What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!
Where: All around the town square!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

For ideas/reference on how it was handled last time, feel free to look through here! There's no official signup, so go forth!

Well, to fair, I'm sure some people forgot about it after the chaos last week. But it was being planned for quite a few weeks before then.

I think you and I might be the same. I have only ever really cooked for one. [She takes a small bite. They are as delicious as they look.]

Still, it's good of you to look after them. [...she hesitates. Wondering if she should ask.]

...I saw you fighting, before.

I didn't realise I was coming either. [There's a hint of dryness there, but she smiles at Helios.] It's very interesting. I'm only just realising how many different worlds there must be out there.

[Especially this stall. He'd mentioned magic before, but... this is both beautiful and a little intimidating.]

...Wait. I'm not putting anything in my mouth before I know what it's, uhm, made of.

Yes. Though it seems that I am a lot...older than many residents. Most other Japanese seem quite far in the future.

...however, it's nice to meet someone who's familiar with the shamisen. Can I ask where you're from?

Kyle is Hiccup's, right? And... Let's see, Linda is with Masaomi... and the third's Skarmy, with Shiemi. I've heard about them in the house~.

[What a good boy you are, Soren! He'll take a cake to be shared between them. It's nice to see that though they're not the first match up they're very good for each other. It kind of reminds him of... Heheh.]

Though you're not his first trainer, you and Soren seem to be very good friends. [He's okay at understand the feelings of a Pokemon. Empathetic heart and all. Nala just increases it.] I have one like that too! Don's a big dinosaur who was a Gym Leader's, but he was so open with me Mr. Byron wanted me to have him.

[It's the most thrown together thing, but Diamond's set up an attraction!

It's Lax on a table.

There's a sign tacked lazily on the front of it which reads: The Marvelous Munchlax! He can swallow anything!

He wanted to do something fun, sue him, and Lax is pretty amazing. And cute. Especially since... Well, since his best friend isn't here to do manzai with.]

Um... Ah, come one, come all! See as my buddy Lax swallows anything put in front of with with no problem! He's very talented!

[ Well he's probably heard a bit about it over the journals but it's never been anything that caught his attention, so... ]

Can't really say I know much about it. That's how you could do all that?

"...What happened? To the wooden boy?"

Of course we can. [Asami grins.] Not being a bender doesn't make me less helpful, it just means I can't do flashy tricks like that.

[A faint nod.]

Yeah. Mako's his brother. I keep hoping he'll show up.

We had cooks my whole life, I never had to make anything unless I wanted to.

[She grins.]

Oh? What did you think?

[ He's quiet for a moment before answering. ]

A little area a short ways away from Yoshiwara.

[ At the least, it's more likely to be meaningful to her than "Shibuya". And it's not an incorrect answer to the question. ]

SHE'S LIKE THE ONLY THING HERE, HER AND SOREN, HE KIND OF CARES ABOUT.

So she's pretty much first order of business.

Though all these animals he knew that Soren'd feel at home in Ikki's house considering they're always around and stuff but seriouslyyy.

Cer and Ber are kind of uncomfortable with so many people milling about at the event, but Chien keeps his hands on them as he admires the sculptures along with the living ones. Their animals remind him of the ones back home. It's nice.]

"According to the legends, and what my master has told me that eventually, after many trials and tribulations his form was changed to one of flesh and blood, and he lived out a normal life. I have heard tales of the man who carved the boy having a granddaughter as well, but those have been lost to the winds of time."

[She noticed him the second he was close by, but she was still unsure what to make of him. Since he's not making any moves or saying anything, she can handle the fact that he's walking a little too closely.

After he is with her for more than a few minutes without talking to her, she looks at her side and smiles a bit.]

Is something fascinating you here at all, Kida-kun?

Yeah.

Every world seems to have different types of... well I guess you could call it magic, even though that's not what we consider bending to be.

[Zuko looks at her thoughtfully for a moment, the slightest bit of a smirk appearing.]

This Mako, is he your boyfriend?

[ Twilight grins at the visitor, and with a touch of magic from her horn, dims the light in the area (even though they're outside). Shadows become more pronounced, and the crystal ball glows faintly. She puts on a deep, affected voice and makes a lot of elaborate gestures with her hooves. ]

Welcome to the MYSTICAL world of the FUUUUUUTURE! Here, time and space mean nothing at all, and soon we could be looking into the VERY DEPTHS of your private life - in any time you wish!

The light around Twilight and Elizabeth dims; the crystal ball glows. Twilight's eyes sparkle as if possessed with a great energy.

"My methods are to bend time and space to my will! ... Or just ask you a few questions!"

Hi, Beast! [ She doesn't bother with the act for him, grinning broadly at him instead. ] Yeah, sort of! I wanted to give people something fun to do during the fair. Is there anything you want to know? Have a seat! [ She magics a chair into existence behind him, just the right proportions for a particularly large fellow. ]

Elizabeth's eyes also twinkle with energy as she nods.

"Ah, a ball, I myself use cards."

[Well she can definitely smell the animals if little else. Though she doesn't believe she's ever seen them--and now isn't looking likely. She rests a hand on on Twilight's head, trying to seem unconcerned with people so close that she can't see. Dangers still hidden. But she is tired of hiding and so she will try and enjoy herself]

Please watch out for...unmentionable things. [that she doesn't want to step in. She's not sure how Twilight feels about that matter, being a pony]

Don't worry, I'll steer plenty clear of that. [ Twilight wrinkles her nose a little at the smell of so many creatures cooped up in the same place - it's a little like Fluttershy's hut. ]

I can see various sizes of fuzzy things. What would you like to visit first? [ She peers curiously at Momo, who has bounced up to her nearby. ]
