Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[ Flying? There's sure a lot of competition in the skies these days. Ikki's on her glider, while Soren's - well, a bird pokemon. Law is familiar enough (that is, she's met him and is willing to chat) that she'll angle closer, easily maneuvering in the air. ]

Hi, Trafalgar! [ Because ages ago, when she'd first met him, she'd decided to use his first name. ] Your wings look different from Grandpa's and Uncle Sokka's. [ That's mild enough. Ikki herself isn't effected, and is in the sky solely because of her status as an airbender.

Having conversations in midair is okay, right? ]

[They're the best!

Or would be if Law wasn't wondering why there was a little girl suddenly in his airspace. Hi, Ikki. He sees your partner, do you see Law's? He's around.

He gives a little wave while looking blank as a slate and causing the light to sparkle around him.] Mm? [Might be... staring a little bit. Oh. His wings. His prismatic giant wings.] Hyt's work.

[ Ikki hasn't totally spotted Itachi yet. Soren has, but he's also paying more attention.

The light sparkling is sort of drawing up more of her attention. She's seven; sparkly things are pretty awesome. Hyt has the coolest wings so far! ] That's the light one! Right? We learn about them in school.

You're doing really well flying, though! Some people are having more trouble getting used to it. I've seen them!

[ ... ahahaha. He may have totally crashed into ~~The fourth Hokage~~ someone earlier. Steep learning curve, but he's no means an expert flyer yet.]

Yes.

[And because it's fun, and it's one of the few things he loves about this aside from the flying, he bends the light to create auroras around them. Shimmering curtains of rainbow light, wavering as in an unknown breeze.

They'd be prettier at night, but Hyt loathes the darkness and Law himself is wary. They're weak there. A shame.]

Thank you. [Dipping a wing to bank.] It feels right.

[ Luckily for him he met a veteran flyer only after he doesn't look like he's embarrassing himself, then! ...Ikki would have just offered advice about air currents, though. ]

I thought so!!

[ ...And then there are rainbows of light, and Ikki's laughing again, banking to the side to fly through one, one hand dropping from the glider to touch. They're not able to be touched, of course, but she seems to like looking at the rainbow on her skin.

This is the sort of thing that makes her happy, in Luceti. ]

That's because the very best place in the world to be is in the sky! And now lots of people know it!

Mmmhmmm.

If I could keep just this, I'd be happy. It's freeing.

It is! I'm glad I was born an airbender. And y'know, if you ever want, Grandpa Aang takes people up on Appa sometimes.

Not quite the same.

[You know, going on your own power.]

But it sounds like fun.

Yeah, it's not. But it's better than nothing, right?

...And anyway, I bet I could teach anyone who has a contract with Kipinn to at least glide on a glider. You don't need all that much air once you're up here and riding the currents. So if you had that, I could still help!

... mmm... I have a contract.

[Can't use it right now. Spirits after this... not sure if want... the contracts are very useful but there's THIS.

Hyt and him need to scream this out when it's all over, that's for sure.]

It's strong.

[So talkative right now, huh? >>;]

Then all you'd need is a glider! Uncle Sokka made me this one for Christmas.

[ It is the very best glider. ] Since mine from home never showed up. But people without airbending can use them if they're careful about it; I think it's probably a bit more dangerous 'cause if you fall without airbending, you can't catch yourself as easy, but having Kipinn'd probably help that a bit.

[ It's okay Law, she's talkative enough for two people. 8| ]

I teleport. No going splat for me.

[Ultimate safety net.]

Maybe after I will get one...

[ She wasn't sure that was something he could do, since her experience with his powers are "confusing" and "pretty silver fish flying in the air". "Magic" seems to sum it up nicely, although Ikki knows it's the devil-fruit thing and not actual magic (although the devil fruits may as well be magic, as far as she's aware. ]

If you do, I promise to teach you! Grandpa would, too, I know.
