Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

You'll be coordinating everyone, so I think it's important for you to know all you can about how we fight.

[No need to worry about that - she's already decided that this needs to be done, so she's going to do it.]

Before this week, I didn't even know Masaomi could fight. But he can. [Her arms are already crossed beneath her chest, but one of them breaks away to briefly brush against where her rib had been broken.] He's a brawler - strong and fast and he likes unconventional weapons.

[Broke a perfectly good practice sword in half to hit her with it better, man.] But he... changes when he fights. It's not that he grows more focused, but...

[Shikamaru frowns as she trails off, thinking back to the conversation he had with Masaomi just before this; the way he looked at the meeting compared to his behavior on the journals, and when he first met him back in the village.

You can't always compare the way a person fights to the way they act elsewhere, but in this care he thinks he can make a guess. Better than waiting for Katara to fill in the silence.

...not so much focused as less aware of everything else?

[Again she nods] Yeah. That's a good way of putting it. He had a hard time coming out of it.

How troublesome. He'll get himself killed that way, in a fight like this.

[He'll have to keep a closer eye on Masaomi than he'd planned.]

[Katara's not so sure about that, but... she knows it's a possibility.]

I just thought you should know.

[He nods.]

Thanks for bringing it up. I'll watch out for it. [He folds his arms over his chest.] Since you seem to have some personal experience with it, how would you feel about sticking with him on the field? We'll be changing groups up often enough, but chances are we'll still be working with some people more than others.

[He can't say whether or not you actually fought him, but the timing and the details given doesn't make him think she just happened to see him fighting someone else. So this is a polite way of asking if you're okay with working with him.]

[That might be your subtext, Shikamaru, but what Katara hears is if she's willing to watch out for him. And there's really only one answer for that.]

I don't know, he might want to be closer to his housemate, but I'll do what I can.

[He nods, not bothering to reiterate that the team shouldn't be so spread out that he can't stick with Frey often enough. And the rest can be decided when they get there.]

Thanks. I appreciate it. [He pushes away from the desk now, grabbing the kunai holster there to tie to his leg.] Anything else I can do for you?

Yeah. [A little smirk - she's glad that's over with. And she waits until he looks over at her to continue.] Be careful out there.

[Grin.] I think I can cover that.
