What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Asami snirked at that description, bobbing her head with a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing. "Y-yeah. I never thought to call him that, though. He threw me through an obstacle course that would've made most of my teachers back home have fits."

She shrugged. "Thanks. Really. But if I had to choose between watching me, or watching Zuko and Aang doing that fire dance, I'd pick the fire dance."

[A puzzle newcomer is just as good as a puzzle veteran in his book, and so he sounds as pleased as punch.] That's what I like to hear. Try this one on for size.

[He places ten British coins ranging from pennies to pence to pounds between them, along with three empty glasses.]

I ask you to distribute the coins in these three cups in such a way that the following conditions are met: one, that there is at least one coin per cup; and two, that there are seven coins in one cup and three in another. Is this possible?

Well... then I cannot dislike you for that choice. I only wish that it was not necessary to resort to violent means to build that future. Perhaps there can be allowances if it means to protect what it is important though. It is... something I will have to think through.

[Something he hopes he might be able to learn from when he returned home, despite knowing he would likely lose all memory of this place and its people.]

I try to keep up with the clever and the witty. A girl like myself can only do so much.

{ How she manages to keep her bitterness when she admits this little truth is beyond her. She always hated how she never felt smart enough compared to, say, Anna or Louis. They were paid for their smarts in the group.

But the conversation she is having with him is fascinating, making her sincere in her questions and happy enough in her remarks and questions. Puzzles always did quip her interest. If only because he was so good at them in the past. } And like every good story, I suppose that makes you a chronicler of their message and meaning. A modern Grimm of Riddles?

Or are you one of those... How does one say it? Enigmatologists?

I don't know. On one hand, I really like this. But on the other hand, the longer it goes on, the more likely I'll mess up.

[And he opts to wrap her in a tight hug as he bamfs them back.]

[Hardly bothered by the loss of the towel, Zuko stares in wonder at the transformation. Is that a hat? It is, isn't it? Not the sort of hat he really sees in the Fire Nation, but a hat all the same.

He claps at the performance, honestly impressed.]

Wow! Is that real, or is it just a trick o make it look like a hat?

I've been thinking about trying to seek it out. Learn it again.

They certainly are. It makes me wish we had something like that back home. Although... I suppose they wouldn't be much good without air benders. But they are very beautiful.

[She follows his gaze, and her fingers touch the strings of the shamisen gently.] I suppose there are always some things to be proud of. I'm glad the shamisen has survived that long.
