Who: Everyone. New Feathers! Old Feathers...?
What: New Feather welcome party.
When: 18th, 6 pm onwards.
Where: Welcome Centre.
Summary: This is a party. There's food and games (if you like) but the idea behind it is basically to mingle mingle mingle. Maybe make a new friend/enemy/frenemy or two?
Rating: G-PG 13 at most? There might be kids in these things, man.

The all-day rain outside makes the entire atmosphere a little drippy, a little wet, a little miserable. But rain or not, the party must go on! Or at least, so the saying goes.

It's a cosy little setup-- food, warm drinks, tables and chairs to lounge around in. So come on in, dry yourself off, have some fun. Why the hell not? The weather outside is frightful.

[Definitely not new, but Luke Skywalker decides to attend the party anyway. He's been relatively on edge as he is with every New Feather cycle, which means he feels more than a little obligated to wander in and see who or what has just arrived. And unwind a bit himself

He politely will go around introducing himself to anyone who'll give him the time of day, and people around the drinks may find him waving fingers, making his own cup float around. He's playful for a Jedi Knight, and tonight's a good night for parlor tricks!]

[Cups don't float.

Not even in the Capitol, where they might have had the technology and silliness for such parlor tricks. Her attempt to sample every one of the liquids is momentarily forgotten as she watches the cup instead, attempting to figure out how this man is pulling off the trick.

She doesn't see any string, anyway.]

[He can't help but notice someone caught up in his little act, so Luke will have the cup float over and hover right in front of you, Miss."]

[And she reaches out. First underneath the cup to feel for some sort of hover device and then along the rim, looking for strings.

There's nothing.]

[Lupin is also hanging around the drinks, more than happy to relax in the crowd. Between his intensified physical training, watching his friends either run themselves ragged or disappear and return a few days later with a couple more years under their belt, the sheer normalcy of a party is very welcome.

...except for a certain Jedi having fun. He laughs into his drink-coke, nothing alcoholic for a change.]

Cute, Skywalker. You're gonna scare all the new kids at this rate. [He's grinning. Clearly he's amused.]

..."again?" For the record, Fujiko was mad and trying to make me jealous--and I don't recall telling you that.

Showing off, Luke? I did not think the Force was for such displays of frivolity. [lighthearted and teasing as she walks up to pour herself a drink. ]

When did you become Obi-Wan, Adele? [Her cup starts to dance away, dipping into the punch bowl of its own accord]

I'm nowhere near smug enough, or bearded enough, to be him Luke. [She watches her cup fly away with a soft huff of laughter.]

And Luke had apparently decided to stop in and say hi, so how could I possibly not go talk to him?

Luke freaking Skywalker. I mean. Seriously.

Okay, Harry, wizards do not squeal like fangirls. Period. I put on my composed face and approached.

"Oh, yeah. I've been doing great. Hey, um... how long does it usually take for stuff to show up in the shop? Because there's a couple things I'm really wishing I had, right about now..."

[ No stranger to weird things, Asuma isn't really surprised by the cup floating around. He is intrigued, however. Because while he's used to these kinds of things, he seriously doubts this is some kind of ninjutsu.

Ah well, it would make for some friendly conversation, anyway. ]

So, have you impressed many of the people here, yet? It seems like the kind of thing that would, but...I'm curious.

So far? A few odd looks, but really, floating cups seem to be small potatoes for the kids. You're the first to really figure it out.
