EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT
Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...
Summary: See this post for more info.
Rating: P for Points! (Keep it PGish, folks. Anything worthy of a higher rating can be brought to your appointments posts.)
As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.
Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.
Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head
Happy hunting!

All the days!
She will be spending some time in each area at any given time, but probably most of it would be in the Nile and Gangland when she isn't home. She'll be joining up with the Avengers to scavenge items for points at some point and would be willing to assist others as well, if she stumbles across anyone needing a hand somewhere.
[Costumes: Shogunate, Nile (Hair), Gangland]
First day
He's making his way across the path to her before the rounded nature of her ears clicks. Not an elf. Not Rinna.
Re: First day
She was coming to like the kimono, however. It was a little stiff and awkward compared to what she was used to, but she suspects she could conceal a veritable armory under the layers of fabric with no one any the wiser.
Still, the male approaching her wasn't familiar and she didn't think he was one of the natives either, so she brushed her fingers over the grip of her blade in preparation. Just in case. He stops before he reaches her, and there's an expression on his face...
Natasha lifts her free hand, brushing her hair back from her face as she eyes him curiously. Her stance is easy and relaxed, but she is ready to react at the first hint of threat.
"Can I help you?"
First day
Re: First day
Natasha's laugh is quiet and wry as she turns to face him fully, one hand still tucked unseen inside her sleeve as she gives him a faint smile. Curiosity flits briefly over her face as she takes in his features, surprised but intrigued. She inclines her head at the compliment.
"Thank you. Even if I'm not the person you were looking for. Though I can't imagine there are many redheads here at the moment," she added, motioning to the area around her with her free hand.

nile, day 2
He'd asked Natasha to meet him at the pyramids so they can hash out a plan. Which is why he's leaning against the side of one, trying in vein to shield himself from the sun.]
Re: nile, day 2
Steve was relatively easy to find - mostly because the pyramids dominated the region and he stands out, just a little, from the sudden influx of natives. She saunters up to him with a smile, letting her gaze roam over the surroundings, drinking in the sights.]
Good morning, Captain. I hope I didn't keep you waiting long.
nile, day 2
His mouth opens to greet her, but then he remembers his current state of dress. Or lack thereof. Mostly. Because his only piece of clothing is long, white linen that reaches his knees. And the golden bands around both of his upper arms are a nice touch. Overtaken by a sudden need for modesty in a lady's presence, he quickly crosses his arms.]
Morning Natasha. I haven't been waiting long. The apartment is not too far from here.
Re: nile, day 2
[She can't help but tease him, her smile impish as she notices his self-consciousness and the way he crosses his arms over his chest. Which does little for modesty, really, but shows off his muscles nicely. Still, she doesn't stare, mostly because beyond a little teasing, she has no intention of making him uncomfortable.]
What have you found out?

She was enjoying a coffee sometime in the midmorning, out on the corner, when there was a sudden raid across the street. Gunfire sounded, and Rogue quickly slipped from the table to lay on the ground. Oh man, her coffee was still up there.
no subject
Natasha had spotted the flash of familiar hair a moment before she backed around the corner, keeping herself out of sight from where the rival gangs were doing a good job at thinning their own numbers. She peeked her head out just enough to keep an eye on the situation and locate the girl - now on the ground a few feet away.
She called out to her quietly, still pressed to the brick wall, dressed in a slim pinstriped suit of her own, hair gathered back into a tight knot at the back of her head.
"Are you alright?"
no subject
Really, it'd be smarter to knock the table she had been sitting at over and use it for cover, have it roll with her and crawl away.
But her coffee was on there, darnit. And this was ridiculous! She had half a mind to do something rash.
"Gorgeous--" more gunfire "--day. Don't ya think?"
no subject
More gunshots rang out and one pinged the building over her head, causing her to duck back out of the way for a moment, but then there was a shout from one of the fighters and she glanced back once more.
"If you want your coffee, you'll have your chance in a moment. I think they're about to move elsewhere..."
She no sooner got the words out than there was the roar of a car engine and a chorus of victorious male whoops. Natasha rolled her eyes.

Shogunate
"Alright, easy bub. I ain't fixin' to give anything back, so you and your pals better run along before you get hurt."
Re: Shogunate
The amused voice comes from above him, where Natasha is perched on the railing of a balcony, watching the excitement from a safe distance. It's also a good place to store the pair of swords she also had on her, because if their owners had discovered their absence yet, they hadn't figured out the cause and she'd rather keep it that way to avoid the sort of situation the man below her was in.
no subject
"You get a lot of friends fixin' to poke holes in ya, Red?"
no subject
Her smile widens a bit at both the look he shoots her and the unexpected nickname, which is apt in oh-so-many ways. She leans forward, propping her chin in her hands as she eyes the shortening space between him and his companions.
"Would you like a hand, or do you have it under control?"

Gangland
Still, it's not all playing around. He's thrown in his lot with Steve's team for the scavenger hunt, so right now he's seated at the bar keeping an eye out. He's here to see a redhead about a Tommy Gun.
He could read between the lines of the description he got from Steve, and when she walks in, he has to admit he still wasn't ready for it. She's one drop-dead gorgeous dame.
And off-limits.
He waits until she sits and slides off the stool to come over, leaning one arm against the bar. He takes his fedora off with the other.
"Agent Romanoff?"
Re: Gangland
She smiles charmingly at the man in the pinstriped suit who offers up his seat with only a polite smile and a tip of his hat. There are a few things she misses from the past eras, things lost in the modern day. The polite manners might possibly top the list.
She's considering ordering a drink when a voice speaks from behind her, and there is something about it that triggers something in the back of her mind. A memory, a knowing, but out of place here, something not immediately clicking with the right sort of recognition, a hint off. She swivels in her stool, smile already in place to meet Steve's friend, since no one else here would know her by that name.
Her expression freezes, startled, the moment her gaze falls on him. His name slips from her lips unbidden before she can stop it, the shock of seeing him here, seeing him alive and well and all-too-real leaving her reeling for a moment.
"James."
Re: Gangland
"Yeah." He replies, giving her a half-smile. "Bucky's fine. I was startin' to think we'd miss each other but Steve was right - you're pretty hard to miss."
Re: Gangland
There is no recognition in his eyes, no flare of anything familiar, and that in itself clenches about her heart like a vice, a palpable ache that makes it difficult to breathe, although there is nothing given away in her bright smile. Her eyes catalog details, missing nothing, and this is not the man she last saw years ago. There are no shadows in his eyes, no ghosts weighing on his shoulders.
This isn't another case of forgotten memories, of wiped pasts, of cruel punishments. This isn't the man she knows. Not yet.
Her mind races, putting together facts, observations, questions and answers juggled back and forth so quickly that it takes her a moment to reply. When she does, she's just managed to pull her polite smile back into place, her eyes warm, although there's still something rattled in her manner as she holds out her hand to him, her green gaze searching his face intently. If her hand trembles slightly, she hopes it's faint enough that he won't notice.
"My mistake. I'm Natasha. And yes. Sometimes that comes in more handy than not."

He's already got a set of car keys - you can sure as hell bet that was his first priority. Next up? The tommy gun. He's searching for gangsters to swindle one off of when he crosses paths with Natasha.
"Hey, question - are you busy? You don't look busy."
no subject
She's just narrowly evaded one that broke out in an alley when she almost bumps into Tony - literally - and stops short at his greeting. One eyebrow arches upwards as she props hands on slip hips and regards him, standing there in a pinstriped suit of her own.
"If I said I was busy, would it make any difference?"
no subject
Because - naturally - who wouldn't be glad to know him well enough to call him on something like that?
"What do you say to assisting me in getting a hold of one of those tommy guns all the kids are carrying around? It'll be just like the good old days. Or something."
no subject
"Those kids, you mean? They're a little hot-headed at the moment."
