Due to the size and variation of this event, it's probably best to have several logs for it to avoid one getting overcrowded and broken. Feel free to have your characters post their own entries, of course, if you'd prefer- you're more than welcome! This is for people who like to consolidate. Another log ought to be posted around the 16th for round 2.

I'm curious to know about this place- how long you've been here, what you've experienced, how many from your world might be here. The more information you can give me, the better.

[Not normal in his world! Everyone's hair is brown or black where he's from. And seeing all the different hair colors here has been... interesting.]

I've been here for about a month. There are seven other people from my world, and we all come from different points in time.

[Yeah, its confusing he knows. But he doesn't mind answering these questions since he had similar ones when he first came.]

I see... so it's the same, yet completely different, for everyone. It's fascinating.

[Zuko folds his arms and frowns a little.]

How is being ripped from your own world, held in a giant enclosure, and being experimented on, fascinating?

[Sorry he just doesn't see this as being cool in any fashion.]

Don't get me wrong, it's still terrible and unwanted. But from a scientific and explorative standpoint, it is interesting. It's entirely possible for this situation to be both.

[Zuko for one, is not all that convinced. But then he's not exactly scientifically minded.]

My apologies- I never introduced myself. I am Luke fon Fabre, from the kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear.

[He says the last part as something of a test, as if the name is supposed to mean something. He's still not entirely positive that this place is really another world, although Natalia helped ease his worries of that somewhat.]

[Obviously he doesn't, and he's quite aware that he doesn't have to share his opinion thank you very much. Though he just mentally shrugs it off.]

My name is Zuko, and I'm from the Fire Nation.

[So yeah, definitely from another world. Though the name of Luke's country sounds strangely long. Its certainly a mouthful.]

So that's not a place that would ever exist where I'm from... why such a simplistic name for an entire nation, though?

Simplistic? Why is yours so long? My world has four nations based on the type of benders that live in it. My country has firebenders, so we're the Fire Nation.

[It makes sense to him.]

My country has a rich and complex history, and it's named after the great leaders who founded it long ago. I don't know what you mean by "bending", but I can't imagine it being so important that the entire nation has to revolve around it.

[It just seems odd to him.]

[Now Zuko is just annoyed. What made this guy think his country was any better than his?]

Yeah, you're probably right. Because this isn't important at all.

[And with a quick movement of his hands Zuko throws a few small bursts of fire at Luke's feet.]

[He jerks back at the sudden burst of flame, his hand lurching towards his sword. It's half-drawn before he stops himself, recognizing the act as a demonstration (albeit an obnoxious one) of power, so instead all Zuko gets is a glare.]

If your intent is to frighten me, that won't work. My world has powers like that as well.

[Zuko crosses his arms, clearly not worried that this guy has a sword or supposedly has powers. He just glares right back.]

My intent was to make a point.

Your point was that your country has power, yes. That doesn't make it somehow more impressive. An entire nation boasting about its ability to create flames sounds dangerous and unpleasant.

No, the point was to show you what bending is and how it's important to our culture and why it has a "simplistic" name.

Which is essentially what I said, from a different point of view.

[Sorry, he's still not impressed. Even children can do fonic artes, dude.]

Right. Then if your country has something similar it's not any different.

[He's not impressed either.]

We don't name ourselves after that power, however. Therefore it cannot guide our culture.

[There is the issue of the Score, of course, but that's a world-wide factor, not a national one. And he's not about to admit it, either.]

So what? The name of your country doesn't make it any better.

My apologies- I didn't mean to cause friction. I have a great deal of pride, and sometimes it gets the better of me. I intended no disrespect.

I noticed. There's nothing wrong with having pride in your own country.
