Daisy's apartment, Outdoors, Battle Dome, and House 51
Daisy is coping better than the last time this happened. She is starting to be aware that incidents like these would repeat themselves. It all begun to be clear once she noticed there were people that remembered the missing day, and with lives that made more sense than the ones she had.
She was starting to expect another life that was false. What she continued to worry about were the new droids. That they weren't even worried. It unnerves her tactically and strategically for the days that will come.
She grabs an empty notebook she rejected at first prior to her Desert Op. She begins writing down.
Your name is Daisy. You are a Chief Petty Officer. You are a Spartan. You serve the UNSC. You serve humanity. Your service number is S-023. You have the right to choose your fate.
You lived on Sargasso. You then grew up on Reach. Your parents loved you. Your group protected you. Your trainers did not.
Wartime articles demand prisoners to only give name, rank, service number, and date of birth, but it was still too basic to remember more if another shift like this kicks in. She knows the next time it happen she won't understand much. But the reminder of who she is will remain important.

Writing it down every single day. A voice to tell her when is she being lied to. Something to keep her mind sharp. Something not to let anyone tell her she is anything else. Something to remember each, and every day. Something to remember her parents with. Something to say if she is ever imprisoned again.

When she loses her patience, she heads out to the Battle Dome. Inside a simulated version of the MJOLNIR, she tears out throats, severs bodies, destroys anything that comes forward for hours. She continues in silence and isolation until she is too tired to even be angry.
This time, however, she heads to House 51 before returning to her apartment late at night.]
Battle Dome
While he was no stranger to it, he usually came to fiddle with completeing the simulation of the Sagrada Familia that Selphie suggested he try, or utilizing that facsimile of a spa in Thailand for use by Adele and himself. This time, however, he used it for its intended purpose--combat training.
The targeting range he programmed was a familiar one to him, one used by Jigen during their early days of wandering around the European countryside. While he wasn't near Jigen's skill level, few were.
The weight of the Walther in his grip, though simulated to avoid wasting the precious few bullets that he had, helped him feel a little like himself again.
After he's shot more than his fair share of simulated bullets and bored of static targets, he starts to make his leave...and spots a weary looking Daisy. With the Shift, with all of the changes that occurred, she was likely affected too. Neighborly concern bid him to approach and speak up.]
Daisy...what's up?
no subject
While she looks at him for a long while, it takes her a while to nod before sinking her head back.]
no subject
He wanted to go over to her, touch her shoulder...something. Instead, he settles for words.]
Shift, huh? You seemed pretty content during it. What happened?
no subject
Even if it's happened a lot throughout her life, she still feels at loss.]
It happened before.
no subject
...Me too, though that was more the reverse. Memories being taken away instead of given, but still being forced to forget something important. But you're you; worried about something?
no subject
It happened a year ago. Just the week Bil came in here. We all had false lives. False allergiances. False families.
[Her fingers tighten with the last one.]
They wanted to make it permanent.
no subject
[Not if he was able to do anything about it.]
no subject
Yeah... We've had luck so far. For all that's happened... We've had luck so far.
[Her blue eyes turn to Lupin.]

Outdoors
Hey! [She waves, jogging up]
I'm sorry about the other day. I wasn't really myself. I wouldn't want you to think less of me because of the Malnosso.

Daisy looks at the girl for a moment, before closing her eyes, and shaking her head in regret.]
No, ma'am. [She holds her arms as she lowers her head, not for the size difference but regret over everything that happened.] I'm the one that did wrong back then. I went off against you for something that's stupidly trivial in here. I'm sorry for what I did.

[Chun-Li approaches, wearing a big smile, one arm rubbing her neck.]
Daisy, wasn't it? Its time for real introductions. I'm Chun-Li, and I'm an agent with Interpol, from Hong Kong, on Earth.
no subject
It takes her a while to gather the knowledge on speaking after something like this. She nods.]
... Chief Petty Officer Daisy SPARTAN-023. Naval Special Warfare. United Nations Space Command. I'm from a world with an Earth.
no subject
Nice to meet you, Officer. Now, don't be so gloomy, ok? Cheer up before I have to knock some smiles into you.
no subject
Yes, ma'am... My apologies. ... I'm still sorry we met during a shift.
no subject
no subject
Sorry...
[She looks at her -- at least, no longer hampered by the visage of a false world.]
I wonder if you wanted something to drink, ma'am. Maybe tea, or something else.

House 51
Nel is sitting on the couch, flipping through the journal pages, unaware that her friend's coming by. She does notice that the effects of the experiment seem to be dying down, though, so she won't be that surprised to have her drop in.]
no subject
She knocks the door.]
no subject
A very serious looking Daisy. Nel looks at her silently for a couple seconds before saying anything.]
Hi... Daisy. Are you... I mean, do you want to come in?
["Are you back to normal" probably wouldn't really be the best thing to ask, whether or not it's the case, and she's pretty glad she managed to catch herself. She still does look pretty awkward though.]
no subject
Yeah.
[Daisy walks inside silently, familiar with the inner environment of the house to guide herself through. But she walks along with Nel, wanting to sit beside her. Have company with her.]
no subject
Val's in the sky somewhere. She'll be back later. In the meantime, come, sit down with me.
[She leads by example, lowering herself onto the couch. Only when she's already sitting does she remember she should probably have asked if she needed something to drink. Tea or the like. Well, never mind, there are more important matters...]
So... how are you feeling?
no subject
I'm myself, now.
[...]
I didn't want this to happen again.
no subject
[Hmmm, that's not the best way to say it. She knows she sounded pretty cold there. Still, it's true.]
But it's only ever temporary. I knew we'd have the real you back at the end.
no subject
I was starting to guess things were off the moment histories didn't match. I knew this would end.
... It doesn't hurt as bad as last year.
