What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

It doesn't? [She isn't too surprised, seeing how her and Sheena eat the same stuff.] You know what this stuff is?

Some of it, yeah. Looks like Japanese food.

Japanese? [One moment please!] OH! Yeah, I've heard of that place. It seems like a lot of worlds have places like this... Japanese.

They're all different Earths, as far as I know. Japan seems like a nice place. Makes great cartoons! Well, they call it "anime".

Oh yeah! I've heard about that. Do you watch this "anime"?

Every now and then! The voices are kinda weird, but it's pretty cool stuff.

Maybe for out next date we can watch some. [Then she catches her comment.] Um... if you wanted one, that is.

Hey... I'd totally want one! [He says eagerly, but then relaxes to not be too eager.] If you're offering, that is.

But maybe we could try something else. Something tells me anime might not be the most romantic activity, after all.

I want one too. And, well. It doesn't have to be romantic. I just like being around you.

[And she was being honest too. There was enough anger in her life right now, and having Kurt around gave her a reason to smile and to laugh again. Usually with others she was happy, but the moment they left her presence, she felt the anger and heartbreak returning. It wasn't like that with Kurt though. He actually made her happy, and that was something she really needed.]

[He can't help but smile at this. A sad smile. All of this... it was good. More than the thought he should be going for right now.]

I... I like being around you, too, Suki. ...A whole lot!

[He pauses for a moment, his throat dry, hesitating.]

But, the things... Maybe it's too soon to say something like that. I mean... there's things you don't know about me.

[His remark surprised her.]

What kind of things? [Now she was nervous. The last thing she needed was someone else she couldn't trust. Sokka already broke her trust. She didn't want to put her trust in Kurt only to be crushed again.]

[He hesitated and averted his eyes.]

Well... It's...

Suki, the me you're getting to know? It's not really... the real me.

What? Who's the real you then?

Do you really want to know? To... to see?

[A nod.]

If you want to show me.

[He wants to trust her. He honestly does. He can't hold onto just hoping all the time that she won't turn out to be someone who will turn on him when she sees what he really looks like.

Kurt nods and stands up, starting to reach for the image inducer.]

I will. I'm sorry... for what you're going to see. You remember - I'm a mutant. Right?

[All she can do is nod, nearly speechless from nerves.]

Um, yeah.

Okay, then. Here goes...

[He closes his eyes, swallows and bites his lip before he turns the inducer off.]

[And then, there's a fuzzy man looking on at her sadly.]

I'm sorry.

[She can't help but stare. He was... blue. Like actually blue. And fuzzy, which explained the fuzzy comment.

She stood up, trying to decided if she should move closer or not.]

You're... blue? [Really? That's what you say Suki? Real deep.]

[wildbluevagner]

[A soft nod. It's not instant condemnation, sure. But it's not instant acceptance either. He feels so tense it's a moment before he can get himself to speak.]

Right. And... fuzzy. And - and just weird in general.

And fuzzy. [She repeated.]

This is the real you?

Cross my heart it is. I don't like to trick you like this, I swear. It's just... this is the way I've gotten used to living.

[Finally she stepped closer to him.]

You've gotten used to pretending to be something you're not?

[He took a sharp breath of fear. He didn't know what would happen.]

Yeah. S-something like that. I mean... I'm still me. I just... have to look different.
