Miracle on Luceti Street.

Who: Everybody! (Mostly.)
What: IT'S CHRISTMAS OR SOMETHING.
When: The 19th through the 25th. Feel free to backdate and forwarddate and everydate as you please.
Where: All over the village!
Summary: It's a wintertime jamboree. Go ice skating. Hand out gifts to those you love. (Or want to prank, as the case may be.) Deal with meddling, creepy elves. Kiss a lot of people. It'll be good. Except for the parts where it'll be awkward. But that's what we're here for, isn't it?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R, I imagine. If you need to play out sexytimes, please either fade to black and take it elsewhere or CLEARLY mark the thread in the subject line. (The former is preferable, but not strictly necessary.)

This is your event catch-all log! Sorry it's a bit late in going up. All you really need to do is mention in your subject line what date(s) it is, so folks know if they're dealing with mistletoe or not. Feel free to set up multiple scenarios, of course. Also, as always, tag your characters!

Here is your event info, and feel free to continue asking questions there if necessary. Now go and make merry!

[Pilouette actually has kind of started having fun giving out these cookies and smiles broadly as she moves a little closer, holding out the basket.]

A Christmas cookie! Want one?

[Now, Perona only very vaguely remembers this young lady - her face rings a soft bell in the very back of her memories. It must've been from before she returned home for two years. Did she even know her name? ...Eh, it'll come back, maybe. But for now, Perona's staring at the cookie a little warily.

This just seems too good to be true. A free cookie? There has to be a catch or...or something.]

You're just...giving them away?

Well...yeah. I mean, it is Christmas after all! Plus...

[She kind of subtly glances at her own elf, who's standing nearby just to make sure Pilouette is actually doing what she's been told. She doesn't seem to quite recognize Perona, but her voice does sound just the teeniest bit familiar.]

They're like, fresh, too! I made them just this morning!
hollower: (Are you ill?)

[She's still a little hesitant, but tentatively reaches for a cookie, her own elf urging her on. Nnggh...something about this just seems so very, very much like a trap. She's expecting it to taste foul, or be poisoned, or have some kind of horrific side-effect or just--]

You first. [She jams the cookie in her elf's face, leering at it from her towering height.] ...Then I'll try one.

[She elf stumbles a little from surprise, then blinks and snatches the cookie from its charge, muttering quietly - something about "trust issues" - and begins to nibble happily on that cookie, thanking Pilouette sweetly.]

[Pilouette has never had someone react to free cookies like that before and it makes her just the tiniest bit uneasy. ...Though she has to admit, it could be seen as a little shifty. Replace the cookies with apples and she may as well be poisoning Snow White. Plus, she's pretty sure her elf wouldn't like it if she got too upset about it.

However, since this girl's elf seemed to like the cookie...well, that's a good sign, right? She does her best to smile as she holds the basket out to Perona once more.]

S-See? They're like, totally okay!
hollower: (Hey! Listen!!)

[Perona watches her elf suspiciously, as if the little creature were purposely lying just so she could actually eat that cookie. Though, in the back of her mind, she does indeed think that if there were anything horribly wrong with it, the elf wouldn't risk itself...and her sweet tooth is crying out in desperation, too...

Ugh, fine. She'll take one, and give it an experimental nibble. She doesn't say much, just mousily eats, but her elf nudges her leg, grumbling something about thanking the "nice young lady".]

It's edible. [That counts as thanks, right? Another, harder nudge.] ...Thank you.

E-Edible...

[That can't be bad, right? Though, if the only way they can be described is "edible", well...just because something is edible doesn't mean they're good. Pilouette puts on an uneasy smile.]

Oh, um, n-no problem! I bake a lot but, uh, I guess I'm like, not quite "there" yet or something.
hollower: (Beautiful lady.)

[Not bad at all! In fact, Perona really didn't mean anything bad by what she said. It's just, what with the wacky hijinks she's been through these past few days, having to do insane things for her own els and being forced to kiss people (one of which still leaves a horrendous taste in her mouth), Perona's been expecting the worst of just about everything having to do with this holiday. That's just how Luceti is - it's turning her second favorite holiday into a terror.

Regardless, Perona finishes off the cookie and dusts off her fingers of the crumbs.]

No. That was very good...better than what I could do - but I've only started cooking for myself about a--eh...maybe a year and a half ago. Well, I mean. [The first few months were disastrous.]

[Well, that actually does make Pilouette feel better. She stands up straight, smiling.]

It can be kind of hard when you just start learning. [But does a year and a half still count as starting out?]

But are you having fun with it? I think cooking is like, super fun! Just making all kinds of tasty things and stuff...!
hollower: (Oh please....)

[It does if you only make the same "safe" things over and over again because you're afraid of ruining a very powerful swordsman's kitchen a third time and getting his very dark and signature look directed your way. Experimenting is hard when you have to be careful not to set someone else's property on fire. Thankfully, the latter there doesn't happen a fraction as much as it used to.]

Mm. Certain things are more fun to make than others... Chocolates and sweets are my favorite - especially Halloween themed. Other than that, I always thought it was more a necessity than a hobby, but I've learned otherwise. I'm just not very good to really practice on new things... [She should ask Sanji for pointers and tips.]

You can make chocolates?! That's so cool! I never thought about learning to make candy... I get what you mean, though. I only started learning to cook because usually no one else was around to do it, but it got really fun after a while. But if you're having trouble with new things...

Are you following a recipe or just like, doing stuff?
hollower: (Looking down upon.)

Only just recently, yes. Though it's nothing very special...just solid chocolate poured into molds and decorated a little. [Really, she got lucky in learning to make them. Chocolate-making is hard as all hell. If her skills were horrible from the beginning, Perona's sure she would have burned more than the bottom of one pan the day she first tried.] ...And I had to learn to cook. If I didn't I would have starved. The two people I was living with weren't very...accommodating when they were busy, or out.

[Training, she means. Zoro and Mihawk wander and train too damn much. Plus, with Zoro getting lost ALL THE TIME, she really did have to learn. Like hell Mihawk would have catered to her and made her food all the time she asked for it.]

And I purchased cookbooks once I possessed a ship to sail with. Or found some in the castle. Simple things I could already make.

[Not knowing the situation, Piouette is just assuming Perona lived with a pair of really lazy people.]

Like, they didn't cook at all, even though you were all living together? They sound like, super inconsiderate to make you cook all the time. Tell me they didn't make you clean everything, too! I mean, it would have been a pain to clean up a whole cas-

[It only just occurs to Pils...this girl said castle. Castle? Did she hear castle? She definitely said castle.]

...You lived in a castle?
hollower: (Vanilla Twilight.)

[personal profile] hollower 2013-01-16 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, one of them is...kind of.]

Mihawk-sama cooks. [She's only seen him do it a few times, though. Zoro, on the other hand, Perona doesn't trust to be near food. Or the stove.] But like I said, when he's away or training with the idiot, I'm stuck alone and I have to fend for myself until they return. Sometimes it's just until sundown, sometimes it's longer because the sword-bearing idiot gets lost, and Mihawk-sama's traveled off the island.

...I only clean what's mine. [Though she has, from time to time, washed Zoro's shirt, robe, and haramaki. And, finally, the last question to be answered--] The castle belonged to Mihawk-sama. The island as well, it was his own personal home.

So you're on your own a lot, too, huh...?

[She knows that feeling. Or thinks she does. It's probably not the same given their differing relationship with the people leaving them alone, but...]

It still must be kind of cool loving in a castle, though, even if it's not yours. I mean, what girl hasn't dreamed of living in a castle, even just a little...!

[Perona doesn't say much to the first comment, that's a rather heavy topic and she does not want to get into it - it'll only make her upset. The second, on the other hand, gets a lazy sort of shrug. Eh, it's all right. Mihawk's castle is pretty gorgeous, and fits her tastes to a T, but you grow used to living there after two years.]

It has its charms, though it would have been nicer with a few servants to wait on me a little bit...but I suppose that's why I have Zoro. With some, eeh...conditioning, he's rather obedient.
