Like there isn't enough stupidity going on normally.

[She casually makes use of her wasabi pile on a bit of sushi, deeming it palatable in the next bit. Despite the way she talks, her actions are refined enough to speak of some higher socializing... or a family with money.]

If I was thrilled every time something stupid happened, I'd never do anything else.

[He definitely notices the way she holds herself, though, the poise and precision in her movements. His own motions have a similar base to them - exacting and perfect - though his also have some sharpness and roughness around the edges, like the edge of a stabbing speed and angle in the way he plucks individual items from their bowls.]

I saw you leaving the "Shadow Dragon" earlier. Was I right in thinking the rest of those "rides" were as inane as that one?

Most of them. The Orbiter was pretty good though, if you can get past all the people emptying their stomachs after.

You know what that's like, huh? How long have you been fighting?

Since I was maybe ten or so. Or that's when I started practicing on my own anyhow. If you're talking about fighting as in being trained, I never have.

Depending, practice on your own can be more important than formal training. I've done both since I was six.

What do you use?

Knives mostly.

[She raises up a hand here, the edge of one of her spring-loaded holsters shown around her wrist.]

I have some experience with throwing knives and stars. Recently I prefer the sword.

Are stars the same things as shuriken? I borrowed a few of those when I first arrived.

Exactly the same. [Now he's curious who she's met, but he won't push that just yet.]

How did you like them?

They aren't too bad. Different weight, different feel. I've gotten a little more used to directing them.

[After practicing on the walls of her room for days on end.]

[There's a pause while Mai studies him a moment. Then she offers a faint smile, the first of the conversation and one not so tinged in sarcasm or wanting to border more of a smirk than a smile.]

You'd have to be more entertaining that what I usually practice on.

[His own smile is still half-smirk... but for that, it's pretty genuine compared to previous. Sasuke can honestly say he likes this girl's attitude.]

[Nevermind that he doesn't know what she usually practices on. His assessment stands regardless.]

The one piece of bullshit nonsense that's actually useful in the enclosure.

[He won't care if she's not, but it'll make it harder to know exactly what her bubble is like otherwise. Harder to practice after this "moon" bullshit is over, too.]

[Is there any other? Is this like nations and tribes? ...She should really read that guide, shouldn't she. Frankly she hadn't cared enough to, not after just being whisked into the village and then whisked out again to this piece of stupidity.]

There's a guide you should read if you haven't. I can send it to you if no one has. There are other prison-villages like ours; they call them enclosures. Apparently everyone from all of them is mingling here.

Anyway. [Back to what's obviously more important.] There's a large dome on the edge of town. It has chambers that display illusions - good ones. Tactile as well as audiovisual. They're useful for battle simulation.

More high technology, huh.

[Mai settles back in her seat, mulling this over. She isn't sure how much she likes all of this technology, aside from Asami's glove. That intrigued her.
Then she nods a bit, adding.]

That sounds better than doing absolutely nothing. I'll go give it a look once this idiocy is over.
