[Naoki thankfully takes a step back, breaking his thoughts. Well, he knew matters sometimes had to be taken into your own hands, but this was pushing it, a lot. His own face is a bit red.]

I was...just making sure you weren't sick or anything.

[Well, honesty was the only weapon he had at the moment.]

[Oh. Right. Raven finds logic again and shakes her head.]

No, I'm not sick.

That I can probably vouch for. Your skin wasn't hot like you had a fever or anything.

[Not gonna mention blush because he still kinda had one on his face.]

[It's not like he knows that she doesn't even go to the apothecary at home he hasn't met Marian, either, so coming to the battledome of all places about feeling sick would Just Not Happen.

So then why is she here? Raven may never know the answer now.]

It's not really your business. [Then, almost as if someone else is talking because she certainly isn't in control of this one:] What do those markings mean?

[If she couldn't even remember why, something had to be wrong. Wasn't helping that his own mind was arguing with him. He could have just left, again, and leave her to her own thoughts. He didn't though, only raising an eyebrow when she questioned the tattoos.]

Why the sudden interest? [And yet when she should have inquired more, his mind suddenly thought for him.] They serve to display my own health. Physically anyway.

[And just like that, he wanted to smack himself. THAT WAS VITAL INFORMATION!]

I just...they're okay. [She likes them. Rather suddenly and without warning, but it feels less and less unusual to think about.] So...how do you know if it's bad?

[The once stoic and calm Naoki seemed a bit flustered. Outside of demons, who usually did it just to tease him, no one ever thought of him to be...interesting, or a specific part. First time anyone complimented the tattoos.]

Well, if they darken and turn red, that's one sign. I assume they just turn black if I ever die.

[That could be useful, but they're on his face and he can't see them.]

Oh. [However strong these newfound feelings are, they don't really make her any more talkative.]

[And unfortunately, Naoki didn't like awkward silence. Normal he could deal with, but this...it turned him kinda back into his old self in a way.]

Well, since I told you about those...[His eyes scanned her features, trying to find something to talk about.] Well, maybe you can tell me about those ears?

[This is what people here kind of settle on and it always amuses her.]

I'm not human. [Which is true, while still keeping her secret. Humans have the roundy ears.]

[Said demon did his own version of a facepalm, putting his paw on his forehead. The demon was thanking this world that Pixie and Lilim were not here; the teasing on his master would not end. Naoki had similar thoughts.]

I hope not. [The one elf she knows is, frankly, crazy.] I think I'm a dwarf. I don't-

[Why in the world would she want to tell him that? And she's blushing again.]

Sorry to hear that. I lost my folks a few years ago too.

[He was still in high school when that happened. Wasn't the easiest thing he had to deal with, and oddly enough, not the hardest.]

Somehow this feels sadder to her than not knowing them in the first place.]

Um, I didn't mean to make you sad or anything. Worse stuff has happened--I mean....well its a long story anyway.

I'm not sad. [She doesn't think about it often, really. Gaius is enough like a kind of dad brother person for her.] I thought you were.

Sadly, this kind of a normal thing for me.

[Having the world destroyed in front of you and all that tends to do that, sadly. Least he wasn't being jerkish here. Speaking of locations...]

Lunch? [Something she hadn't considered. Would never consider. Outside of work, Raven goes about life alone.]

[Naoki's hides his surprise at that actually working, putting on a smile instead.]

Great! Know of any good places that serves food? I only know the two run by Sanji and Buffy, I think that was her name at least.

Those are fine. [She usually gets fruit or something from the grocery store, any lunch place will do.]

Alright. Let's get going then!

[Without even thinking, he takes a hold of her hand, walking with her out of the battledome, Cerberus following them as well. Seemed this event had managed to put a bit of energy in Naoki too, almost as if the events of the past didn't happen.]

[It is weird and still vaguely uncomfortable to be led along by the hand. Who does this guy think he is, anyway?

Except she doesn't say it out loud and she doesn't yank her hand away like one might expect. She just walks along, a little bit behind him.]

[He was now a nice guy who would normally never even do this. Whatever experiment was in play, it was hardly helping him from staying cold, or even think about some actions.

And soon enough, he at least manages to let go, stopping into Sanji's restaurant. Normally, Naoki would stay far away thanks to Isamu being here, but the food...that was too hard to deny. That chef knew his weaknesses to boot.]

After a good day of training, its always good to have some awesome food.

[Cerberus actually nodded at that, already placing himself near a table. Even a demon could not deny the delicacies here.]

What are you training for?

[Cerberus, if he doesn't mind, will get a gentle pat before Raven sits.]

[Cerberus doesn't mind being petted. Despite being a guard dog of hell, the beast was strangely kind to those he knew not to be hostile here.]

Any situation that might come up. Our powers are cut in half, so I'm trying to make up for that, either in power or skill. For example, I'm not used to wielding some of the weapons I gained from your shop, so I gotta get skilled in them.

Plus, I'm used to the whole expect the unexpected thing.

[Though obviously didn't expect this to happen.]
