[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

I know! I know! I'm afraid I've fallen a bit behind on my duties to personally greet and meet all the new woman who arrive here in Luceti!

Oh thank goodness! Promise to do better in keeping up. Or at least not making you wait so long!

I'm so disappointed that I did not get a chance to meet you when I first arrived here. To think we could have known each other by now. And perhaps then some?

{ That's how she operates. Flirting and complimenting. She likes to think of herself as a give and take kind of gal. } I take it that you've been here for a long time than I if you have such a perilous duty to do every month or so.

Ahahahaha, I've actually been here for three years now. Time sure does fly sometimes!

{ Excuse her as she coughs into a handkerchief she pulls out from nowhere and swallows back a noise of surprise in disguise. Three years! Holy hell that is a long time for someone to be here. Is there a chance that she'll be in that same position?

Pushing the worries aside, she focuses on the joys like this charming man here. He seems okay with it and shows no sign of injury. }

Goodness. You must have seen many events happen in all that time here. Hmmm... I think I recall that strange man mentioning how the spirits were possessing us was something that occurred before. Were you there when it occurred?

That was actually before my time. I haven't been here quite that long. Or at least, I hope I haven't really been here that long. [He smiles and laughs a little shyly.] Or else you might think I'm some kind of old geezer or something!

[inventings]

{ She files that information away later to see if she can make it connect with the notes she made so far about this place. So people have been here for more than three years? Interesting. }

You do not think that is long at all? Good sir, you've been here for three years! Surely you miss your home after being away from it for such a long time.

[goldenglasses]

Well, I guess it is a long time. [Then again, when you're over a hundred years old it's not so bad.] To tell you the truth I don't miss my home too much. I mean, I miss my friends and stuff, but my planet was a bit hard to live on sometimes.

[inventings]

I'm sorry to hear that, my dear. I suppose a place like this would be more preferable than one is from if it is difficult at times to be.

{ How to go about this tactfully? She's always wanted to hear more of the worlds beyond hers. } May I ask what it was like where you are from? I can tell you a bit where I am in return so it does not feel like I am constantly pestering you with questions.

I'm not pestered at all! That's what this whole thing is about, isn't it? To meet and learn about each other! Unfortunately there's not much to say about my home. My planet is just one giant desert is all. When it's not hot, it's really hot. It's nice being in a place with more green then yellow!

[inventings]

It must have been difficult to survive such a climate. There was no rain or snow in any country? { Talk about a beach episode. Except with less ocean and more sunscreen. A lot of it. } That is odd for a world. Where I am from there has been some hiccups in the weather but not to the point.

Then again my world is far from perfect. Where I am from, people have a tendency to simply vanish into thin air. I wish I was joking about this.

Really? Into thin air?! I don't know, when put like that, living in a desert doesn't sound TOO bad. At least I didn't have to worry about vanishing. [Okay, when Legato was around you did, but he's gone now.] Sounds pretty scary to me!

[inventings]

I suppose besides a select few, it is not that big of an issue in a world full of people. Do you not have a figure called D.B. Cooper in your history? Jimmy Hoffa?

Some of us are used to people simply disappearing the next day. { There is a touch of brittleness but it could be excused as she was adjusting her earrings at this time. It could be mistaken for pain at a failed adjustment and annoyance at herself. } But I'm being negative! It isn't always awful there. There are kind souls and friendly faces to make up for the odd occurrences now and then.

[The history of Gunsmoke? No. Earth? A couple of those names do sound vaguely familiar from what he remember reading about Earth. He thinks he understands what she means now.]

That sounds rather sad to me. I hope that changes for your home soon so that no one ever just disappears, but let's talk about happier things! I'm glad there are lots of good people there too. The people on my world can be pretty good sometimes too. [Sometimes.]

{ The subject change of happier things is something she is happy to advocate. She isn't here to fume about someone that isn't even around anymore. Oh no, she won't let him do that so she focuses on her partner and does what she thinks she does best: Socializing and flattering. }

Good and charming as you? I do hope so! It is rare for a lady like myself to meet an upbeat and fetching person like yourself. I have not met many good people-- { Wait that's negative. } --besides my dear friends back home. If there is anyone who is an example of goodness it would be my two dearest companions, Josefina and Jacklyn.

{ Hey she isn't actually lying. }

I don't know, that sounds like you have meet some pretty good people to me! You don't use the word dearest for just anyone after all! Although, I'm glad that those are girl names! HAHAHAHAHA!

{ Oh this gives her an idea she didn't mean to do on purpose but will with it nonetheless. She looks around dramatically, making sure no one hears her. Then she leans forward and genuinely whispers to him so no one will overhear what she's saying. }

Oh yes. We happen to be very close friends back home. They always kept me, how do you say it, excellent company when there was no one else there. { She gives a small sigh, pretending to look sad for a moment before switching back to cheerfulness. } But with only myself here, I expect that I will be alone on those days. I certainly am not looking forward to those times.

Well, you may not have those close friends of yours here with you right now, but you need not be alone. In fact perhaps even tonight you may find you have a new friend to hold you close at night.

Ah- as long as they don't need to be a woman.

Oh please. You do not need to worry about that being an obstacle or an actual requirement.

Anyone is welcome. I just love the feeling of another's company with me at moments like those nights. Extensive physical interaction is important to a person, no? A need and not a want.

[goldenglasses]

Yeah! Yeah! I totally agree! Extensive physical contact is very important! Very, very important! Yeah! Yeah! In fact I think- [And then suddenly the whistle is blown.] What!? Already!? No way! [It was just getting good!]

[inventings]

Rules are the rules, I'm sad to say. It would be unfair of me to keep you all to myself for now. That is not the spirit of the event!

{ She starts to stand up and gives him a smile that promised a lot of things. } Emphasis on 'for now' of course. If you're still interested we can meet again and... see where it goes.

XD We can have them meet up after! I just thought it would be funny to intrupt Vash in his happiness

Yes! See where it goes! I want to see where everything will go! Yes! Yes! Right after this in fact!

We totally can! I was hoping for them to interact after. I really enjoy Vash and Addie interacting!

Excellent. I'll be waiting at the lounge after everything is over. Just for you, my dear.

{ Since he was being such a good sport about this, at least in her opinion he was, she quickly blows him a kiss before she has to depart.

And criminal or not -- Not that anyone here knew that and she'll like to keep it that way thanks -- Addie does believe in keeping her promises. Ones she made personally at least. So she is waiting at the lounge, all smiles, as the event wraps up and looks around now and then to see if he comes. }

[Vash finishes off his round of dates, not just because it's polite, but because he's not use to women being serious when they say they want a relationship with him to go further. Still, just to be sure, when the event starts wrapping up he heads out into the lounge and-] You're really still here! [Did he just say that out loud?]

{ She has to admit, it is endearing in a way with how surprised he is that she's here. He was a sweet man and hey. No worries of business mixing with fun seeing no familiar faces are here to hound her. All the more reason to go after this.

She heads over to where he is and flashes him a little smile that shows she's so happy he came. Like she was worried that he wouldn't show up. }

Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be waiting for you? I made a promise and you're interesting. { A casual shrug like these are facts that they both should be familiar with. } Very good reasons for a lady to stay and a gentleman to come in my experience.

Oh, I dunno, I guess I thought maybe you were just being polite is all! HAHAHAHHA! [His loud laugh suddenly stops and he leans over inquisitively.] Were you just being polite? Because it's alright if you were.
