Birthday wishes

What: Rin's Birthday

Where: House 15, in the living room
Summary: Shiemi is throwing Rin a birthday party. She's doing most of the setting up, but Rin was kind enough to cook for his own party. We don't want Shiemi killing anyone.
Rating: PG-13 at most I think.


Plants and heat lamps litter the living space of House 15, but they're all decorated in Christmas style. Baubles and shiny tinsel-like garland hand from bushes that range from fruit bearing to thorny. What might be most notable is that Mistletoe can be found almost everywhere. Shiemi saw people kissing under it a couple times, and despite it being a poisonous plant, if people really liked it that much then it should be at the party! The girl collected a lot of it, so people are bound to run into it! Feel free to get your grub on with Rin's homemade dishes, give out some kisses, or brag about the presents you did or did not get the Son of Satan.

Well, it doesn't matter now.

[Looking around. Now that they were free, she dragged him to an area that was less likely to have prying ears.]

Well.. Long story short... I'm originally a duck. With this pendent [Showing the pendent] I'm able to become a girl.

[rashness]

[ And he is dragged. Not really expecting to be dragged, he got thrown off. But... he follows. And then the story starts and- uh]

A duck, really?

[He kissed a duck?

... You know that makes her name a little on the nose ]

[clumsyduck]

[Sorry Rin. To be fair, she prefers to be a girl than a duck anymore.]

It's... well... Have you ever heard of the fairytale story called "The Prince and the Raven"?

[rashness]

I don't think so, no...

[clumsyduck]

Well... In the story... There was a Prince who was beloved by all and he in return loved them too. There was also a Raven who wanted more from the story. The creator of the story, Drosselmeyer, ended up dying before it was complete. Once that happened, the Raven took up that chance to try to leave the story. The Prince did the only thing that he could in order to seal the Raven into the story.

The Prince stabbed his heart, sealing away all of his emotions along with the Raven.

Wait so- like there was a book and the Raven jumped out of the book?

[clumsyduck]

Yes. The Prince went after the Raven to stop it, but he lost his memories and his heart shards that holds his emotions.

Further more, Drosselmeyer is supposed to be dead, but he's still very alive in some weird way.

[rashness]

So the author's like a ghost or something now?

[clumsyduck]

Something like that, yes. It's almost as though he exists outside of our own world.

[rashness]

So you met the guy?

[clumsyduck]

Uhm well...

In the story, Princess Tutu is there to retrieve the Prince's heart shards. And this pendent.... He gave it to me but.... It wasn't to be generous.

[rashness]

[ He nods. As if he is following. He is not following though ]

[clumsyduck]

So with this pendent I'm able to turn into a girl but... he gave me a role. It might be better if I just show you.

[And with that, she turns into Princess Tutu.]

[rashness]

[ ... WHERE DID DUCK GO? THERE IS NOW A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON HERE?

He blinks, surprised out of his stupor now ]

Uh, hi.

[clumsyduck]

[Even though she's never really shown her transformation in the midst of someone else while they weren't affected by a heart shard, she couldn't help but giggle a little.

Unlike Duck, she seemed a lot more graceful when it came down to giving a polite curtsy.]

I am Duck, but in this form... I'm Princess Tutu. And while I'm like this... I can get the Prince's heart shards back.

[rashness]

Oh. So it's a transformation thing, and you're using it to help out your friend. Basically.

[clumsyduck]

[Nodding to him.]

That's right. But in the story... Princess Tutu... She becomes a speck of light because of confessing her love to the prince.

Although, back home... We've kind of... changed the story a little bit.

[rashness]

[ ... ] Well that's not good. And it sounds kinda complicated.

[clumsyduck]

Well... Uhm... Back home... we were able to get the Prince's heart back, but this pendent... It was the last shard. So at home... I lost the ability to become a girl or Princess Tutu again. But in the end, he was able to go back into the story with his princess.

[rashness]

[ WHAT...? But wasn't she the princess? He looks sheepish, and itches the back of his head ] Look, I appreciate you telling me this, but I'm really not sure I follow it all. I think I got the important parts, though.

[clumsyduck]

Oh. I'm sorry... I guess It's just... nice to have somebody know.

[She may have gotten too carried along.]

[rashness]

Oh, nah! I mean, I'm glad to hear you out.

[ With a wider smile. Only slightly strained ]

[clumsyduck]

Oh uhm.. There's... a lot more that's happened, but I won't confuse you anymore than I already have.

[And with that, she twirls her hands above her head before offering her hand to him.]

Dance with me.

[You know, since she's already like this.]
