Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

Just checking. His tend to be as on-the-money as you can get in these things.

I suppose I trust his well enough; it's best to have the lie of the land, in my experience. Control as many circumstances as you can.

I don't know. Maps don't exactly make a whole lot of sense. I mean -- how can you really tell that this or that blobby thing corresponds to a building or a tree or a carnival.

[How was she expected to find the treasure he was going to leave for her if she had no knowledge of how to work a map?]

[ human resources. it's a (sometimes-okay-maybe-not) beautiful thing. especially when you were the head honchoess of an organization teeming with brainy types. ]

O-oh! Speaking of teaching and learning and things...[ which sounds like a segue into their lesson, which she realizes at the last moment and has a mini panic before spitting it out: ] Derek taught me how to gut a fish. Me, Buffy Summers? I can gut fish. I'm a great fish gutter, too. Natural.

Oh? Erm. Lovely?

[ her prattling comes to an abrupt halt. it had been her careful way of disconnecting from the day ahead -- small chat the existence right out of the battle. tie herself securely on to something so frightfully normal like a talk about new and useful skills so she could stop fretting. ]

...Yeah? [ a verbal wince if there ever was one. she seems to be expecting some kind of why are you telling me this rebuke. ]

Would you like to go fishin', with me?

[ oh. this catches her off-guard. her knee-jerk reaction is one of considerable positivity. ]

...Yes. Yes, I think I would.

[all7seas]

[That's as good as an enthusiastic YES to Sparrow's ears.]

But I don't want to put the worms on the hook. That just seems cruel.

[ ...says the slayer. ]

[all7seas]

I'll worm your hook! I don't mind, me!

[herotypical]

[ folding her legs up underneath her when she regains her seat on the bed. ] You and me, then. Once we're back in the village. [ ... ] Or should we wait for it to be warmer?

Warmer weather might make it a bit more pleasant, aye.

[He watches her on the bed, fingers twitching slightly, then stands. Suddenly. Nervously.] I'll wish you luck, then.

[herotypical]

You too. [ her chin lifts, watching him stand. ] Don't forget to look me up in your down-time. Y'know, if I'm here too. And...watch out for that incompatibility shtick. I don't like the sound of it.

[all7seas]

[Jack hesitates, then reaches a hand out to her.] Very well, Annie. I'm just down the hall, myself...

[herotypical]

Sparrow's only a few removed from Summers. [ she notes her understanding, extending her fingers for his. ]

[He takes that hand, tentatively. No dying.]

[herotypical]

[ she squeezes her answer, threading their fingers briefly. no dying. ]

[The pirate appears satisfied with this, at least for the moment. Without another word he leaves her. There will be time later, he hopes, to be together.]
