Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

[After making sure he received all of his requested items, Shikamaru will be walking along the hallways, taking in what he can about the dorms. He also needs to speak with his group, though that conversation is bound to happen after he's ran into anyone else, and has his curiosity about what incompatibilities some of the other draftees will be facing are satisfied.]

[After tracking down the members of his team, it's time for a strategy meeting.]

All right, is everyone present and accounted for? [And by present, he also means paying attention. 8|]

[ooc: since we'll be a very much divide and conquer team, this is probably the only thread all of us need to be in, whether your guy is just sitting there or what.

Roger. [He's sitting there, munching on one of the Volcano Burgers he had from his room still.]

[Katara's just on the reserve here, and she's still not sure she's making the best call. On the first day, more than anything, she should be out there with the people she felt responsible for. But she didn't know for sure she'd be with them anyway, when this started, and that's why she trusted them to Trafalgar.

But even Sokka had seemed OK with this. So, here she is, not quite at ease enough to sit, but leaning against the wall. Mostly? Because sitting means she's going to have to pick where she is in relation to Chouji. And even in the midst of a battle strategy this weighs heavy on her mind.

But she does nod and give a little smile when Shikamaru glances in her direction.]

[Celty is here as well, but don't expect her to say much. It's somewhat difficult to speak up in a group meeting when you communicate via text. Still, she has a few ideas so she may interject if it becomes necessary.]

[Masaomi is here. Paying attention is debatable though - you see, he's still scared. He thought he has prepared for it because it was just a fight, just beating up a bunch of guys. Just protecting Mikado by making sure they never got close. All sorts of things like that. But now... he's paralyzed. In a way, he's surprised his legs worked well enough to even get him here because now he's hanging his head and trying to pretend he's capable of speech or motor functions]

I'm here. [Frey is standing by Kida. He's noticed how quiet he's been, and is worried by it. Usually Kida would be babbling-

No, he's not sure what Kida would be doing. He's only see him fight once, afterall, and his attitude at that time...... That's worrisome all it's own.]

[Kaori doesn't say anything, sticking closely to Frey and Masaomi and hanging her head as well. Just listening and waiting to hear what her instructions are so she can follow them, as long as it doesn't restrict her to being protected by everyone else while she stays in the back.]

[Knock knock. Sokka, already armored up - save for his helmet, comes a knocking. He just has something to quickly drop off.]

[Door opening!] Hey, Sokka. What's up?

Hey. Busy getting ready?

[Sokka slobbed out for an hour before getting serious.]

I'm more or less done. [Looking beyond the door will reveal not a bed, but a stack of weapons that just so happen to be supported by a mattress.] Need something?

No, but I've got something for you.

[From his bag he retrieves a two way radio.] For communication. We used something like this last time I was out here. It's faster and easier to use than the journals. For instance, no using filters so the whole village back home doesn't start asking questions. I'm making sure the Silverbergs have 'em too.

Awesome. We have something like this back where I'm from, actually. [He takes his radio with a grin.] Hopefully we won't be needing to get in contact with one another while someone's radio is disabled by a Shifter.

Well, there's the journals. My guess is they won't be affected. [But, no way of knowing that.] But that's only as a backup. But I'll make sure someone at the Distro-center is keeping an eye on the journals for any emergencies.

Might want to make sure they're good at filtering. Somehow I doubt everyone that's drafted is on our side.

[...right, so, after the strategy meeting, after Katara talks to Sokka, but before she goes to visit Masamoni (and after Shikamaru does), Katara makes her way back to Shikamaru's room and knocks on the door.]

Hey, Shikamaru?

[He was just getting ready to leave. He looks over at her, standing by the open door, and slides his tanto sword into the sheath strapped horizontally to his back.]

Hey. What's up?

[Entering, she shuts the door behind her.]

There's something that I think I have to tell you that I couldn't tell you in the meeting.

[lol - tact, what's that?]

[He folds his arms over his chest, leaning backwards against his desk.]

Something about one of the people we'll be working with.

[Not so much a guess. She would know better than to hide something that could be important for all of them to know.]

[A nod.] Yeah.

[...it should be obvious by her posture that Katara is not completely comfortable with this, but that she believes it has to be done.]

You'll be coordinating everyone, so I think it's important for you to know all you can about how we fight.

[But even though Shikamaru will see this for himself soon enough, analyzing one of her friends with another one of her friends still feels weird.

But he has to know. To better keep everyone safe.]

That's how I do my job. [He returns the nod, picking up on that.] Take your time. Tell me when you're ready.

[No need to worry about that - she's already decided that this needs to be done, so she's going to do it.]

Before this week, I didn't even know Masaomi could fight. But he can. [Her arms are already crossed beneath her chest, but one of them breaks away to briefly brush against where her rib had been broken.] He's a brawler - strong and fast and he likes unconventional weapons.

[Broke a perfectly good practice sword in half to hit her with it better, man.] But he... changes when he fights. It's not that he grows more focused, but...

[How to describe without the telling 'it scared me.']

[Shikamaru frowns as she trails off, thinking back to the conversation he had with Masaomi just before this; the way he looked at the meeting compared to his behavior on the journals, and when he first met him back in the village.

You can't always compare the way a person fights to the way they act elsewhere, but in this care he thinks he can make a guess. Better than waiting for Katara to fill in the silence.
