Plain hot chocolate at sunset
It is a lovely sunset, to an enjoyable day, wouldn't you say?
[If he heard her say something, he doesn't comment on it. Pasts could be difficult to talk about]
Roger! o7 Also assuming she is going to tell him her name at some point in the other thread.
[She turns to him a little, watching him from where she's sitting but making no other move towards or away from him. It isn't hard to remain calm, not with the elder's presence as welcoming as it was. In fact, it was a presence she had experienced with no other in Luceti, and that in itself allowed her to lower her regular defensive nature into something more unguarded for him alone.]
That it is, and it is only made better by your company.
That would make sense, I'll buy that at a high price stranger.
It is Iroh. Thank you, the pleasure is mutual, I assure you.

[The laughter, oddly enough, lets her relax more as she leans back onto one palm where she's sitting. In fact, she gestures for him to sit next to her if he wants to so that she can keep up the conversation with him more comfortably.]

Not as many as I thought might occur this week, but that is probably for the best. Marriage is after all a lifelong commitment.

[In spite of herself she smiles a little, her eyes turning back to the water once more as she slips into deeper thought.]
Have you seen any friends or family of yours here, Iroh? From your home that is.
no subject
[He looks at the water himself. His tone goes a little lower]
My nephew was here when I first arrived, but he has since returned home. Aang and his companions are also here, and we struck up a friendship later on, so there are a few friends from home. Actually the majority of my family save my nephew, I am sad to say would not bring me great happiness.
[For some reason Iroh felt the need to tell a little bit about his family]
We are a complicated family.
[To put it mildly. Many royal families over the years were though]

[For some reason the expression on her face is a bit more sad. She looks to the water again, frowning.]
I suppose it is the same for me, save for seeing any of my family here. My uncle is truly the only one I can call close to me. My father passed away when I was very young, and my mother left me in my uncle's care soon after that. I had no one else.

[Not something he usually muses about in public with people he hardly knew. Even those he had spoken with a great deal did not hear many misgivings from him]
no subject
[After a moment she laughs softly, her eyes closed.]
At least, I believe that is what my uncle would say to you. As irritating as he may be sometimes, I do think of him as wise.
no subject
Yes, I have said similar things. There is only what you do with what you are given that matters truly. I like to think that I have done some good in my time, and helped others.
[He looks out at the lake]

[He smiles]
It is an honor to be part of the formalization of it though.

I am sure that there are other things you can do to help others here as well.
no subject
Well, one can certainly hope.

[No Iroh she's not giving you a strange look for that one at all, whatever would give you that idea?]
no subject
[He'll just continue on ignoring the look, since he is a man who adores his tea]

Yes, many have said that. It is not something I make a secret of.

[That's a hint of a chuckle and a smile from her, mostly at the elder's enthusiasm at the subject.]
