We are the named and we are known

Who: All Draftees
What: Arriving at the dorms
When: 26th
Where: Dorms, location unknown
Summary: Dorm information is here. This is your room!
Rating: PG... we hope?

Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

((Mod note: Extra draftees won't experience their Shift Incompatibility handicap in their dorms. :|a))

...A little, yeah. I've never fought anybody who wasn't in a Ganmen. What if I'm no good with smaller enemies?

[Besides, blowing up robots is really different from... well. Just killing people. Is he really okay with that?]
endgames: (Huh)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well if you're not, we'll take care of it then. There's a lot of other things I can have you do to help, in the long run.

[He's pretty sure that there are a few people in this group who are more hesitant to kill than others. Like it or not, it's something that has to be done. Doesn't mean they all have to do it so directly, and if Simon's one of those people? He'll find a way to work around it.]

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what Gold would do, if we can't fight... I guess he has his own way, too. [Speaking of "own way"-] Um, Gurren and Lagann can fight separately too, if that would help at all. They're not as strong as when they're together, but Lagann is small enough to hide.
endgames: (Listening)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
Gold seemed pretty confident that he could handle his own in this. [...though he's not sure. Somehow, robot >>> cue stick.] So the decision's up to you.

And that does help, actually. Which of the two do you pilot?

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
I pilot Lagann- the head. Gurren's the body. [He's still kind of surprised that Gold managed to pilot it so easily; he'll definitely have a story to share with Kamina whenever they're both back in Luceti again.]
endgames: (Maybe)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Much stealthier.] Got it. So what's the difference in their strength when they're separated?

[He's eyeing the robot again. He'll have to try it to see, but he thinks he could actually disguise Gurren-Lagann when they need it's full power. Wouldn't be able to do it all the time, however, so knowing that the two can split if needed is great.]

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well... I guess Lagann has better weapons- Gurren can't really make drills. But Gurren's faster and stronger, because he's bigger. Um... Lagann can travel underground, and there's boosters for hovering... and the shutters at the top don't break, no matter what. So it's good for protecting people. ... It can't fit more than seven people, though! Actually it's kind of crowded with just two...

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
You don't say... [Very interesting.] How high up can Lagann hover?

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe... about as high as this room? [He looks up at the ceiling of the hanger, which is reasonably taller than Gurren Lagann would be standing up.] ...A little higher, if it has enough power.
endgames: (Casual)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Aa. Not quite far enough then. [Still, it leaves possibilities. They could always try it from another angle.] Good to know, though.

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
What are you trying to reach?
endgames: (Processing)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-27 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I was hoping for enough clearance that you would be able to launch your weapons at the Third Party from above. It wouldn't end pretty if they had a Shifter with them, though, so that's out. We could try it off to the side, but we'd have a harder time compensating for range that way.

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Um... what about from below? I can tunnel underground using the drills.
endgames: (Heh)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-02-28 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Far as I know, the effect will work underground too. However... if they're focusing on ability-based fighters, they're not going to bother canceling out tech. That could work.

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
So while they're canceling the magic, Gurren Lagann can attack?
endgames: (Whatever)

/shakes fist at notifs

[personal profile] endgames 2011-03-02 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd be the plan. And the beauty of it is that in order to stop you, they'd be leaving an opening for the magic users to attack again.

/shakes fist as well, since they're dead while I'm tagging this

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
They have a pretty dangerous weakness, don't they. [Good thing Bil told them about it, though. Geez.]
endgames: (Bluff)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-03-03 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
They do, but that's only one of them. Maybe they'll prove me wrong once I actually see them in battle, but from what I can tell, their biggest weakness is that they're relying too much on their strength.

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-03-05 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't that a kind of weakness everyone has? We all rely on our strength...

[Is that his weakness, too? He relies so much on having Gurren Lagann... what would he do without it?]
endgames: (that's interesting)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-03-05 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's really only a weakness if you let it be. There's a difference between knowing your strengths and depending on them.

[He turns towards Simon.] Let's use Gurren Lagann, for example. If you had to pick just one thing, what would you say is it's greatest strength?

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-03-06 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Um... [Ridiculousness? The idiocy of its pilots?] It's really sturdy when it's combined. It doesn't get damaged easily.

[Though Gurren takes an awful lot of damage when they split.]
endgames: (Heh)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-03-06 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
It's probably at it's most powerful that way too, right? So I guess that means they should stay combined no matter the situation.

[It's a question, but he doesn't word it as such. He's looking to be corrected.]
Edited 2011-03-06 04:53 (UTC)

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well... sometimes that's true. But our best attack right now means separating Lagann and Gurren, and it's good to have a smaller Ganmen if you're trying to sneak up on the enemy, so... I guess it depends.
endgames: (Ear)

[personal profile] endgames 2011-03-07 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Good answer. 'Cause there's a lot of things you could with them, right? You're not limited to just your strongest move. If you used it all of the time, you'd get pretty predictable.

[identity profile] dawndigger.livejournal.com 2011-03-08 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Ah- so if the enemies use only two attacks, they get predictable, right? We can use that to beat them.
