Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

What do you know of this fiasco anyway? Am I going to be stuck like this or will it pass just like every other cockimany occurrence? [This is important to him; because he does not like being possessed first off and secondly- how long does he get to keep the fire magic?]

I know that the filial spirits are joining people. I know that one tried to invade my body and I had to drive it out. And I know you're possessed by one.

That is all I can say, but I suspect it will end like any experiment here.

[misterbrief]

Eferin huh. [It makes him a little angry, which causes that fire to come jumping out of his hand, falling and hitting the grass, causing that to catch fire too.

Welp. This is going to be fun now isn't it.]

I'm going to burn down the entire village at this rate. Gah, this is ridiculous.

[windandrain]

[She calls down her clouds again, surrounding him with moistened air to dampen the flames and put out the grass.]

The beach. Let's go. It's hard to burn sand.

[misterbrief]

[He growls. He's being forced to go isn't he. He doesn't want to go. He can't burn anything there, and he secretly sort of wants to burn more things. What is he thinking!? He needs to get somewhere else. But where the hell else can he go? This sucks.]

Fine. [He is already taking to the skies, not waiting. Grumble grumble.]

[windandrain]

[She'll join him, feet whisking along through the clouds. This'll be fun, really. Even if Vegeta doesn't think so.]

Oh, stop being grumpy. There are plenty of things you can blow up at the beach.

[misterbrief]

Like what? If you mean I'll have the opportunity to blow up the docks, then perhaps you're right. [NOPE, STILL GRUMPY.]

[windandrain]

I've found it fun just making giant geysers of sand...

[misterbrief]

Geysers of sand? [That's...a good idea, actually.] You know, that sounds fun. Let's give it a try.

[windandrain]

[Well, when they arrive...Saori will start off by creating a gust of wind that kicks up a veritable mountain of sand!]

See?

[misterbrief]

[He grins.] Yes.

[He's taking his hands and trying to figure out how to use this new fire power he's acquired. Perhaps if he taps into it and focuses it like ki. So he tries it, first aiming out towards the water and letting a fire blast go. Ha. Awesome.

He's got an idea.]

[windandrain]

[She watches, amused.]

[misterbrief]

[He turns to face Saori.]

Geysers...like this?

[He digs his hands in the sand, focusing on the fire magic within him and sending it out through the sand, aiming fire pillars to erupt from the ground mixed with sand in the area around Saori. Five in total burst from the ground. They're not aimed at her, just around her.

Of course, since he's still learning a little he does manage to screw up with the sixth one he was trying to use which pops up almost right in front of him, the fire flinging off and almost burning him. But he can deal, he'll use that pillar to move quickly and appear behind Saori, wherever she ends up.

He is fully expecting her to try to hit him with something once she realizes he's there. He's not attacking her, but he's ready to block whatever she throws at him.]

[windandrain]

[Saori doesn't move, she doesn't even flinch. That mischievous look in his eye was a dead giveaway, as was his rather clumsy attempt at magic. She simply gestures and weaves a shield of air around her, blocking the dirt and fire out. It's a small thing for a being of magic, really. Her response to his teleportation is to spin and give him a grin.

While...behind him a glob of mucky sand flies off the ground, guided by a tendril of air and splats squarely into his backside.

Clearly, he wants to play around...]

[misterbrief]

[The globule hits him square in the back, and obviously he's totally not expecting it-] Ah-! [In which he takes a look behind him, seeing what had hit him and turning to Saori looking all grumpy again.]

[You know what? He reaches behind and with one finger gets a good chunk of that sand on it.

And he wipes it across Saori's cheek, then returning his arms to that default folded position across his chest, looking smug.]

[She looks at him with an...oh really...face...for just a moment before reaching up to wipe it away.]

[And then she just bursts out laughing.]

Ha...haha! The...the look on your f-face!

[The most she's laughed since leaving Clint a few days before, at that!]

[misterbrief]

What's so funny!? [No way, she was laughing at him! He reaches back and gets more sand off of his back and tries to smear it all over her face this time, that'll teach her to laugh!]

[windandrain]

[She pulls back, out of the way this time and keeps laughing.]

It...this! This is all so ridiculous! I...I haven't laughed in days! And then...snerk...this!

[misterbrief]

[It was kind of ridiculous, wasn't it. He supposes...it was kind of funny. He tries to fight it but he can't help but crack a smile too, and lets out probably the first genuine laugh he's had since he even got to Luceti.]

It's not over yet! [He's going to throw that mucky sand at her now, dodge this!]

[windandrain]

OH!!!

[She spins artfully, laughing all the while and managing to avoid getting it in her face. But it still splats against her stomach.

Her retaliatory strike is a lobbed ball of water, called out of the atmosphere with a simple twitch of her fingers. It's only water, but it's kind of gelatinous...]

[misterbrief]

[He cackles gleefully at the successful hit, and holy crap where did that come fro-

It splats all over him covering him in the 'water', leaving him holding his arms out and looking down in shock as it slid off him. Man he already got enough of this inside of Buu...gross! But, MORE AMMO.

He starts flinging whatever he can get off of himself, his arms a blur and he fires the stuff as fast as he can back at her.]

[windandrain]

[Just as planned! The goopy liquid flies at her and...spirals around her, orbiting back at Vegeta! Water flung at a water god? Don't be silly!]

[misterbrief]

[Oh he should have expected this. He's only got enough time to let out a cry with a look of shock until the globules hit him with a gross thwack and he's once again covered in the stuff. He flies right over to her and gives her a look, arms akimbo. He is expecting her to wash him off. Does not want goop.]
