perona frowns as well, and crosses her arms over her chest. She's no doctor, lest she's offer to help, but she can at least do something that may work to law's benefit. Hopefully.]

...I can't do much to assist with the medicine, but I can try to keep the spirits from bothering you while you work. They shouldn't be a problem if I can control them - but I can't guarantee the visitors will listen. My hollows will leave you be, however, if I will it. [Or assist in pest control. Hmm...never did try them out on another ghost, either. Wonder if it works.]
deathsdoctor: (Neutral | got my attention now)

[There's a CRASH somewhere in the background and Law slowly looks toward the sound.

    For god sakes, not again.]

That would be much appreciated, Miss Perona.
    hollower: (Laughter.)

    [personal profile] hollower 2012-11-22 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
    [...Pfff.

A "horohorohoro" giggle later and Perona's sliding right on over to where she heard the crash. This, hopefully, shouldn't take long at all. Four hollows is probably overkill, but hey - it's halloween! She can afford to make a few spirits miserable.

Hope you're not at all bothered by the gross sobbing that'll be coming around soon. Perona, however, looks rather pleased.]

Ah, they can work on other ghosts! How fun!
