The Cultural Fair!

Who: Everyone's invited!
What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!
Where: All around the town square!
Summary: Here.
Rating: ... who knows?!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

For ideas/reference on how it was handled last time, feel free to look through here! There's no official signup, so go forth!

[He can't help but grin at the happy chirps from the dragons and he takes a few moments to pet them properly before turning his attention back to Helios.]

There's a bakery back home that makes them. Imported grain from Faerie, a kind we don't have. These ones... we had to improvise a little. Eugene helped. You should try one.

[He gives a wry smile at the response to the rules and nods.]

Oh, they're definitely like that. Beautiful, graceful, dangerous. Less blending in in my world in a lot of cases though.
folklorist: (Yes I do agree with that)

[ Tummy rubs and pettings accounted for the dragons will take the time to go gallivanting off around the booth Jack and Max have setup. Helios has a wide smile on his face as he watches briefly before he turns his attentions to Max. ]

Quite the exotic bakery, hm? I hope these don't have any of the powers latent within sidhe food, aside from being delicious. [ And he'll help himself to one a pleased noise escaping his lips as he does so. His green eyes are alight with approval and earnest delight. ]

They're wonderful Max! You should look into having them sold at the bakery. I-I mean they could always try new things after all!

[The dragons make their way toward Jack, who is at work with paper and a pen mapping out safe drinking water instructions. He grins as he stoops to greet each of them, peering up wryly in turn at Max and Helios.]

Are you sure they don't have any of those powers? It sounds as if they're about to get my partner sold off into cake-baking servitude.
abjurer: (Grin)

[He watches the dragons start speeding around the tables, obviously engaging in one of their frequent mad half hours that they were so fond of.]

Mmm, we have trade agreements for some things.

[He glances over at Jack, and something apprehensive flickers in his expression for a moment at the thought. After a moment though he smirks over at Jack.]

Well y'know, dress him in a cute little apron and a collar and nothing else... I'm sure I'd have bidders.

[His tone is light and teasing and he sticks his tongue out at his friend.]

folklorist: (I suppose that works)

[personal profile] folklorist 2013-06-15 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Trade agreements. I see. Most mythica wouldn't bother to, ah, keep those enforced after awhile. But your world is vastly different than mine.

[ There's a wryly smirk on Helios' lips as he then laughs at Jack's words. He'll nudge Max with his elbow a faint blush on his features at Max's words. Oh my. ]

Don't tease poor Jack like that, dear. There's no need for baking servitude, even if these cakes are quite delicious. I think I might have to try my hand at making these as well. You're not going to make me wear the same thing, are you?

[ Helios will just have a derpy smile on his face as he teases the other man. He can do that, tease, it's not that he's lost the ability to but, well, it's been awhile since he's done it. ]
250mhzwabl: (seriously?)

[personal profile] 250mhzwabl 2013-06-16 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Am I going to have to sit here and listen while the two of you have dirty fantasies about my partner and negotiate your kinks?

[Jack lifts his tea with an answering smirk, taking a healthy drink before continuing.]

Because I can give you private time, really.

[personal profile] abjurer 2013-06-16 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's a two-way deal. Would suck for the Sidhe if the restrictions on Cold Iron were suddenly lifted.

And hey, if you want to wander around wearing just an apron, I am not gonna object.

[He grins, utterly unrepentant at the two of them.]

Just consider it turnabout for those times I've had to listen to the two of you while trying to sleep.

folklorist: (Er. Um. Don't kill me please)

[personal profile] folklorist 2013-06-16 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Good lord I-I was joking. [ Oh gods his face is probably so red right now. He will make note not to tease in front of Jack anymore, okay? Okay. ]

And-and there's no need for-for anything like that. [ Aside from all those times shifted, and just even thinking about them makes his face burn even more. But that is not a conversation he is going to get into out in public and not especially in front of Jack of all people. He'll just rub the bridge of his nose and let out a huff. Right subject change is most prudent at this point. ]

S-So how has the, ah, cricket demonstrations been? It's been such a long time since I've played.
250mhzwabl: (-you're laughing out loud)

[personal profile] 250mhzwabl 2013-06-16 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
[The second he sees how red Helios is, Jack dissolves into delighted chortling, which breaks shortly into full-blown laughter.]

Oh, God Helios, your face-! [He's practically giggling in his joy, and he's slow to catch his breath, scrubbing at his face and rocking back in his chair.]

Sorry, I live with perverts. This one included. [He jerks his head toward Max, eyes still fixed on Helios, smile still broad.] But we've had a few brave souls, yeah. I didn't know you'd played.
abjurer: (Casual)

[personal profile] abjurer 2013-06-16 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Max can't help but chuckle softly because Jack is right, Helios is bright red. He bumps his shoulder gently, giving him a soft smile that he hopes conveys that he means no harm. If Helios asked, he'd stop in a second.]

Hey! I am not a pervert! My mind is clean and pure as new fallen snow. [The smile he actually gives is about as impure as is possible.]

I think we should get a proper game together sometime. It'd be fun. Might have to introduce rules to take into account super speed or whatever.
folklorist: (Curiousity killed the cat you know?)

[personal profile] folklorist 2013-06-16 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There is just a sheepish laugh from him as he looks away, face still red but not as much as before. Well then this conversation is taking a very interesting turn. But he knows that Max is just joking and means no harm so he can take it. ]

Fallen snow...of course. [ He so does not believe that, just so you know Max. But his lips are turned up in a wry smirk and he shakes his head with an amused chuckle. ] I-I played a few times back in-in Romania. It's not as popular as it is in England and other countries, but once or twice I've had the chance to, um, play.

[ He wasn't very good admittedly. ] You should try applying magic to it. I know some magic schools have done it before with other sports. It sometimes makes it even more...interesting.

[personal profile] 250mhzwabl 2013-06-17 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, come on. Give us non-magic sorts at a chance at a level playing field, will you? [He aims a sardonic grin at both of them, leaning forward to lift W.G. into his lap and smooth down a frayed bit of grip tape.] Not enough that you're kicking butt every time trouble comes around, is it?
abjurer: (Staring at the sun)

[personal profile] abjurer 2013-06-17 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, I'm wounded, Helios. Sounding so sceptical.

[He slides his hand into Helios's, giving his fingers a gentle squeeze.]

I'm not sure I'd consider myself kicking butt. We'll figure something out that works for everyone. I hope.
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

[personal profile] folklorist 2013-06-17 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, well, after-after the last few shifts...you-you know.

[ Helios does have a reason to believe his skepticism is well founded. Oh, dear. There goes his face again, lighting up like a Christmas tree. But he does manage to smile, sheepish as it is, when Max entangles his fingers with his own. He'll blink then at Jack's words laughing and giving a slight exasperated huff. ]

Oh but of course. I-I didn't mean anything personal or demeaning by it. But perhaps if I can get started on a little project of mine, the magical 'butt kicking' as you put it might not just be reserved for us magic folk any longer.

[ but that was a long way off and lots of trials had to be done before anything could be set in stone as to being possible. ] we always do manage to figure something out to-to include everyone. I-I'm sure there's lots of people who would be willing to play cricket with the both. Who knows maybe you could even start team.
